Story
Luci was rescued by a kind soul that found her by the river super skinny. She called us and we picked her up. We believe she is a purebred GSD. She is on the smaller side at just 40lbs so if you love the breed but can't handle a very large dog, Luci would be perfect. She is spayed, UTD on all required vaccines, HW tested negative and microchipped. Typical to the breed, Luci does have a prey drive so no cats or small dogs or other small pets. She loves people and gets along well with a large group of dogs here. Also, Luci is reliably housetrained. If you would like to make this beautiful and sweet girl your new family member, please email omlc7@hotmail.com or dogs4mylife@gmail.com and we will send our info and application. If you do not see a response, please check your spam folder.

Story
Princess is an approximately 3 year old spayed female shepherd mix that desperately needs a home. Her owner was unable to continue to feed her, and a neighbor stepped up to help care for Princess but they are not able to care for her long-term. Princess is good with other dogs, and after having multiple litters of puppies before getting spayed, she is very maternal. She is friendly with strangers but will let you know when they come into the yard! Princess appears to be house-trained and is non-destructive when she comes inside the house at night to sleep. Once she knows where “home” is, she is not one to wander and sticks close to where her people are. Princess is fully vaccinated but is unfortunately heartworm positive.

Name: Oso Breeds: German Shepherd Age: Adult Sex: Male Size: Extra Large Oso is a big German Shepherd surrendered due to continued issues between him and the other dog in the home. Oso took the brunt of the fighting it seemed but that hasn’t left him with any ill will towards other dogs. In fact, he loves other dogs and loves to play with them! He is an absolute lovebug, loves his people and will follow his owners to the ends of the earth if they asked him to. He is not good with cats. Oso does need a diet. He came in 110 lbs and a good 30 lbs overweight. He’s well on his way to losing weight and becoming a healthy pooch but he needs a home committed to keeping him on his diet and keeping him active. He absolutely loves his walks and playtime though! Oso is housetrained well and used to being left loose for the workday. He hates the crate and will fight tooth and nail so needs a home who is ok not crating. Oso is a big lovebug who is going to make a forever home so happy they chose him. Name: Hurricane Breeds: Lab/ Shepherd Mix Age: Young Adult Sex: Male Size: Large Hurricane is a Lab/Shepherd mix, about 8 months old who leads with his heart in every situation and has no idea he is a big boy. He is nothing but love and joy. He runs around with pure abandon and gives his heart completely to everyone he meets. Hurricane loves other dogs but can be overwhelming for more mellow or smaller dogs. No cats for him please though! Hurricane spent a lot of time existing on his own in a yard before so he is learning all about being in the house and he is loving the attention and being with his people. Housetraining is going well and he crates nicely for the workday. He is smart even if sometimes engaging his brain is low on his priority list. Hurricane is the true embodiment of love in a big furry body. Requirements: No cats Adoption Fee: $600 + tax. Story
Name: Dizzy Breeds: German Shepherd Mix Age: Young Adult Sex: Female Size: Medium Dizzy is a whirlwind of activity and shenanigans! If you are looking for a peaceful pooch to laze around with you, this is not the girl for you. If you are looking for an active companion for hikes, dog sports, adventures, and learning anything you want to teach her, Dizzy is right up your alley! She is a Shepherd mix, about 45 lbs and 10 months old. She is housetrained and crates well for the workday as long as she has an outlet for her energy prior and something to do in the crate (kong, chew bone, puzzle toy, etc). Dizzy is great with other large breed dogs but no small animals or cats for her please! She is best placed with adults because she still has that puppy mindset where people are her personal jungle gym and she hasn’t quite learned that kids aren’t just bowling pins to knock down and then drive-by kiss on her way while she runs onto the next activity. Requirements: No special requirements Adoption Fee: $550 + tax. This includes neuter/spay, current vaccinations as age appropriate, heartworm/tick testing in dogs over 6 months of age, deworming, microchip and current preventatives Interested in adopting? Story
Name: Nibbles Breeds: German Shepherd Age: Young Adult Sex: Female Size: Large Nibbles has spent the last year being bounced from home to home to home before ending up in a local shelter. The reasons you may ask? She sheds too much, she pulls on the leash, too much barking for an apartment, too much energy. Rehoming a dog that doesn’t fit your lifestyle is never a bad thing but it’s certainly important to research the breed you get first. Nibbles is a German Shepherd. Yep, she sheds. Yep, she’s got energy to burn and no one has spent time training her on the leash. Yep, she barks when she’s got something to say or hears something. If these bother you, Nibbles (or any German Shepherd) isn’t for you. If you want a smart, fun, energetic companion who would follow you to the ends of the earth if you asked her to she is most definitely for you. Nibbles is housetrained, crates well, and minds her manners in the house. She needs some work on leash manners and not jumping up on people but she picks things up fast and her desire to be told she is a good girl makes her a breeze to work with. She is good with other large breed dogs but no cats for her please. Nibbles is best suited for an adult/older child home. She is about 70 lbs, 3 years old. Requirements: No cats. No young kids Adoption Fee: $500 + tax. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.    DOB: 02/08/2021 Requires another dog in home: No, picky about her friends Okay with dogs of all sizes: Not good with small dogs - read more in profile  Okay with cats: No, dog savvy cats only Okay with children under 12 years old: Older, considerate kids only Requires a fenced yard: No Note: dogs must always be leashed whenever outside of a contained area. Invisible/ underground fencing is not recommended for most rescue dogs. Hello, my name is Raquel. I am a stunning, wrinkly-faced young adult female Belgian Malinois/Boxer mix with an adorable underbite who’s the perfect mix of energetic and relaxed. I am an unpredictable gal with a high prey drive so cats are not a good fit for me; I’m reactive when it comes to other dogs or unknown/sudden sounds like bikes whizzing by etc.; and I’m a pack follower so if there’s a fight, I may feel compelled to join the chaos. That said, I went to a training facility where there were many other dogs and I did great so I think with time, patience, and continued training I may overcome these ‘quirks’ of mine!! Hee, hee! Anyway, my favorite activities include cuddling with my people; going for leashed walks; snoozing on the couch; eating; playing with squeaky toys; chewing on bones/sticks; chasing the cat; chilling with my canine sib; running zoomies; and barking at strangers outside! I don’t like a lot of commotion and have been known to bite if someone comes into the house when foster mom is not home. I am, however, a very smart girl who will not only give myself a kenneled ‘time-out’ if I’m barking too much but I am potty trained and I know commands like “sit”, “down”, “kennel/crate”, and “heel”! Seriously, how brilliant am I!?! I am a great listener too which makes training a lot easier! Hee, hee!! I know that I’m a bit unpredictable right now but I’m still young and I really am a sweetheart who simply wants to find unconditional love in my own furever home with a patient family who will NEVER give up on me! My heart is SO full of love that I really want to share with YOU…please be my new family, I assure you I’m worth it! Love Raquel NOTE: Raquel has had a DNA test and is 38% Belgian Malinois, 18% Boxer and 17% American Pitbull Terrier Note that this dog has been treated for heartworm  and will need monthly heartworm preventatives year round for life.  Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders.  Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Some of the animals come from situations where they are lacking experience in a home and confidence in humans. In turn, they require another companion dog and/or a fenced in yard in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a particular dog whose bio states those needs and do not currently have them, please understand that your home might not be the right fit.  Please use the filter on our Adoptable Dogs page to find the perfect match for your home.      ***Be sure to check your spam/junk folder as sometimes our emails end up there***  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.If you have other questions about me you can email Underdog Rescue at <inquiries@underdogrescuemn.com> ADOPTION EVENTS:      Adoption events are updated at the top of each dogs animals' as their foster home signs up. Check back for updates on which events they will be attending. If an event is not listed within their bio above, the animal is not planning to attend.  Please understand that all of our pets are in volunteer foster homes and sometimes "life" happens and the foster family cannot make it to their scheduled adoption event. If you are traveling from a far distance to meet a specific animal, please understand we cannot guarantee event attendance. We recommend filling out an application and we will set up a private appointment. Private appointments are only scheduled after an application is submitted and approved. ADOPTION PROCEDURE: The first step in our process is to complete an online adoption application on our website: http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/adoptionprocess/   Note: In most circumstances Underdog Rescue will only adopt within 60 miles of Minneapolis, MN.  All of our foster animals can be seen by appointment with an approved adoption application. Contact us at http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/contact-us/ if you have further questions. FOSTER CARE: All of our animals are fostered in individual homes or doggie daycare facilities. While they are in our care, they are part of our families and given lots of love. We work on training, crate-training and socialization prior to adoption, but each bio is written by the foster as they see them, in their home. Each animal's behavior is evaluated and we have a sense of its temperament and personality, but it cannot be guaranteed. We look for adopters who will give each animal the wonderful life and permanent home that he or she deserves in time and with patience.  If you have an interest and ability to be a foster home, please visit our website  www.underdogrescuemn.com/foster-applications  and fill out a foster application. NUTRITION: Nutrition is vital to the rehabilitation and life-long health of our pets.  All of our foster animals are fed a premium diet such as NutriSource, Canidae, Orijen, Nature's Variety, Fromm, Pure Vita, Stella and Chewy's, Primal, or balanced raw diet.  All adopters are required to continue providing premium diets for the life of the animal. YOU CAN HELP: Not able to foster or adopt right now? Please consider sponsoring an Underdog. Your donation will help us buy dog food and pay for medical costs. Visit this link  www.underdogrescuemn.com/donate   to donate.  (Please note: A Paypal account is not necessary to use Paypal. Have you ever seen a big doggy PUPPY? Well if you saw my pics, you have NOW!! I am a great boy, a busy boy and I would LOVE a busy family too!! I came to the rescue ALMOST three YEARS AGO! And all my family has already been adopted but I am still waiting............................................ And I am not sure WHY, except I am a smart and busy boy. I am good with other dogs, I need to have slow introductions and strong leader or I would do best in a single dog home...one great thing about me is...you don't have to trudge me to the dog park.... i prefer to be at home with YOU. I am good with cats too!! Now, if you know the Belgian Malinois breed you will know that exercising my body is good, but it just makes me stronger and have more stamina ;) So you have to ALSO exercise my brain- that is the way to wear me out ;) Doggy puzzles, wearing a weighted backpack, all kinds of ways to do that! I want a really nice family who will hike, bike, run, swim with me too! I have a heart of gold and am ready to shine it right on your family, ADOPT ME!!! Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $450 (includes transport to your area)

Story
Tall, dark, handsome...beautiful brown hair, piercing eyes... You might think I'm a Channing Tatum or Ryan Reynolds type but, no, I'm a MOOSE! Unlike my cloven namesake, I'm not a big, scary protector. I'm a gentle giant, you might even say sensitive. I do great with other dogs, kids would be fun, and I'm learning to live with cats. I'm a little unsure at first, neutral once we've met. Continued, positive exposure and I'll be just fine with kitty friends! They'll do their cat thing, I'll do my moose thing. I am good in the crate, in the house, and in the car. I also know sit, down, place, heel, and come. I'll be a perfect gentleman for all of our adventures! Whether its hiking through the Yukon or just a pup cup run, I'm ready! Local adoption fee is $250 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $450 (includes transport to your area)
