Story
We rescued Monrovia (Moe for short) from the Humane Society last year after hearing about the hoarding incident. Moe was not a vocal dog during our visit and allowed my husband and I to walk around with him at their facility. Upon bringing him home, we established a routine very early on and he adapted quickly with some soiling accidents. He is very agile, athletic and loves to cuddle. With the right environment, he will be a great addition. We have had some incidents that concern us: He whimpers when alone and my MIL stays with us occasionally. He has growled at her a few times and we aren't sure why. He has growled at friends of ours and jumped at two of their children. We think there is a better environment for him to thrive in, not to mention three of our family members have allergies that have only gotten worse since getting him. He's not a bad dog, but has had bad exeperiences that our family can't fix.

Story
Luna was rescued by me from the Rowan County Animal Shelter. She was due to be euthanized. My family is not able to keep her and we were just looking for a better situation for her. She is 3 years old. Rough Collie/Alaskan Husky mix. She is not fixed but we were given a voucher to be used at several Rowan County facilities. Luna is very sweet with a good temperament towards people. She was docile and sweet with neighborhood kids. We were told by the shelter that she is dog reactive. We don’t know if she is aggressive or just highly excitable with other dogs. She needs some training to learn some manners (she jumps on people) and basic obedience. She would benefit from having a fenced yard. She has been in our home for 5 days and has not had one accident. There are no health concerns and she is up to date on vaccines. We have her records to show that. This is extremely time sensitive and are looking for a home, foster or rescue.

Story
Ollie, with his gentle eyes and soft, fluffy coat, is a heartwarming presence in any room. At 11 years old, he carries with him not just the grace of his years but a profound ability to fill a home with love and a serene sense of companionship. House trained and embodying the essence of good manners, Ollie represents the ideal of what a furbaby can be, offering not just companionship but the kind of soulful connection that comes from years of loving and being loved. His favorite pastime? Nestling into the lap of his beloved human, sharing moments of quiet affection and warmth. Ollie's very essence is one of charm and tenderness, making every cuddle with him an experience in unconditional love. With a personality that exudes calmness and composure, Ollie brings a tranquil harmony to his surroundings, making every space feel like a haven of peace. He navigates the world with an easy-going grace, showing kindness to both humans and fellow canines alike. Intelligent and responsive, he takes joy in understanding and following basic commands, always eager to show how much he wishes to please. Though Ollie's gentle spirit finds the bustling energy of small children a bit overwhelming, he thrives in a home where adults can offer him the quiet and stability he adores. A serene environment, where the days are marked by peaceful routines and gentle affection, is where Ollie's heart truly lies. As a senior dog, Ollie has been diagnosed with dementia, a journey he navigates with the help of medications and the unwavering support of those who love him. It's a testament to his enduring spirit and the deep bond he shares with his family, who cherish every moment with this sweet soul. In welcoming Ollie into your life, you're not just adopting a pet; you're embracing a being who, with every wag of his tail and soft nuzzle, enriches life's tapestry with threads of pure, unconditional love. Ollie, in his golden years, is a reminder of the beauty of aging gracefully, of the joy found in serene companionship, and the profound impact of a gentle heart.

Story
Meet Sabrina, a 40-pound bundle of adorableness who's as sweet as a cupcake with extra sprinkles on top! She's a true warrior princess, having danced her way through recovery from a serious boo-boo, and now she's all set to hop, skip, and jump into the hearts of her forever family. Sabrina is like a little ray of sunshine, spreading love wherever she goes. She's a pro at being the best housemate-no surprise potty parties with this girl, and she's even got a few tricks up her sleeve (or, well, paw) to show off! And guess what? She's never turned a shoe into a chew toy or redecorated the house in 'early puppy destruction' chic while her foster mom is out. She's all about keeping it classy. Car rides? Oh, she's all in! Whether it's a quick jaunt to the store or a grand adventure, Sabrina's ready to ride shotgun, her tail wagging in excitement. And when it comes to making furry friends, she's the Miss Congeniality of the dog park-every pup is a potential playmate. If you're worried about a bark-a-thon, worry not! Sabrina's as quiet as a mouse. Her foster mom swears she's yet to hear even a single woof! It's like she's taken a vow of silence, only breaking it for the really important stuff, like telling you it's cuddle time. In short, Sabrina isn't just looking for a family; she's ready to be someone's heart-on-four-legs, a forever bestie who's got all the love, licks, and loyalty to give. Who wouldn't want to come home to that adorable face every day?

Spayed or Neutered,
Story
From Foster: Darby is a super sweet and loving pup. He is not too much of a cuddler but he loves being near his people. Darby is great with kids and adults, including large groups of people. We didn't have him interact with dogs very much but when he sees them through the fence or in a store, he observes but doesn't bark, or show any emotion other than interest. He's still a bit shy. Darby huffs and puffs in his sleep a bit like he's barking in a dream but never barked in real life during the months we had him. Darby is totally housebroken and is very good about being in a crate while we are gone. We started letting him sleep outside of the crate at night but sometimes he would go in there on his own. We have a bell on the back door that he rings when he needs to go potty. He absolutely LOVES being outside so he might ring the bell if he just wants to be out and lay in the grass or play with a ball. Darby does like to eat grass but it doesn't make him sick. He just likes it. Darby is very good at following commands. He knows how to sit and wait to be released especially when we are filling up his food. Darby likes being given scrambled eggs and cheese as treats. A nice bonus is that he never tried to steal our son's snacks on the couch or food from the table. He doesn't beg but does like to be near others so he will probably want to be close by during meals. One of the funniest things about Darby is that he figured out how to throw his toys himself and then runs after them. It's hysterical. He is not high energy, even for a puppy but if possible he would love a fenced in yard to lay in or a lot of outside time. He is good on a leash and doesn't pull. Darby in sincerely the best dog ever and would make an excellent companion to anyone.

Story
Introducing Rosie, the snack-loving, belly-rub aficionado with a PhD in Food Security from the University of Our House. After a rigorous 3-week course, she's now utterly convinced that the food apocalypse has been canceled, and meals will, in fact, continue to arrive on schedule. Rosie's mastered the art of the "dance sit," a move so charming it could win awards-if awards for such things existed. When it comes to leashed adventures and crate-time chillin', Rosie's as cool as a cucumber. However, she's still brushing up on the whole house training gig. Regular outdoor excursions are her gentle reminders that the world is her toilet, not the living room rug. And let's talk motivation-Rosie's middle name is "Will Work for Food." It's not official on the paperwork, but it might as well be. Rosie's a social butterfly, getting on famously with our resident pooch and every human she's ever met. Her welcome jumps, though full of love, are her personal brand of enthusiastic greeting that we're gently trying to dial down. The "off" command is slowly starting to click, turning our little kangaroo back into a dog. Invite Rosie into your life, and she won't just occupy your living space; she'll leap right into your heart with minimal shedding! That's right, folks-Rosie brings all the love and barely any of the fluff, making her the perfect companion for those who love dogs more than vacuuming. She's not just a pet; she's a low-maintenance, high-spirit, four-legged love machine, ready to dance her way into your daily routine.
