Story
Jack was rescued from a high kill shelter in South Korea when I lived and worked there in 2014. He was already two when I adopted him and showed some signs of abuse and neglect. He has been my side kick for the last 11 years. He’s a super loyal (definitely a breed characteristic), but doesn’t do well with other dogs (unless introduced the right way - he’s got kicked out of daycare for not taking social cues and starting things), has not been tested with cats. He has some collar and neck sensitivity and has bitten and nipped a few people (around food or in high stress situations where we have large groups of people over and strangers try to pet him). He would be a great dog for someone without kids or other animals. He’s a great walker and sleeps 70% of the day. He is a sweet heart and we would love to keep him but we have an active 2 year old and the two don’t mix well.

Story
Cotton’s time has been beautifully spent. He’s learned to safely navigate a world that he can’t fully see or hear. He’s earned the nickname ‘Fake blind dog’ for his incredible ability to overcome the challenges and obstacles that he was born with, lived through and now has conquered. He moves with the absolute swiftness of a skilled herding dog. He is every bit as confident and agile as his canine counterparts.Beyond his improved physical abilities, Cotton has continued to make strides in his dog to dog relationships. It’s difficult in the canine world for Aussies that can see and hear. Their intense nature, quick movements, desire to herd, and demand for order can often be misunderstood by other dogs. When the ability to quickly read another dog is diminished by lack of vision or hearing or both- it can easily result in reactivity. Cotton has used his time here to learn to read cues his way. He’s learned to trust and play. He’s mastered fun and that should always be a priority. He’s also learning who to avoid, how to exit gracefully and that the humans do have his back. Cotton has embraced the life he’s living. He has worked so hard to be good and do good. He has more than earned his place in this pack, this home, this organization, this community and this world. He still needs a home of his own. This place he lives is wonderful but it’s not his wonderful. It’s a resting spot. A wayside stop. A layover. Cotton needs people that wake up every day happy and excited that he is there. A home that grabs him an extra treat when they are out. A grandma that extra spoils him. A kid that cannot wait to get off that bus to play with him. A bed that is just his. A family.Cotton has been neutered, microchipped, and is up to date on his vaccinations. He has tested negative for heartworm disease. His adoption fee is $350.00 plus sales tax. Please submit an adoption application if you would like to meet this beautiful boy.

Story
How do you even begin to write about perfection? Miss Mary is exactly that. This sweet senior gal is perfect for so many families.Mary is pure happiness! Her tail has two speeds-slow wag or fast wag. She is truly happy to meet everyone-no one is a stranger to our Mary. Mary does great with other dogs. She`s lived in a few different environments and she`s definitely learned how to make the peace. Mary doesn`t feel the same way about cats. She does need a cat free home. A home full of humans-especially little kids would be her favorite.Mary may be on the older side but it doesn`t slow her down one bit. She`s the best toy destroyer in the house. She easily runs 5 miles with her foster dad. Mary`s vertical to grab a ball or frisbee can rival most NBA players. If you`ve been at dog rescue long enouigh, you recognize great dogs when you see them. Mary is just that-a great dog. She is happy, devoted, fun, outgoing, snuggly, sweet and is just waiting to be someone`s best friend. Is it you??Mary has been spayed, microchipped, and is up to date on her vaccinations. She has also tested negative for heartworm disease. Her adoption fee is $150.00 plus sales tax. Please submit an adoption application if you would like to add this girl to you family!

Story
Tootsie is a beautiful middle aged gal. She was found as a stray in a neighboring community. She is estimated to be between 5-7 years old and if she could talk she`d say she is in the prime of her life! Her breed(s) are unknown but she appears to have some bird dogs in her lineage. She`s a perfect 51 lbs. and has a wash & wear coat!Tootsie is pretty firm in her beliefs. She absolutely loves chasing the ball and running with her foster dad. She absolutely wishes cats did not exist. Tootsie absolutely believes humans are better than any other reward on the planet. Tootsie, also, absolutely does not want to share her home with any other canines.Tootsie can be made to appear as if she a handful, a problem, questionable. When she first came to us we were concerned about all of these things. But we know one thing. Tootsie craves praise and adoration from her people, and she has proven that day after day. She wants this. It is an incredible thing to witness a dog shed the old persona and try a new one on, especially a reactive dog. She`s not always going to get it right, so she needs people that will continue to have her back and not try to make her something she is not. Tootsie needs to be the only pet in the home. She has made huge improvements and is now comfortable walking past and casually being around other dogs in passing. Beyond that she is an easy keeper. Want to go for a long hike? She`s your gal! Feeling like a couch day? She`s got the snacks. Tootsie is going to love her new humans with every fiber of her being. Who doesn`t want that kind of adoration?Tootsie is spayed, microchipped, and up to date on her vaccinations. She has also tested negative for heartworm disease. Her adoption fee is $300.00 plus sales tax. Please submit an adoption application to find out more about our Tootsie!
