Story
Dot is an 11-week-old German Shepherd mix with a curious, thoughtful personality. Weighing in at about 15 pounds now, she loves to romp and wrestle like any puppy, has an independent streak, and loves exploring the yard before trotting back in for cuddles. Sometimes, she's so inquisitive that she stays out by herself for a minute or two before wanting to come in.Dot is affectionate, people-friendly, and very handleable, making her a great fit for training. She’s making solid progress with house training using frequent outdoor trips and puppy pads, and she’s currently working on pen training. She also already knows to "sit" for treats!Though somewhat cautious at first, Dot does well with other dogs and currently lives with a cat with no problems. She has not met any children while in her foster home.Like most puppies her age, she has bursts of high energy followed by sudden naps, and she can get a little yappy during intense play sessions. Her foster family loves her bold little spirit, she’s brave enough to test boundaries with the resident big dog, then sweet enough to curl up next to him minutes later. If you’re looking for a playful, smart, and slightly independent puppy who will grow into a loyal companion, Dot might be your perfect match! If you are interested in Dot, fill out an application at this link to get the ball rolling - https://pethavenmn.org/adopt/adoptable-dogs/dog-adoption-application/The adoption fee is $550. Adoption fee includes spay/neuter, heartworm/Lyme test, all age-appropriate vaccinations (distemper, rabies, and Bordetella), heartworm and flea/tick preventatives, and microchip implant (including registration). Adoption fees INCLUDE a mandatory sales tax of 7.525%. Age and breed are based on veterinarian and intake professional’s recommendation and not guaranteed as a rescue animal’s history is often unknown. Due to post-adoption services provided, we prefer to adopt within a 150-mile radius of the Twin Cities. However, we will consider up to 250 miles if the foster agrees to travel requirements and staff approval.

Story
Little Dipper is an 11-week-old Shepherd mix who's very mature for her age: she enjoys her daily “affirmations”, a sure sign she’ll thrive with a loving family. Currently weighing in at 13 pounds, she’s the perfect size for both adventures and couch snuggles.Little Dipper adjusted quickly to her foster home and continues to blossom into a happy, affectionate companion. She is already picking up on potty training quickly and shows great progress every day. She’s also doing wonderfully with crate training, after a brief adjustment, she now happily settles into her crate and treats it as her safe, cozy space. The only thing she’s still unsure about is the vacuum, but she’s gaining confidence every day. When she's with other dogs, she's very curious and playful making for a great playmate. She's also great with children. Her previous foster home had cats, and she didn't seem to mind them much. This sweet pup is everything you’d hope for in a young dog: playful, curious, and eager to learn. Like any puppy, she has bursts of playful energy followed by well-earned naps. She loves tug-of-war, squeaky toys, and anything she can chew on. If you’re looking for a fun-loving puppy who will keep you smiling, learning, and cuddling every day, Little Dipper might just be your perfect match. If you are interested in Little Dipper, fill out an application at this link to get the ball rolling - https://pethavenmn.org/adopt/adoptable-dogs/dog-adoption-application/The adoption fee is $550. Story
Tempo is a 2-year-old Husky mix and a sweet, sensitive guy. At 62 lbs, he has a gentle heart, a curious mind, and a playful streak that comes out once he feels safe. He can be shy at first and prefers slow, respectful introductions, but give him a little time and he’ll happily follow you around the house, lean in for pets, and invite you to play—sometimes by dramatically forcing his face into your arms or chasing his own tail for laughs. He is house-trained, crate-trained, and generally well-behaved, though he can get into mischief like exploring the trash if left alone too long. Tempo has some mild separation anxiety and benefits from being crated when left alone. His favorite toy is a tennis ball that he chews on and chases. Tempo loves being outside and going for walks, and he does best with regular exercise to keep his body and brain happy. He will require a fenced yard in his future home to give him the exercise he needs.Proper introductions will be needed when introducing Tempo to new friends because of his unknown history. He will pull toward dogs on walks like he wants to play, and he hasn’t met a cat directly, but he seems curious when seeing cats outside. Tempo hasn’t met kids yet, but he would likely do well with dog-savvy kids who let him warm up to them.Tempo is looking for a patient home that understands shy dogs, loves daily walks and outdoor time, and is ready to earn the trust—and loyalty—of a truly special sidekick! If you are interested in this dog, fill out an application at this link to get the ball rolling - https://pethavenmn.org/adopt/adoptable-dogs/dog-adoption-application/The adoption fee is $450. Story
Ollie is a 2–3-year-old Shepherd mix who perfectly balances adventure buddy and cuddlebug. At 40 pounds, he’s big enough to join you on long walks and outdoor fun, but perfectly content to curl up next to you on the couch afterward. He’s happiest when he’s near his people. He was quiet and subdued his first couple of days in foster care, cuddling almost immediately, and grew more playful and confident as he settled in. He’s fully house trained and hasn’t had any accidents in his foster home. Ollie knows “kennel” and will head right into his crate, though he's done well when left out and content to nap for hours.Ollie is great with other dogs and gets very excited when he sees them out and about. He does not have experience with cats or with children, so a proper introduction is recommended. This boy has high energy and will need more than just a quick stroll around the block. Multiple daily walks are recommended, and a fenced yard will be required in his future home to meet his energy needs. His favorite activity is running free and sniffing everything in sight, but also enjoys puzzle toys to keep his smart mind busy. He loves soft or crinkly toys (fair warning: they may not survive long), and he’ll happily chase a tennis ball — he just hasn’t quite grasped the concept of bringing it back. Ollie is the kind of dog who will run with you by day and curl up close by night. Are you ready for Ollie? If you are interested in this dog, fill out an application at this link to get the ball rolling - https://pethavenmn.org/adopt/adoptable-dogs/dog-adoption-application/The adoption fee is $450. Story
Maxx is a 2-year-old Shepherd with a big body, soft heart, and just a touch of lovable chaos. At nearly 100 pounds, he’s truly a gentle giant who doesn’t quite realize his own size. He loves his belly rubs and will melt down at your feet to ask for one.Maxx is also a local celebrity and destined for the silver screen. Recently he was on WCCO with our Executive Director Kerry D'Amato https://www.cbsnews.com/minnesota/video/maxx-is-roughly-95-pounds-of-pure-love-looking-for-a-forever-home/#xMaxx is fully house trained but not a fan of being crated (especially with the door closed). He does well having free roam of the home and settles nicely when he feels safe. He’s incredibly people-focused, eager to please, and already showing off his smarts with commands like sit, shake, lay down, stay, come, and even “bang.”Maxx is curious but doesn't have a lot of experience with other dogs and cats, so he will do great with slow introductions. He cannot live in homes with young kids (under 13) simply due to his size — he could easily knock little ones over without meaning to. Older, dog-savvy kids would be a better match. This boy needs an active home. He has lots of energy and will thrive with plenty of physical exercise and mental stimulation. Fetch with a ball is a favorite, and he also enjoys keeping watch out the window like the good neighborhood supervisor he is. A securely fenced yard will be required in his future home to meet his energy needs and for safety. He’s a big, goofy, loving dog who just wants to be near his people and be told he’s a good boy (which he is). With the right mix of exercise, structure, and love, Maxx is going to be an incredibly loyal and fun companion. If you are interested in this dog, fill out an application at this link to get the ball rolling - https://pethavenmn.org/adopt/adoptable-dogs/dog-adoption-application/The adoption fee is $450.
