Hi, my name is Rocket! I'm an owner surrender from Minnesota. My name is Rocket, but my foster family calls me Mary Lou. Mary Lou has been living with us for quite a while now and she is such a fun and loving girl. She is very energetic and LOVES games! Mary Lou enjoys playing with her toys and chasing balls in the backyard. She even made up a game of hide and seek and trained us how to play! Mary Lou is very playful and incredibly smart! A good nap on the couch or under your desk at your feet is also appreciated, because it can wear a puppy out playing so hard. It is one of the cutest things ever when she gets the zoomies; she is so fast! Mary Lou, is also good about entertaining herself and will settle down and work on a bone if it isn’t time for playing together. Mary Lou would be best in a home where she isn’t left alone for too long. She has never had any accidents in the house and isn’t destructive at all, but she definitely prefers to be in the company of others. Mary Lou, is on medication for her anxiety and is working hard with her trainer; she has come a long way since she first arrived at our house! She’ll need to continue with medication and her adoption includes some training sessions. We’ve seen a ton of improvement, but coordinated introductions with people continue to be necessary. A home with a fenced in yard and no shared walls are also necessary. A quieter street would be amazing for her. Going on walks, meeting other dogs, and dealing with loud noises are other things she can work on with you and her trainer. From her non-reaction to the rabbits and squirrels in our backyard it appears she doesn’t have a strong prey drive, but it is unknown how she would do with cats. For now, she would thrive being the only animal in the household. Everyone, even the “not dog people”, fall in love with Miss Mary Lou. If you can put in the time to help her feel safe and see how great life can be, you will be rewarded with her charming smile, her sweet snores, and a buddy who is always at your side. Mary Lou is a real gem!

Doug is so sweet, he’s happy, loving and playful - everyone that meets him, adores him. He's super excited to greet new people. He is intelligent, welcomes learning and praise, is treat motivated and always gentle when taking food from your hand. When you need him to be calm, he settles right in and loves to snuggle on the couch, but likes his bed too / he sleeps in the best but weirdest positions. He likes car rides (but not the car wash!) and thoroughly enjoys being in our presence. When we come home, he meets us with a toy and "talks" to us with the squeakers. He is a VERY good dog and will be a loyal companion. He lived between the city and a farm so likes to chase rabbits and squirrels; he can get quite distracted in the yard and while out on walks, but…he has made GREAT strides with listening and following commands and even runs alongside while my boyfriend rides his bike. We do not kennel him; he's been with us since July and hasn’t had an accident in the house. He has never shown aggression towards anyone in our home or yard – including our mailman! We believe Doug would do well as the only pet, or maybe with a female resident dog (and a slow introduction), also in a home with older kids – he doesn’t understand that his “affection” can be a bit too much for the littles. Blu was a stray from Houston Texas. My daughter who is living there shipped him to us after being neutered. We have 2 other dogs already. He is amazing toward the 3 of us that live in our home, but wants to be aggressive toward others that enter our home. Really protective and I just had another kid come home from school so trying to balance when both are home is a challenge. Would be great to be with a person wanting to train him that doesn’t have other animals to distract.

Gemma is a beautiful, two year old pit bull. She is from Arizona, where she was severely neglected by her previous family. We found her in Scottsdale through The Desert Dog Project (thedesertdogprojct.org) rescue, which is run by a friend. At first, Gemma seemed like the perfect dog for us so we drove her home, to Minnesota. Gemma is clingy and has a lot of anxiety due to her previous neglect and abandonment. She needs a warm, loving home without other animals. We have trained her to leave our 3 cats alone, but it took some time and work, and from time to time, we still see the look in her eyes telling us she is thinking about attacking She seems to covet women over men but easily latches onto whoever gives her positive energy and attention. A perfect day to Gemma is to snuggle with you/at your side in bed, on the couch or simply playing shadow, as she follows you around the house. We are moving and cannot bring her sweet self with us. She is young but overall a really good dog.
