Story
Please Sponsor Me:  I Am Not Available For Adoption.  I am a 16 year old cocker boy and a life time haven dog here at the rescue due to heart health issues.  I am Not Adoptable,.......but I sure would like it if you could donate to help with my care and vet needs.  Any size donation is greatly appreciated,  Thank you for your kindness! My name is Putnam, but these folks call me Putt Putt.  I am a small, blonde 16 plus year old cocker boy. One New Year's Day, I was lost and wondering the roads until I was picked up as a stray in West Virginia by Animal Control. Because no owner showed up to claim me and I am older, the shelter asked for rescue help to get me updated on needed vet care and a good home. A nice adopter/volunteer living in WV agreed to pick me up.  She drove me to meet up with the rescue owners' husband and he brought me here. I am heartworm negative, kind of shy and just a real sweet guy. I am pretty well house trained, but my heart health issues will not get better. On my initial vet visit I came to rescue loaded with fleas, I had anemia and needed to be groomed. These issues were taken care of and I had to have some dental work done too. Since I cannot be adopted out, you can help with my vet needs by sending a donation in my name to: CCR, P.O. Box 1050, Kannapolis, NC  28081.   A donation of any amount is tax deductible, very appreciated and I thank you for caring enough to help me to have a comfortable life for however long I have left. I would have been a wonderful companion for someone to adopt and love but my heart issues have gotten worse and now there is nothing they can do to make it any better.  Please donate today to help this rescue with my care. Send donation to:  CCR, P.O. Box 1050, Kannapolis, NC  28081 and put my name on it so that they will know it is for me. Donations Needed and Appreciated: This sweet cocker boy has come to rescue and needs a major dental with teeth removal. He is a senior, so he will need fluids and antibiotics. Please help CCR to pay his vet bills, we need to raise $300 to $400 dollars for his vet care. My name is Putnam, but these folks call me Put Put. I am a small, blonde 10 year old cocker boy. No Out of State Adoptions Absolutely No Phone Calls -Please fill out an adoption application, send it back to us and we will review and return calls. Go to charlottecockerrescue.org to download and save an application. Email it back to larrydonnacarp@aol.com to be approved. No Elderly Owners due to his bite history. He will do best with an owner 50 years old or younger. He is currently working with a trainer. He is an active dog but would be too much for a senior owner. Absolutely no children or grandkids. He must stay in or close by the local area so that he can continue his training. Meet JoJo, an active, handsome almost 6-year-old black n white Cavalier-Basset Hound mix. He was bought from a breeder. His owner was moving and turned him into a shelter where he was taken in by another rescue. He bit several of their people, and they didn't know how to deal with him, so he came to us. Every day we have worked with him, challenged him and corrected him to behave properly. We have not quit on him just because he has issues. He has been with us for 2 years and has made tremendous progress. His aggression is doable if you listen to our suggestions and what we have learned works for him to be a good dog. He needs a fenced yard and a calm adult only home with a good alpha owner willing to work with him. If you listen to us on what works best for him, he can be a good boy. A home with few visitors and limited distractions is a must. He can be crated temporarily. No children, no grandchildren and no senior owners due to his past. He doesn't do well with big dogs and cannot be in a home with Pitt Bulls. He is most comfortable with Cocker Spaniels and Corgi's. He is very selective with who he likes and will bond with you once he knows you. He can be a goofy guy, likes to play fetch, is a bit jealous at times and can be vocal at mealtimes. His adoption fee is $400

Please Donate to help us care for Honey. We will not be taking applications for quite a while until her needs are met and then she can go to a forever home. You can send a check to CCR, P.O. Box 1050, Kannapolis, NC 28081 or by PayPal to larrydonnacarp@aol.com. This dog is not in good shape. Please be patient with us and give us time to get the necessary vet care done to help her feel better. She will need a lot of Angel donations to help with vet costs to get her well. Your kindness is appreciated. Meet Honey, she will need to find a forever home after we get all of her needs addressed. She is an older cocker girl from an owner who no longer wanted her after years of neglect. She had no love or attention and was mostly kept outside. We were told by the rescue folks that she was 7 to 8, but our rescue vet says she is closer to 12 or 13 years old. She has kidney issues, severe dental disease, growths behind both ears and ear infections. Her blood work shows several elevated infection issues. She is in pretty bad shape. The plus for this very nice dog is that she is heartworm negative and no tick disease. It will take time, but we will update her vet needs one at a time with our vets help. Honey is in a CCR foster home with a caring person where she is learning how to be an inside dog and is enjoying life. She came to us quite confused with issues that we must now address for health reasons. She is a happy girl and very sweet, but you can tell she does not know the meaning of kindness. Her foster mom is giving her love and attention, something she isn't used to from her past. She is thriving and enjoys being a cared for dog. Please donate today to help us get her vet care done. Your kindness is greatly appreciated. Yes, she is older, but she deserves proper care, someone to love her and a lot of kindness in a home for however long she has left. Please be one of her Angels and donate to her vet care as shown above. Any amount will help and thank you for caring!

Pending Home in the works, they are willing to wait until he is ready. Donations Needed for vet care. You can donate by PayPal to larrydonnacarp@aol.com or send a check to CCR, P.O. Box 1050, Kannapolis, NC 28081. Not Available until mid to late May - We have a home in the works and will update and start taking applications if it doesn't work out. Please be patient as we work to get his needs addressed. We will update if there are any changes on this dog needing a forever home. Meet Tyson, a tri-colored cocker spaniel boy, 8 years and 5 months old. He is a retired breeder dog looking forward to learning how to play and hang out with humans. He came to rescue as a nervous, scared cocker boy with little to no love or attention from his owner. He is heartworm negative, will be neutered, has an ear infection, needs a dental and possibly dry eye. When he is ready for a forever home his name must remain as Tyson. He is a sweet boy and is starting to perk up a little. He is a bit nervous and slow warming up to you. He will need a safe, secure fenced yard. He can be with older teen children and will do best with a patient owner who will help him to blossom and thrive. He has had no leash training and will need your patience to learn what is expected, plus house training. He is not aggressive, just scared and insecure. His adoption fee will be $400 when he is done with all vet care needs. Your patience is appreciated.
