Story
Viola is available through Project POOCH. If you are interested in adoption, learn more and submit an application at pooch.org/viola Angel, sweet, perfect, demon, cuddly, goofy, silly, lovable, loyal, playful, exuberant, beautiful, amazing eyes, best friend forever—these are all words and phrases that apply to Miss Viola. At 8 months old she is still very much a puppy and learning every day. We see the progress she has made during her time at POOCH. She knows her basic cues—her sit is on point!—She walks well on leash, makes friends easily, loves to play with other dogs, and has learned to self-soothe when left alone. Viola is very smart and can learn quickly. She is going to need someone who wants to continue the work we have started with her. She's very food-motivated and eager to learn. If you are willing to put the time into raising a teenager, you are going to end up with a best friend for life. Viola does really well with her dog friends at POOCH, and she could be a great addition to a dog home. When going on adventures, Viola would love to be included! She is a brave girl who is gaining confidence in the world. If you’re looking for a buddy to join your adventures, she would be an excellent choice. Continue building her confidence, and you’ll have an amazing hiking partner as she has the energy to get up and go, but can settle for the drive back home. Like any puppy, Viola would benefit from continued training classes as she grows. Not only will that help her in her ‘teenage’ phase, but it can help a bond form! She could possibly blossom in dog sports or be a trick champion, but needs a partner to do so. If you’re looking for a couch potato, she is probably not the puppy you need. Project POOCH will provide 3 1-hour sessions with a Project POOCH dog trainer (in person if you live within a 1-hour radius of Woodburn, or virtually if you live farther out). Our Adoption process includes a meet & greet at our kennel inside Maclaren Youth Correctional Facility, and a home/overnight visit, where we bring Viola to you, help you set up your home for her, and she can stay with you for 1 night to 2 weeks to see if she is a good fit for you. We want to help setup Viola to be a successful addition to your home. Interested? https://www.pooch.org/adoption-application

Story
I'm available through Project POOCH. Learn more about me and apply at pooch.org/jasmine Pleasure to meet you, I'm Jasmine! If you were to look up what it means to have a zest for life, you might just find a video of me living it up! Whether I am hanging out in the office, or playing in the yards, there is absolutely no doubt that I love life. I'm accepting applications to share this enthusiasm with a new home! MORE ABOUT JASMINE: Jasmine came into POOCH ready to show all the guys what it means to love life. Shes unapologetically enthusiastic about hanging out with her people and throws herself into her favorite activities! This terrier lady had quite the toy drive, eager to chase balls and de-stuff stuffies. She rivals labs with her love of the ball. Speaking of things she loves, Jasmine loves people. She prefers to spend her time where the people are maybe we should have named her Ariel with how much she wants to be a part of your world! When working on training, Jasmine is extremely food-motivated. Unfortunately, she is not the best at finding the food you toss to her, so she does prefer you to hand it to her directly. Bonus: you get to see her hungry eyes while you do. Jasmine isn't the most interested in participating in playgroups, but she enjoys being a part of them while the other dogs run around. She is content to share her space with other dogs, as long as they aren't running her over. Due to concerns about hip pain and the possibility of chronic issues, we had our vet radiograph Jasmine's hips. We found that she actually has some concerns along her spine that could be a larger problem in the future with trauma. Going forward from that appointment, we have started her on medication to relieve inflammation and support nerve health. For now, Jasmine is loving life, enjoying her walks and playtime, and having a blast with her friends. We are cautious about her jumping and making sure any larger dogs are not roughhousing with her. Special Needs: -Jasmine has several herniated disks in her back as well as some nerve impingement by her tail. If Jasmine jumps off a couch or down stairs, basically any type of jumping that could shock her spine, it could lead to her back end becoming paralyzed. She is going to need an adopter who fully understands this potential and wants to take her on, knowing that she could lose the use of her back legs in the future. The nerve impingement near her tail could lead to full incontinence. The future is unknown for Jasmine, but what we know right now is that she is happy, full of life, and ready to bring joy to the right home! Jasmine will go home with a leash, harness, toys, a bed, a stroller, a week's worth of food, and 2 doses of flea/tick/heartworm preventative I'm available through Project POOCH. Story
Austin is at Project POOCH. To learn more and to apply, go here - pooch.org/austin I’m still figuring out how to be my sweet social self with new people, so please be patient with me! My human friends say that I am so cute and sweet. My dog friends say “woof-woof, bark” which ruffly translates to: “He’s a blast!” Austin is a sweet young man who is learning as much as he can about the world. He can be sensitive about new situations but is realizing that he doesn’t have to be scared of novel experiences. Since coming to POOCH he has discovered that other dogs aren’t scary, they’re actually a LOT of fun! He is enjoying playgroups with POOCH and daycare dogs, and is getting a lot of social learning from them, like how to play in the pool. He would probably enjoy having a dog friend to live with, maybe they can even help boost his confidence. The youth are doing a good job working on his basic cues, like sit and down, and his life skills, like crate training and handling for the vet and grooming. He can be slower to pick things up compared to others in his cohort, so would benefit from some patience in a handler. If you’re looking for a dog who makes you feel chosen when he loves up on you, Austin might be that special one. Bonus, he can be ultra goofy!

Story
Luna is a sweetheart who loves belly rubs and forehead scritches. She has an unending need for love and will let you know she wants more pets! Luna has bursts of high energy, followed by a need for good long nap. She is food motivated and will do just about anything for some pork or apples. Luna trains well and is intelligent. She's eager to please and needs someone who can give her the love and affection she deserves. Luna was unexpectedly gifted to us as a puppy. We love her so much but it's not a good fit. She craves having us around and we just aren't home enough to give her the support she needs. Luna would do best in a home with someone who is home frequently and available for walks and play time. Luna has never liked men and will bark at and shy away from them, but does fine once she is introduced and gets to know them.

Story
He’s a great dog, we got him for our daughter who’s 2. So he’s a little over a year old now, born in February. He’s great inside with just laying around, our daughter can do literally anything to him and he loves it. So a great family dog, not a lot of energy and is ok with laying around all day. Our problem is that we are a working farmer, and we have had several instances where he’s killed our chickens and even a lamb ones. He hasn’t seemed them out, it’s been if they get out and enter his area he goes after them but obviously on a farm that’s not really something we can have. We are really sad about making this choice, it’s going to break our daughter’s heart but I can’t in good conscience keep a dog that will kill my livestock. Loves humans and just wanted attention, plays very good with other dogs. Has great obedience, recall and manners.

Story
Hello, my name is Paisley! I'm an athletic and curious young lady with a playful side. Though I'm not sure about other dogs just yet, I'm sure we can become best friends in no time. I'm kennel trained, and I'd prefer to be in a home with older kids since I sometimes get so excited that I jump up on people - I just can't help it! I also love to run around and explore, so I'll need a backyard or at least a long walking route. I can be a bit of a puller on walks, so I'd benefit from some training and a gentle lead. I'm always up for a game of fetch or a good chew session - I just can't choose toys that are not super strong! If you think you can keep up with my active lifestyle, we might be a perfect match. Come meet me today and see for yourself
