Story
Milo was adopted from ARM as a young puppy back in 2018 as part of a litter of Aussie mixes. He has been well loved by his family for almost 7 years now and they are very sad to say he is looking for a new home as he has become stressed around the young toddler in the home and should not be in a home with children under 5. Milo is a very loving and loyal dog to his humans, loves to be pet, and greets everyone with excitement. Milo is a healthy Aussie mix (They are German Shepherd, Cattle Dog, Catahoula Leopard Dog, and finally a little Aussie.) weighing about 75 lbs. He suffered dual broken legs back in 2019 when he ran in front of a vehicle. His injuries healed well with surgery, only showing a slight limp temporarily if he lays in an awkward position for a period of time. As he ages, Milo may need care and monitoring for any issues with the screws in his hip bones and may develop arthritis. At current, he does not have any restrictions for activities and has been healthy and happy ever since. Milo does well with a female dog in the home that he has been with since a puppy and enjoys playing with other dogs outside. He does have a tendency to show resource guarding with other dogs when around food, vying for attention from preferred humans, or in indoor spaces, so he may be best as the only dog or with a female dog. Milo is house trained and does well in a crate. He currently lives in a home that has invisible fencing and does well. He also generally does well off leash and has reliable recall with those he's familiar with. He walks well on a leash. Milo is currently being fostered by his owner in the southern suburbs of the Twin Cities. The details: Need fence: Currently lives with invisible fencing, can be off lead on acreage. Will need some kind of fence in a neighborhood, but likely not needed if on acreage Good with dogs: Does have resource guarding tendencies, may be best as an only dog or with a female dog Good with cats: No known exposure Good with children: Not good with children younger than 5 years old All of our dogs live in foster homes with volunteers. We need an approved application on file to set up a meeting with a dog you might be interested in. You can find our application at www.aussierescuemn.com. All dogs have an adoption fee of $400 plus MN sales tax. We pride ourselves on matches that are awesome for both the dogs and your family. Aussie Rescue of MN is here for support, advice, and as a safety net for our dogs for the rest of their lives.

Story
Carrots is an owner give up to our rescue. Below is the information her owner gave us initially. I have had Carrots for almost two years now. She has been the most amazing friend I could have asked for. She rarely barks and only lets out an occasional whine if she needs to go out or is wanting some attention. She’s a well behaved for a dog that lives her life with me in a small dorm and can only go out to play fetch or go for a walk when I’m not at class or work. She needs better. In general, she has been amazing for the hand she’s been dealt. I actually couldn’t be more grateful for how well she’s treated me as she’s grown to be near a full two years old!! I am having to part with her because she is still a puppy, and I’m a Junior in college struggling to work and commute on weekends when I have to, and give her the attention she deserves. She’s trained well. She sits on command, she can stay if you ask, she’s house trained, and she’s comfortable with her kennel if needed. She uses a harness for walks and does great. She was trained to walk on the left of you and she’s usually pretty good about staying focused. She has started the process of being an ESA certified dog but has not rec'd her second certification. Her previous owner said that she was around a child once and growled so we do not recommend her with small children. She has never been around cats so we cannot say whether she will or will not be okay arounds feline friends. She would make a great family member for an active family. If you would like to add Carrots to your home, please message us and we will send you an application. Carrots is being fostered in MS but included in your adoption fee is transport to a location near you by Rescue Riders Pet Transport, the most animal friendly transport on the road! The adoption fee includes her medical for a health certificate and transport to you. We look forward to hearing from you soon!

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. //   Find our applications at www.midwestanimalrescue.orgAdoption Fee $500 plus taxMeet Arthur Arthur is a handsome 3-year-old German Shepherd looking for a loving foster home. He came to the shelter as a stray, and although his owner initially reached out, he was never reclaimed and is no longer responding. Now, Arthur is ready for a fresh start with a family who can offer him stability, patience, and care. Arthur can be a bit reserved when meeting new people and may seem shy at first. However, once he feels comfortable, his sweet and deeply loyal personality truly shines. He forms strong bonds with his people and will thrive in a home that’s willing to give him a little time to settle in and build trust. If you have room in your heart and home for a gentle, devoted companion, Arthur is ready to reward you with loyalty, love, and plenty of tail wags. If you have previously applied with us please email placement@midwestanimalrescue.org to reactivate your application with new interest. All fees are subject to MN sales tax and a processing fee at the time of adoption. We recommend pet insurance. Pet Breeds: The pet you are viewing is a rescued pet which is most often from an animal control facility or Shelter partner. The breed(s) listed are our best guess and are in no way guaranteed. If you choose to DNA test your adopted pet, test results may vary from company to company and our breed guess may not be reflected in those results as it is just that, our best guess without knowing a pet’s full history. //
