You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. //   Find our applications at www.midwestanimalrescue.orgAdoption Fee: $600 plus taxI'm so very pleased to meet you!  I'm good with kids and love other dogs. I like to spend my days busying myself with toys and doggie chewies.  I like to stay active too by running and playing in the yard.  However, I usually fit a few naps into my day as well.  After all, who doesn't like a nap?  I'm learning what potty pads are and that I really should go outside to do my dirty business but it takes time to establish those habits.  I love to cuddle with my humans too. I'm searching for a fabulous forever home to share my life and love with! Do you want a great friend to join your family?  Well, adopt me and let's start making lasting memories together!  * Puppies under 5 months should not be left alone for more than 4 hours at a time to help them with potty training and socialization.   If you have previously applied with us please email placement@midwestanimalrescue.org to reactivate your application with new interest.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.  or    When you adopt a pet from Midwest Animal Rescue and Services, your adoption fee covers: Microchip and registration, Core Vaccines including Rabies, Distemper and bordetella, age appropriate heartworm testing or FeLV-FIV testing, sterilization, heartworm/flea-tick prevention and deworming while in foster care.  Long Distance Adoptions: Animals who are not fully vaccinated and altered are not eligible for long distance adoption. We require a meet of the pet prior to adoption, which means coming to MARS.  We do not transport to potential adopters. How to learn more about a pet: Complete the application (click on the button above) to start our process for adopting or fostering a MARS Pet. Adoption fees are non-negotiable and can be paid by cashier's check, money order or credit card. We do not accept personal checks. Post Adoption: Any issues that arise after adoption are the full responsibility of the adopter after the finalization of adoption. We highly recommend Pet Insurance.  Adoption fees are only part of the expense of owning a pet, so we ask you to consider the costs for the life of the pet before adoption. We recommend pet insurance. Pet Breeds: The pet you are viewing is a rescued pet which is most often from an animal control facility or Shelter partner. The breed(s) listed are our best guess and are in no way guaranteed. If you choose to DNA test your adopted pet, test results may vary from company to company and our breed guess may not be reflected in those results as it is just that, our best guess without knowing a pet’s full history. //

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. //   Find our applications at www.midwestanimalrescue.orgAdoption Fee: $600 plus taxHe may be a little shy at first, but once he feels safe, he blossoms into a total love bug. He has no aggression toward people or other animals and is happiest when he has a trusted person to stick close to—he’s a true snuggle bug who finds comfort in having a safe place (and person) to run to when he’s unsure. He seems to prefer women, but is not aggressive toward men, just a bit timid at first. He does well with other dogs (currently living with one) and would thrive in a home with a confident older dog he can learn from. This playful, active puppy will need ongoing training, structure, and positive reinforcement to help him succeed. He’s slightly food motivated and eager to learn! He’s currently working on potty training and crate training, but he does whine and cry for about 15 min in the crate before settling down, unless its bedtime then he will settle down right away. He's already learning commands like sit, stay, off, leave it, and come. He is good on a leash and will stick by you. He does stairs just fine. He’s a jumper! He can clear a standard baby gate or dog pen, so a secure setup is a must. With patience, consistency, and lots of love, this affectionate pup will make a devoted and loving companion for the right family. Story
Tulane is a shepherd mix who is just looking for a quiet home filled with love. Once he knows he's home and safe he loves nothing more than to nuzzle up close to his people and be held. His happy place is being held, and if he's in your arms he will tolerate just about anything. Tulane is an anxious dog who above all is looking for a relaxed household where he can feel safe, if you give him that, he'll give you his heart.  When the world is overwhelming, Tulane knows the best place to find his own inner peace is in a pile of throw pillows. He is regularly found on the couch tucked in between several pillows, in a fort of his own making. To help him get less overwhelmed by the world Tulane takes a daily mental health medicine with his food, he's happy to gobble it right up with his breakfast and then the world is a bit less scary.  Tulane is potty trained, crate trained, and not prone to running away, making him ready to fit into his forever home. While he’s friendly with other dogs, Tulane would be best suited to live with a very mellow other dog, or as any only dog.  Tulane has a condition called patellar luxation, affecting his kneecap, but its easily managed and doesn't impact his life much. The vet recommends avoiding long walks on pavement, however, this is a blessing in disguise because Tulane doesn't really want to go on walks! He is a homebody who is likely to run and hide when he sees the leash.  If you’re looking for an affectionate, and deeply loyal companion who will adore being by your side, Tulane is ready and waiting. Come meet him and you just might find the missing piece of your heart. Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, alter, rabies vaccination if age appropriate, prepaid microchip, dental, dewormed, Distemper combo vaccines appropriate to age, Bordetella vaccine, heartworm and flea/tick preventative while in rescue. Adoption fee: $525.00Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.December 1, 2025, 1:53 pm
