A portion of Coco's adoption fee has been sponsored by her friends at The Murray Fund. The adoption fee sponsorship credit of $325.00 will be applied during the contract process Hi, my name is Coco! From the Foster: A typical day with Coco, I am home with Coco all day, with the exception of appointments, errands, etc. After nearly 2 years in our home, Coco has settled in and become a delightful companion dog. She gets along well with, and seems to take cues from, my black lab with a calm temperament. I have modified living arrangements such that the cats are kept separate from her- she seems to have high prey drive and due to limited vision perhaps cant really tell them apart from a squirrel. I had hoped after this long hearing and smelling them, and occasionally seeing them through the gate, she would have become accustomed to them, but alas she is just not a kitty dog. I keep Coco's medication pretty consistent, aiming for 12 hours apart. Coco and Lucy (my resident dog) both sleep on my bed all night. They don't get up until I do, and are great about going right outside and then in to eat and Coco has her oral meds, eye meds, and insulin. She is a champ taking her meds, doesn't resist at all. Throughout the day, Coco and Lucy go between my office and bedroom, taking long naps (they are 9 after all). Coco loves to race outside into the fenced yard with Lucy and search for real or imagined critters. The only thing that deters her is rain! A strange sound or presence will get her raising the alarm, but she settles down quickly and back to her sniffing and taking long luxurious naps in the sun. She may alarm due to her limited vision, but no significant limitations. Coco loves to be where I am, and would rather tag along in the car than be left behind, but thanks to occasional medication and my very mellow black lab, she is feeling more secure and safe as time goes on. She does fine out of the crate in the house, does not chew on unacceptable items, and can wait several hours to go outside. She has never had an accident indoors. Coco loves a long walk, especially a leisurely sniffari. Due to a lot of training, she is not nearly as concerned about other dogs out on walks as she used to be. I try not to get too close for comfort for her, and help her feel safe and confident. SHH can set an adopter up with ongoing training, too. She is pretty stressed, though, if she cant get out of perceived threat area, so instead of dog parks or busy recreation areas, we stick with the familiar neighborhood and a quiet regional nature park. Evenings are super-relaxed. Right after eating their dinner, both pups settle in for reading, watching a movie, or going to bed early. Coco loves to lay on the couch next to a warm body. She isn't a lap dog, not a hugger, but does love to snuggle. Through the course of my veterinary care at The Bond Between it was found that I have diabetes mellitus, hypothyroidism, and mature cataracts. Luckily, my foster and the doctors at The Bond Between and BluePearl took great care of me, and I am now ready to find my forever home! I had surgery for my cataracts, and I can see much better now. Future adopters should know that due to my multiple endocrine diseases, I will need to continue to work with a primary veterinarian, as well as an internal medicine specialist (I am currently under the care of Dr. Mazepa at BluePearl.) To manage my diabetes, my adopter will need to administer insulin everyday, as well as monitor my glucose levels with the guidance of a veterinarian. I am also on medication for my hypothyroidism. It is recommended that discuss with my future vet clinic about recommended follows ups and labwork (CBC, chemistry, UA, Fructosamine and T4).

Story
Hi! My name is Bill and I am from Minnesota. From the foster: Are you a Ted looking for a Bill with whom to have a most excellent adventure?! Party on, dude! Have we got the Bill for you. Bill is a young guy who's ready for all kinds of action. Looking for a hiking partner? Take Bill! Need to do some yard work? Bill will aerate your lawn with daily zoomies! Watching Netflix after a long day? Bill will be your snuggly couch buddy! Unlike his movie counterparts, Bill's not about to flunk out of any classes; he's extremely food motivated and easy to train, and he takes treats gently. He's housebroken and will quickly figure out the bathroom routine at your house (for a treat). He'll give back those socks you left on the floor (for a treat). He'll sit, and lay down, and shake paws (for a treat). With Bill, treats are currency -- and if you run out of treats, affection will do in a pinch. He's a friendly pup who craves all the love and attention you have to spare. And with a noggin like his, Bill's got plenty of real estate for maximum head pats, which he will gladly accept from anyone. The most important rule of an excellent adventure is to be excellent to each other - and when he's set up for success with plenty of space and structure, Bill will be a wonderful addition to your family. He can live in a multi-dog household that is committed to facilitating slow introductions at his pace and willing to give him lots of decompression time and gentle supervision while he perfects his impulse control. Bill's future canine sibling(s) should be easy-going and well-adjusted. He plays rough and rowdy (maybe he was a pro wrestler in a past life) and any other dogs in the household should be able to match that energy, or at least tolerate it. The introduction to his foster's resident dog took several weeks, but now the two rough house together and enjoy tandem walks, and Bill is fully integrated into his foster's lives. Bill doesn't require another canine companion, to be clear - he'd also be a great only pet! (For sure no cats. His fosters have tested that one out for you already.) When it comes to human roommates, older kids only for Bill...he can be a little jumpy and might knock a very small child down in his excitement. Originally picked up by Animal Control as a stray, Bill's life may not always have been an excellent adventure, and he has a few scars on his face to prove it. To overcome the adversity of his unknown history, Bill asks for patience and understanding from his new family. He is skittish about very loud noises and needs a safe, quiet place to retreat when he feels uncomfortable. He must be allowed to eat his meals separate from any other resident dogs. For a medium-sized guy, he pulls surprisingly hard on walks and will benefit from consistent and dedicated leash training. He is very alert to other dogs he sees in the neighborhood but has been receptive to desensitization methods (namely, he's showered with treats when he sees other dogs). Despite a few quirks, Bill has plenty of other tubular traits: he's fully crate trained and non-destructive when given free reign of his foster's first floor while they're at work - although he is still a puppy and has been known to target the usual, tempting suspects in his foster's house (socks, underwear, phone charging chords, etc.). If he grabs something he shouldn't have, he'll readily give it up in exchange for a treat or a toy. He does not display any separation anxiety when left alone during the day. He's active but will also spend hours snoozing on a dog bed. He plays with toys to keep himself entertained. He rides wonderfully in the car. He's eager to please and adorably goofy. Sometimes he barks (especially when he hears the neighborhood dogs), but most often he'll cough or snort or sneeze at unexpected sounds. He'll be absolutely pumped to see you every day when you walk through the door. Bill's just a good dude who's adored by his fosters and has all the most stellar years ahead of him. For Bill, the best place to be is your home, and the best time to be with you is now.

I am looking for a temp foster or forever home! My current foster mom has a surgery scheduled for the end of April and I need to find a temporary foster home for those dates. 4/29-5/27 Please CLICK HERE to sign up to foster! Hi, everyone! My name is Chilli! My foster mom says I am practically *perfect* in every way. I am snuggly, playful, affectionate, gorgeous, house trained, and crate trained! I currently live in an apartment and do well with shared walls! I am a strong girl so need someone who handle me during walks. See?! I told you - practically PERFECT! Which leads me to the word "practically" - I do have one small issue. I take time to trust doggy friends. What does this mean? With slow, proper intros (think 1+ week of baby gates, smells, crate and rotate) I become besties with other dogs. I am SUPER appropriate with other dogs, good at reading their signals, and love to play. But until I trust my fellow pups, I am a "freak on a leash" they say... which means no dog parks, no breweries, no doggy playdates for me! So, do I sound like the perfect pooch for you?! I hope so! I can't wait to find my family!

I am Radio. I am from Minnesota. Radio is a loving boy that is continuing to learn his manners! He is the biggest snuggler and craves long cuddles with belly rubs while binge watching Netflix. Radio loves to chew on his bone for hours, play with toys, spend time sleeping with other dogs, and lives for a good game of tug-a-war with his humans. Now that it is nicer out he enjoys having the freedom to run around the fenced-in backyard and explore as long as he doesn't get too cold. Radio is potty trained on a schedule with an occasional accident if we wait too long, he is starting to give cues at the door when he needs to go outside, and will let you know if he has any emergency overnight. He does well in the kennel when needed with little whining, but it is best to make sure he has a bone to occupy him. He tends to sleep in his kennel overnight unless he is snuggling with a human. Radio gets along well with other dogs of all ages, but he does better with those introductions when the meeting space is not his home. When it is his home the introductions may have to be slower and staggered as he can be a little protective. Radio does well with adults, teens, and school age kids. He has not been around younger kids.

Story
Hi my name is Sir Wigglebottom. I am from a local shelter. From his foster family: We call him Wiggles, Wiggy, or just Puppy. He is the sweetest guy around. He loves other dogs and is very curious about cats. He can be a little rambunctious, but settles down easily and would prefer to be on your lap when doing so. He does not really know what personal space means, but we love every second of it. He is crate trained and potty trained! Although he doesn't have an obvious way of letting you know he has to go outside. Most of the time he will just go halfway to the door and just stare at me so if you aren't paying attention you might miss it. We have not had him in his crate for a few weeks now. He does fine left out for most of the day and loves to snuggle in bed at night. He is still very much a puppy as far as playing rough and can be a little mouthy. We have been working on this, but he still has some growing up to do. He does get startled easily. Loud noises and things like boxes and plastic bags tend to make him a little fearful. He will need some help to build up his confidence, but has already come a long way since we first brought him home. He will definitely keep you entertained and make a wonderful addition to your family. From The Bond Between Vet Center: My name is Sir Wigglebottom. I came into rescue with a skin condition called demodex mange. It's caused by a small parasitic mite. It's been a long road to recovery, but I've recovered amazingly and will be neutered 2/13 and will be ready for my furever home after that! Can't wait to meet you!

Story
I am Bourbon. I am from Kentucky. From his foster: Introducing Bourbon, a lovable 2-year-old ready to steal your heart! This handsome pup thrives when surrounded by his beloved humans and is guaranteed to shower you with affection every chance he gets. With his friendly disposition, Bourbon eagerly welcomes new friends of all ages, including adults and children alike. Bourbon is not just all charm - he's also a smart cookie! He's already mastered the art of housebreaking and crate training, making him an ideal roommate. Speaking of crates, Bourbon snoozes like a champ in his crate at night, ensuring a peaceful slumber for everyone in the household. Plus, he's a pro on the leash and is quickly learning basic commands, showing off his eagerness to please. He responds extremely well to positive reinforcement and is very motivated by food. However, like any pup, Bourbon has his quirks. He's not a fan of being left alone and may express his displeasure with some initial barking. When left solo, he's been known to test his Houdini skills on his crate, so a sturdy and secure crate or designated safe area is a must. Bourbon finds solace in the company of another dog, so having another pup could greatly alleviate his anxiety when left home alone. Bourbon is still refining some of his manners, particularly when it comes to containing his excitement and keeping all 4 paws on the ground. His enthusiasm may lead to accidentally knocking over young children, which is why a household with older children or adults might be a better fit. Structured exercise, like daily walks, helps Bourbon channel his energy in a positive direction and keeps his exuberance in check. If you're searching for a loyal companion who's equal parts cuddle buddy and adventure enthusiast, look no further than Bourbon. With a heart as big as his personality, he's ready to fill your home with love, laughter, and plenty of tail wags.
