Story
This 3-month-old shepherd mix has the sweetest soul packed into a tiny 12-pound body (with lots of growing still to do, he’ll likely be a large boy someday!). As the runt of his litter, Lennie learned early how to be scrappy, but don’t let that fool you, his true passion in life is snuggling. This little guy is doing great with his puppy training. He’s already learning to potty outside (even in the snow!) and should be easy to house-train with consistency and patience. At night, Lennie sleeps in a playpen with an open crate inside, happily going in for treats and settling quickly to sleep through the night.Lennie is a fairly quiet puppy who settles easily into his routine and loves naps, though as a shepherd mix, he’ll likely grow into a medium-to-high energy dog who will benefit from regular exercise and enrichment.Lennie is shy but curious with my other dogs. He can be feisty and will set his boundaries, but he loves to give them kisses and follow them around the yard. He is also curious around cats and has not shown any aggression so far, though a proper introduction is always recommended. He does not have experience with children, so he will do best with dog-savvy kids.Lennie’s favorite things in the world are food, snuggles, and bunny-hopping after a soccer ball that’s nearly twice his size. He absolutely melts into your arms like a baby and gazes up at you like you’re his whole world. Sweet, resilient, and full of love, Lennie is ready to find a forever home where he can grow, learn, and snuggle to his heart’s content. If you are interested in Lennie, fill out an application at this link to get the ball rolling - https://pethavenmn.org/adopt/adoptable-dogs/dog-adoption-application/The adoption fee is $550. Adoption fee includes spay/neuter, heartworm/Lyme test, all age-appropriate vaccinations (distemper, rabies, and Bordetella), heartworm and flea/tick preventatives, and microchip implant (including registration). Adoption fees INCLUDE a mandatory sales tax of 7.525%. Age and breed are based on veterinarian and intake professional’s recommendation and not guaranteed as a rescue animal’s history is often unknown. Due to post-adoption services provided, we prefer to adopt within a 150-mile radius of the Twin Cities. However, we will consider up to 250 miles if the foster agrees to travel requirements and staff approval.

Story
Lincoln is a 14-week-old Shepherd mix with a big, bright personality. Currently weighing about 22 pounds, he’s a funny and playful pup who pounces on his toys like a cat, and when he’s tired, he turns into a total cuddle bug. After being a little shy at first, he’s confident and fully settled into his foster home. Lincoln is still figuring out house training but is making great progress, keeping his kennel clean overnight. He’s kennel trained and does great going into his crate for meals, naps, and overnight. Lincoln loves to play chase with other dogs, but otherwise doesn't have a lot of experience. He does not have much exposure to other dogs, cats, or small children, so a proper introduction would be recommended.Lincoln will be a high-energy dog so he will require a fenced yard in his future home. He's playful 100% of the time, but is just fine playing with toys alone or in his crate. He would love an active family who can help with leash training as well.Lincoln is ready to grow up with a family who can keep up with his playful, high-energy spirit! If you are interested in Lincoln, fill out an application at this link to get the ball rolling - https://pethavenmn.org/adopt/adoptable-dogs/dog-adoption-application/The adoption fee is $550. Story
Meet Clara! Clara is a 6-month-old German Shepherd/Husky mix with a short coat, a gentle heart, and the soul of an oversized lap dog. She’s a sweet, smart girl who wants nothing more than to be close to her people, personal space is not her thing. Once she trusts you, she’s all in: cuddles, kisses, and loyalty included.Clara has moderate energy for her age and breeds. She enjoys playtime with balls, squeaky toys, and especially other dogs, then is perfectly happy relaxing with her humans afterward. She would love a confident doggy friend to help her continue building confidence, as barking dogs and loud noises can make her nervous. She does well with cats, respecting their boundaries, and is gentle with kids (though she may jump up when excited to say hello). She’s still working on house training and currently needs frequent potty breaks, including at night. Clara is not crate-trained and does better when left in a room rather than a kennel, as she has some separation anxiety and may whine or claw briefly before settling. Treats, bones, and reassurance go a long way with her. She’s quiet overall, not very vocal, and eager to please, she corrects easily and learns quickly. If you’re looking for a loving, affectionate companion who wants to be your shadow and best friend, Clara may be the perfect match. If you are interested in Clara, fill out an application at this link to get the ball rolling - https://pethavenmn.org/adopt/adoptable-dogs/dog-adoption-application/The adoption fee is $550. Story
Mayberry is a 6-year-old German Shepherd who loves to learn new tricks and tasks! She is a very fast learner, especially when given cheese, but she can be persuaded with almost any treat. But be prepared—she will show her appreciation through lots of kisses.Mayberry is house-trained and crate-trained, sleeping in her crate at night and when home alone. She isn't too much of a barker, and when lounging around or in the kennel, Mayberry will chew on hard bones for hours. She is cautious around strangers and takes a little bit to warm up to you. But once she gets to know you, she'll be stuck on you like glue.In her future home, Mayberry will need a a family who does not have other pets. She hasn't been around children yet, but she will need a home with dog-savvy children at least 13 years old and up who can respect her boundaries.Mayberry enjoys going for walks and getting to smell everything along the way. We're working on leash manners and she is doing well so far. She's extremely playful and loves to run around in the backyard and play fetch for as long as you can throw. Her favorite toys to play with are frisbees, squeaky toys and plush animals. Mayberry has a high prey drive so a fenced yard will be required while she's in training. She may also do well in a home without a fence but enough land where other people and pets aren't nearby. She is a very spunky girl with lots of character and would love to be given a chance with someone who has time to work with her and be patient. If you are interested in this dog, fill out an application at this link to get the ball rolling - https://pethavenmn.org/adopt/adoptable-dogs/dog-adoption-application/The adoption fee is $450. Story
Truckee is a four-year-old German Shepherd mix who firmly believes he's a 55-lb lap dog. He approaches with his head tucked in and gently paws at you for attention, then trots around when he’s excited, following you everywhere to supervise your tasks. He settled into home life right away, fully house-trained and crate-trained. Truckee sleeps comfortably in his crate at night and stays in it when left alone, entering it on command like a pro. He came into foster care underweight and a little unsure, so he still looks for food, but he’s learning quickly that meals and love are consistent and safe.Truckee is gentle with everyone he meets though he will need to learn more confidence when making new friends. He is curious about other dogs and cats, though unsure, so a proper introduction is recommended. He’s also been kind to all people, but does not have a lot of experience with young kids.Truckee is energetic, loves anything outdoors, and gets two walks a day plus lots of yard time. He adores his tennis balls—fetch, chewing, carrying them around—you name it. He will require a fenced yard due to his energy level and can jump quite high. This sweetheart is looking for an active, patient family to give all his love to. Story
This 3-month-old shepherd mix has an irresistible, happy grin! Weighing 18 pounds now, he’s expected to grow into a large dog and will do best in a home ready to guide him through puppyhood and beyond. This young guy is off to a fantastic start with his training. He goes potty outside like a pro and should be easy to house-train with a consistent routine. Limon enjoys sleeping in his crate during nap time and does well following his foster home’s daily rhythm, showing a nice mix of independence and adaptability. While he’s generally quiet, he’s earned the nickname “Awoo” for the adorable little woo sounds he makes, especially when he wants attention.Limon is the perfect blend of playful and cuddly. He loves exploring the yard, wrestling with his sister, chewing on a good bone, and then hopping up on the couch to curl into your lap. Medium-to-high energy and smart, Limon will thrive with mental stimulation, playtime, and a family ready to enjoy both his adventurous side and his sweet, snuggly heart.Limon loves to play with his siblings and the other dogs in his foster home, so he would love a playmate in his future home. With cats, he has shown curiosity without any aggression, though a proper introduction is always recommended. If his future family has kids, he may need supervision for puppy mouthiness but he's a friendly pup.If you are interested in Limon, fill out an application at this link to get the ball rolling - https://pethavenmn.org/adopt/adoptable-dogs/dog-adoption-application/The adoption fee is $550.
