Story
Max is 7 years old. We raised him as a rescue since he was 3 months old. He’s a lovable and loyal dog, Always good with children and adults. He has a high level of protection and prey instinct. He doesn’t get along with any dogs whatsoever. We live in an HOA with many other dog owners, our homes are in close proximity. With many dogs in the neighborhood, as well as another small dog in our family we’ve come to the heart wrenching decision to find him a better home. He needs to be in a caring home with someone who understands the breed and will protect him from interactions with other dogs. We’re not seeking money, just a loving home that can care for him properly.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Sadie is a gentle soul around 1-2 years old, who is always looking to play with other dogs. Her current mission is getting our couch potato to play more. She’s afraid of swimming but absolutely loves to walk in the shallows near shore, prance in the water and try to eat the bubbles! Her favorite toy is a tennis ball, she loves to chase multiple at a time trying to fit two in her mouth at once. She is anxious around new people, introductions require patience and a slow greeting.  The good thing is no matter how nervous she has been, she never reacts badly toward anyone, she just retreats. She doesn’t need tons of hands on love. She’s just happy to exist in your life! Sadie has proven to be a master at learning commands: sit, lay (for down), paw (her left paw), ‘Otro’ (Spanish for ‘other’, indicating ‘other paw’), take a bow, wait, stay, up (for into the car), down (out of the car), off (when sniffing the counters), and touch (hold two fingers out voicing ‘touch’ and she’ll touch your fingers with her nose!). We found doing these commands with her seemed to help her get comfortable with us, because they are something 'familiar' for her. She does need some chew toys available, otherwise she will find her own.  However, with a simple "A" or drop and she leaves it alone. Sadie is currently working on her leash manners, and knows how to walk very well at your side with only some pulling! However, Sadie is always so excited to say hello to other dogs! Dogs are a MUST for Sadie. She is her most happy self around them! Sadie is 100% potty trained and has had no accidents. She has met cats before and is mostly curious but decided it wasn't worth it after it took a swing at her. Sadie would do best in a home with a yard for all the playing she plans to do with her furry besties. She thrives on a schedule. Not an intense schedule but she loves knowing what’s next because she can do it automatically and please you! Like when you wake up it means it’s outside time. After that she runs to her kennel because she knows it’s good time! Then outside again. Then she knows it’s time to play in the house. She will go seamlessly from activity to activity because she knows that’s how you like to run your day. You’ll know Sadie is happy when she zooms around the yard! Playing tag with others is her favorite game. She loves car rides and has learned she doesn’t have to be afraid of the window going up and down. Sadie’s safe place is her kennel. She likes to relax here with a sheet over the top to create a ‘cave like’ environment and have an interesting bone to chew on. She loves her kennel to be surrounded by noise and chaos because that’s how she knows that the other dogs are nearby. Sadie is an amazing dog who is nervous but LOVES chaotic homes! If you have a home with loud children and other dogs and just want another sweet baby to dote on then sadie is your girl! Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, alter, prepaid microchip, dewormed, Rabies vaccine, DAPP vaccine, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX , flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue. Adoption fee: $525.00 Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.September 22, 2023, 9:06 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Hi! My name is Sadie Lou and I am a beautiful German Shepherd.  I was born approximately 11/20/19. My life was a bit tough before as my owners bred me a lot but when they couldn't afford to feed me, they surrendered me and my last litter of puppies to rescue.   Now I am living the good life!  The resident dogs in the house are teaching me how to play and be a dog.  Running around the backyard is so much fun!  I really like toys and playing with other dogs!  I am not an alpha dog and I don't know how big I am.  If another dog growls at me, I walk away.  I eat like a good girl with no food aggression and really like a little wet food on top of my kibble with each meal.   I do like the other dogs but I LOVE my humans!  I have learned to get on the couch for snuggles when my foster parents are watching TV.  I have also learned to get on the bed to lay next to my foster parents in bed!  I will always roll right over for a belly rub!    I will follow you to the bathroom if you let me because I want to be near you! I do pretty well on a leash but will continue to need a little guidance to get better.   I am very curious about cats and I get excited around them.  So far my foster mom will let me smell cats while she holds them.  I haven't tried to bite them, but they sure smell funny to me.  I am not sure if I would be able to contain myself with cats running around, but so far I am not trying to hurt them.     I go right into my kennel when my foster family is getting ready to leave as long as I get a treat. I am potty trained and have never had an accident in my kennel or in the house.  I haven't met any kids yet but I think I would like them!  I love people but I am a little nervous at first with new people.     I am a shepherd so I am on the clock to watch over your property.  I will bark at things but I am learning to listen and stop barking when my foster mom looks out the window and tells me it's OK.  If I am barking outside, I listen really well to come inside!   See what a good girl I am? Could you be my forever home? Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, alter, prepaid microchip, dewormed, Rabies vaccine, DAPP vaccine, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX , flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.//     Find our applications at www.midwestanimalrescue.org Adoption Fee $400 plus taxMy name is Gates and my foster mom says I am a 65lb happy-go-lucky pup ready to find a patient, active family that is loves to have fun!    I am a goof ball who spends hours playing with my foster sister and would prefer another dog in the house to show me the ways of how to be a good doggo, as the world can be scary sometimes.    I am getting the hang of my crate and sleep all through the night without a peep. I am working on my potty training and like to sit by the back door when I’m ready to go out. I love walks and don’t pull, but like to weave back and forth to smell all the things.    I mimic my foster sister and bark when she does, otherwise am pretty quiet. I have a prey drive, so cats may not be my best companion. I however, am interested in other dogs and humans! It takes me a minute to check things out to feel safe because everything is so new to me, but my foster fam is showing me that it’s not so scary.    Loud noises and fast movement are not my favorite, so older children that are gentle with me, is preferred. I am a silly, sensitive giant that forgets how big I am. Once I trust you, I am your buddy that follows you around and wants your affection.    A single family, fenced in yard would be my dream. I would love to continue my training as I haven’t had the chance to show how smart I am. I am excited to meet my forever family that is ready for endless fun and adventure.   Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.   or     *The pet you are viewing is a rescued pet which is most often from an animal control facility and does not come with a pedigree. The breed(s) listed are our best guess and are in no way guaranteed. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.//     Find our applications at www.midwestanimalrescue.org Adoption Fee $200 plus taxHi. I’m Bear! It’s said that each of us is a product of our environment. That’s only partially true in my case. Things were pretty rough for a while, but I haven’t let that affect my outlook on life. Now that I’m in a calm and kind environment, my friendly and curious personality can shine again! Despite being a senior, I have lots of energy and absolutely love walks and playing fetch! I sometimes pull when out walking—those darn squirrels and rabbits—but I correct easily. I get along great with cats, smaller dogs, and kids. My anal glands and elbow are healing nicely, and I eat my medicine when it’s hidden in food. I’m a good boy, accept my kennel, and know basic commands. I look forward to being a loyal companion for someone who likes to train and work with German Shepherds. She has had no formal training, but she has learned place all on her own.  She is smart and ready to learn, just needs an owner who will teach her. We think it is best while she is learning all the good things about obedience, that she be in a home with medium to dogs her size.   Because she is a herding breed, we think a home without cats would be best. Can you give this beautiful girl her forever?    *If you have previously applied with us please email adoptionatmars@gmail.com to reactivate your application with new interest.  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.   or     *The pet you are viewing is a rescued pet which is most often from an animal control facility and does not come with a pedigree. The breed(s) listed are our best guess and are in no way guaranteed.
