Story
Zelda is a sweet, affectionate dog who truly loves her people. She's happiest when she's near her family, be it snuggling on the couch all day or heading out for a walk or jog. She enjoys being outdoors and is always up for exploring the trails, but she's just as content relaxing at home with you. Zelda is fantastic with kids and has never bitten anyone. She may take a few minutes to warm up to new men she meets, but once she does, she is loving and loyal. As she's gotten older, she has developed some increased anxiety, but she remains perfectly house-trained. She has never destroyed anything in the home and has never had accidents. She can stay home alone all day without any issues. She doesn't bark excessively but will alert you if someone is approaching the driveway or property, she's a wonderful little watchdog. Zelda has been the best family dog we could have ever asked for. We love her deeply but can't give her the attention she deserves as we are having a new baby.

Story
Wonka is sweet, playful, and ready to steal your heart! This 7-month-old, 39 lb Shepherd mix has classic goofy puppy energy and an even sweeter personality. Because Wonka didn’t have a ton of human interaction early on, he’s still building confidence—but he warms up fast and is eager to learn. He’s smart, food-motivated, and young enough to soak up training. He’s house-trained using a dog door, and crates like a champ during mealtime and naps. Now that he is older, he has been allowed to have free range of the house and doing great. He absolutely loves chewing on toys, wrestling with his dog friends, and then winding down with some quality snuggle time once playtime is over. He walks great on a leash and looks for approval and direction while on leash. A secure fenced yard will be required to help him feel safe as he continues to grow and explore the world.Wonka has a great history with other dogs, so new dogs coming and going don’t phase him at all. He will require a resident dog in his future home to help him contine to build confidence. He’s also lived with cats and does just fine, mostly minding his own business. Kids are fine too! He’s done well with children ages 6–18 and enjoys the attention and activity. If you’re looking for a fun-loving, dog-friendly, kid-friendly pup who’s equal parts playmate and cuddle buddy, Wonka is ready to be your golden ticket. If you are interested in this dog, fill out an application at this link to get the ball rolling - https://pethavenmn.org/adopt/adoptable-dogs/dog-adoption-application/The adoption fee is $550. Story
Tempo is a 2-year-old Husky mix and a sweet, sensitive guy. At 62 lbs, he has a gentle heart, a curious mind, and a playful streak that comes out once he feels safe. He can be shy at first and prefers slow, respectful introductions, but give him a little time and he’ll happily follow you around the house, lean in for pets, and invite you to play—sometimes by dramatically forcing his face into your arms or chasing his own tail for laughs. He is house-trained, crate-trained, and generally well-behaved, though he can get into mischief like exploring the trash if left alone too long. Tempo has some mild separation anxiety and benefits from being crated when left alone. His favorite toy is a tennis ball that he chews on and chases. Tempo loves being outside and going for walks, and he does best with regular exercise to keep his body and brain happy. He will require a fenced yard in his future home to give him the exercise he needs.Proper introductions will be needed when introducing Tempo to new friends because of his unknown history. He will pull toward dogs on walks like he wants to play, and he hasn’t met a cat directly, but he seems curious when seeing cats outside. Tempo hasn’t met kids yet, but he would likely do well with dog-savvy kids who let him warm up to them.Tempo is looking for a patient home that understands shy dogs, loves daily walks and outdoor time, and is ready to earn the trust—and loyalty—of a truly special sidekick! If you are interested in this dog, fill out an application at this link to get the ball rolling - https://pethavenmn.org/adopt/adoptable-dogs/dog-adoption-application/The adoption fee is $450. Story
Mayberry is a 6-year-old German Shepherd who loves to learn new tricks and tasks! She is a very fast learner, especially when given cheese, but she can be persuaded with almost any treat. But be prepared—she will show her appreciation through lots of kisses.Mayberry is house-trained and crate-trained, sleeping in her crate at night and when home alone. She isn't too much of a barker, and when lounging around or in the kennel, Mayberry will chew on hard bones for hours. She is cautious around strangers and takes a little bit to warm up to you. But once she gets to know you, she'll be stuck on you like glue.In her future home, Mayberry will need a a family who does not have other pets. She hasn't been around children yet, but she will need a home with dog-savvy children at least 13 years old and up who can respect her boundaries.Mayberry enjoys going for walks and getting to smell everything along the way. We're working on leash manners and she is doing well so far. She's extremely playful and loves to run around in the backyard and play fetch for as long as you can throw. Her favorite toys to play with are frisbees, squeaky toys and plush animals. Mayberry has a high prey drive so a fenced yard will be required while she's in training. She may also do well in a home without a fence but enough land where other people and pets aren't nearby. She is a very spunky girl with lots of character and would love to be given a chance with someone who has time to work with her and be patient. If you are interested in this dog, fill out an application at this link to get the ball rolling - https://pethavenmn.org/adopt/adoptable-dogs/dog-adoption-application/The adoption fee is $450. Story
Ollie is a 2–3-year-old Shepherd mix who perfectly balances adventure buddy and cuddlebug. At 40 pounds, he’s big enough to join you on long walks and outdoor fun, but perfectly content to curl up next to you on the couch afterward. He’s happiest when he’s near his people. He was quiet and subdued his first couple of days in foster care, cuddling almost immediately, and grew more playful and confident as he settled in. He’s fully house trained and hasn’t had any accidents in his foster home. Ollie knows “kennel” and will head right into his crate, though he's done well when left out and content to nap for hours.Ollie is great with other dogs and gets very excited when he sees them out and about. He does not have experience with cats or with children, so a proper introduction is recommended. This boy has high energy and will need more than just a quick stroll around the block. Multiple daily walks are recommended, and a fenced yard will be required in his future home to meet his energy needs. His favorite activity is running free and sniffing everything in sight, but also enjoys puzzle toys to keep his smart mind busy. He loves soft or crinkly toys (fair warning: they may not survive long), and he’ll happily chase a tennis ball — he just hasn’t quite grasped the concept of bringing it back. Ollie is the kind of dog who will run with you by day and curl up close by night.
