Story
Giovanni was adopted from Secondhand Hounds. He loves to play fetch and carry around a stick. He is also great at cuddling and learning new commands. He is sky outside our home but can be a bit protective when it comes to strangers in our house. A trainer has advised us on how to introduce guests to make Giovanni comfortable. She said that with some time he can relax and get better at it, but we do not currently have the capacity for this. He is just over a year old and very gentle with me and my partner. He is shy, energetic, playful and protective.

Annie is a very sweet, very happy, very good dog. She’s great on a leash and has ran several 5k’s! She has never had people food but she will try and convince you otherwise. Knows basic commands. Kennel trained. Never had an accident in the house. Loves squirrels and rabbits. Thinks everyone is her friend. All around great companion. This is a very difficult decision for us and we are looking for a kind and loving home for her so she can run and play to her hearts content!

I need to rehome my 9mo old German Shepherd mix puppy. Unfortunately, I do not have the time to train him or give him the attention he needs. He’s a good dog with high energy he just needs training! He has separation anxiety so he would do best in a home that can offer him most of their time. I want him to go to a good home where he will be well taken care of. I will send all of his food/toys/kennel/etc supplies with him. All of his shots are up to date. I can answer any other questions you may have.

Story
Meet Brutus, He came to us with his best friend Maggie. These two do everything together and are very bonded. They had a family but sadly their owner passed away and so Brutus and Maggie found themselves looking for a place to call home. Brutus is a big sweet boy--he's 9 years old and weighs 100 pounds. He likes to be brushed and is treat motivated. We were informed that he is house trained but have not put that to the test. He does know ''sit'' and ''come'' but only if you have a treat to bribe him with. Due to his size he looks a bit intimidating at first but don't let that fool you, he is a big sweetheart! We can't wait to find him and Maggie a place they can call home again.IMPORTANT: Please read all below, especially if you live outside of Texas, which is where our rescue is located.Apply to adopt on our website: https://www.charmingpetrescue.org/adoptAll of our animals are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up to date on shots.ALL of our animals are located in Boerne, TX, but transport after adoption is available to other states for a $300 fee for dogs or an additional fee varying by location for cats. Meet Maggie, this gorgeous 9 year old, 80 pound girl came to us with another German Shepherd named Brutus who is her best friend. They both had a family but sadly their owner passed away and so Maggie and Brutus were brought to Charming Pet Rescue. We were informed they are house trained but have not put that to the test. Maggie is such a sweet girl, she loves being brushed and getting attention. When you offer her a treat she takes it from your hand so gently! Maggie knows ''sit'' and ''come'' but also just tends to follow whatever Brutus does. They really are the cutest pair! We can't wait to find them a family to call their own again.IMPORTANT: Please read all below, especially if you live outside of Texas, which is where our rescue is located.Apply to adopt on our website: https://www.charmingpetrescue.org/adoptAll of our animals are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up to date on shots.ALL of our animals are located in Boerne, TX, but transport after adoption is available to other states for a $300 fee for dogs or an additional fee varying by location for cats. Story
Hi Everyone, My name is Alfred, and I was born on August 5, 2021. I weigh about 57 pounds, and most of me is muscle because I have a lot of energy and enjoy an active lifestyle. I was surrendered recently though I am very sweet and a great protector. I love other dogs, too. My last Daddy and I loved each other very much, but Daddy is getting old and cannot take me for all the walks I need, plus we lived in a condo, so there isn't a lot of room for me to run. I would love a new family that has a yard and room for me to wear myself out, another dog would be great too. Children love me, and I love them. I have had good training and love doggie day care when I need to go. Would you please be my forever home? Daddy and I will miss each other very much, but Daddy says this will be best for me and I sadly agree.

Story
Hi, my name is Echo and I was adopted but recently came back to SHH to find a new forever. From the foster: I'm so very pleased to meet you! I'm good with kids of all ages as I'm being fostered at a home daycare and the kids are my favorite things ever. I also love other dogs - but, I can be a bit of a brat when first meeting them. It takes a slower intro to make friends, especially if I'm meeting them on a leash. But - I promise, if you give me a little time to know they are safe for me to be friends with - I am ALL in on the BFF mode. I like to spend my days busying myself with toys and doggie chewies. I like to stay active too by running and playing in the yard. However, I usually fit a few naps into my day as well. After all, who doesn't like a nap? Also, and this is a little embarrassing but - sometimes in new situations, I tend to piddle a lot at first. I've heard the vet call it submissive pee or anxiety peeing? I just get a little excited / nervous / unsure, and - I guess I piddle. It takes a little while but I really do get better with that with time, too - and I'm 100% house trained otherwise because I am a very smart lady!! I love to cuddle with my humans and the resident dog too. I'm searching for a fabulous forever home to share my life and love with! Do you want a great friend to join your family? Well, adopt me and let's start making lasting memories together!

Story
Our beloved pup Cowboy needs a new home! We have a German Shepherd/Blue Heeler mix, an absolutely wonderful dog. Because of a family member's allergies, we can no longer have him in our home. He is well-trained and loves people! He is house-trained, kennel-trained, and generalizes well to commands (he intuits what you want him to do). He eats two times per day and drinks a couple of bowls of water. He is good with being in the kennel but as a high-energy breed you will need to be a walker to own this one! Looking for a loving family to give this loving "leaner" a new home!

Meet Murphy! He’s an energetic, playful boy who can often be found with a toy in his mouth. He really enjoys playing with other dogs, so he’d do best in a home with another dog to be friends with. He’s fully house broken and sits on command. He’s great with other dogs, and does ok with cats. Murphy is about 2 years old and weighs 70 pounds. He’s a little shy at first, and he’s protective of his people, but he adjusts. He is a lover and walks very well on a leash. He enjoys being pet, but he doesn’t lick, jump on people or get on the bed. He’s comfortable relaxing on the floor near his people and will bring you his toys when he wants to play.IMPORTANT: Please read all below, especially if you live outside of Texas, which is where our rescue is located.Apply to adopt on our website: https://www.charmingpetrescue.org/adoptAll of our animals are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up to date on shots.ALL of our animals are located in Boerne, TX, but transport after adoption is available to other states for a $300 fee for dogs or an additional fee varying by location for cats. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please check below to see what upcoming adoption events I will be attending or apply here for a private meeting.  If you have other questions about me you can email Underdog Rescue at <inquiries@underdogrescuemn.com> ***Be sure to check your spam/junk folder as sometimes our emails end up there***   DOB: 02/08/2021 Requires another dog in home: No, picky about her friends Okay with dogs of all sizes: Not good with small dogs - read more in profile  Okay with cats: No, unless dog savvy cat  Okay with children under 12 years old: Older, considerate kids only Weight: 34 lbs Requires a fenced yard: No Note: dogs must always be leashed whenever outside of a contained area. Invisible/ underground fencing is not recommended for most rescue dogs. Hello, my name is Raquel. I am a stunning, wrinkly-faced young adult female Belgian Malinois/Boxer mix with an adorable underbite who’s the perfect mix of energetic and relaxed. That said, I can be a bit reactive when it comes to other dogs and I have been known to whimper, bark, lunge, or even bite at them. Little dogs like Pugs or Bulldogs seem to be a trigger for me so although I would love to have a doggie companion at my new home, he/she would need to be a larger, alpha dog who’s already established in the home. I am, after all, a great guard dog and will think of the home as ‘MINE’ if another dog is brought in after me. Additionally, I’m a bit of a follower which means I like to follow the pack so if other dogs are fighting, I will too. That said, I did go to a training facility where there was 30+ dogs and I did great so I think with time, patience, and continued training I will overcome these quirks of mine!!  Anyway, my favorite activities include spending time with and shadowing my people (even kids); going for leashed walks; chasing squirrels, bunnies, or birds (if given the chance); snoozing on the couch; eating food; playing with my toys; chilling with my resident doggie sib; running zoomies in a fenced yard; barking at the strangers/noises outside; and playing hide-n-seek with the cat. I admit I have a high prey drive, but I do well with a cat that can keep me in line! Hee, hee!!  I don't require a fenced in yard, but if you don't have one, I need a home who can give me a walk or run each day.  I don’t like a lot of commotion and if strangers come into the house when foster mom’s not there, I have been known to get a little uneasy and that can come out in the form of a growl or snap.  I am a very smart girl who will not only give myself a ‘time-out’ in my kennel if I’m barking too much but I am potty trained and I know commands like “sit”, “down”, “kennel/crate”, and “heel”! Seriously, how brilliant am I!!?!! I am a great listener too which makes training a lot easier!  I know that I’m a bit unpredictable right now but I’m still young and I really am a sweetheart who simply wants to find unconditional love in my own furever home with a patient family who will NEVER give up on me! My heart is SO full of love that I really want to share with YOU…please be my new family, I assure you I’m worth it! Love Raquel NOTE: Raquel has had a DNA test and is 38% Belgian Malinois, 18% Boxer and 17% American Pitbull Terrier Note that this dog has been treated for heartworm  and will need monthly heartworm preventatives year round for life.  Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders.  Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Some of the animals come from situations where they are lacking experience in a home and confidence in humans. In turn, they require another companion dog and/or a fenced in yard in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a particular dog whose bio states those needs and do not currently have them, please understand that your home might not be the right fit.  Please use the filter on our Adoptable Dogs page to find the perfect match for your home.      ***Be sure to check your spam/junk folder as sometimes our emails end up there***  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.  ADOPTION EVENTS:      Adoption events are updated as the foster home RSVP's to attend. Check back for updates on which events they will be attending. Please understand that all of our pets are in volunteer foster homes and sometimes "life" happens and the foster family cannot make it to their scheduled adoption event. If you are traveling from a far distance to meet a specific animal, please understand we cannot guarantee event attendance. You may wish to consider applying and setting up a private appointment. Private appointments are only scheduled after an application is submitted and approved.   ADOPTION PROCEDURE: The first step in our process is to complete an online adoption application on our website: http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/adoptionprocess/   Note: In most circumstances Underdog Rescue will only adopt within 60 miles of Minneapolis, MN.  All of our foster animals can be seen by appointment with an approved adoption application. Contact us at http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/contact-us/ if you have further questions.   FOSTER CARE: All of our animals are fostered in individual homes or doggie daycare facilities. While they are in our care, they are part of our families and given lots of love. We work on training, crate-training and socialization prior to adoption. Each animal's behavior is evaluated and we have a sense of its temperament and personality. We look for adopters who will give each animal the wonderful life and permanent home that he or she deserves. If you have an interest and ability to be a foster home, please visit our website  www.underdogrescuemn.com/foster-applications  and fill out a foster application.   NUTRITION: Nutrition is vital to the rehabilitation and life-long health of our pets.  All of our foster animals are fed a premium diet such as NutriSource, Canidae, Orijen, Nature's Variety, Fromm, Pure Vita, Stella and Chewy's, Primal, or balanced raw diet.  All adopters are required to continue providing premium diets for the life of the animal.   YOU CAN HELP: Not able to foster or adopt right now? It is with deep longing that we wish there was a breed called "cute" as we believe all of our dogs would fall under this new breed classification!
