Hi I'm Peggy!  I'm a gorgeous lady on the lookout for the perfect family.  I'm a loving girl with my family and I'm always ready for belly rubs, booty scratches and hugs and kisses.  I love to go on walks, but if I smell something interesting I've been known to pull so I can go investigate.  Sorry not sorry haha!  In my foster home I enjoy curling up in front of the fire on my blankie and chewing on bones.  Bones are the best!  I also enjoy car rides.  My foster mama lets me tag along with her and I quietly chew on bones while she runs into the store for a minute.  I'm potty and kennel trained.  I like kids, but sometimes I get a little too excited and might knock down little ones.  I'm not very good with dogs so I'd prefer to be the only princess in my new home.  This applies to kitties and those squirrels outside too.  It's my yard and they need to know they aren't allowed!  When I came into rescue I had a belly full of babies.  I raised them and then it was my turn to go to the vet to make sure I was forever done being a mama.  I had a couple lumps that were removed at the time and they were found to be cancerous.  The doctor says they got good margins and I can now find my happily ever after and hope that I don’t develop anymore pesky lumps.   Please  note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders.  Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Welcome Tucker to CCPAL Rescue Foster Program. Tucker is a 1-year-old Pitbull dog. He was found as a stray on the construction site and a wonderful good Samaritan found him and is fostering him until he finds his forever home. His hair is super soft and his is gushy sweet. He warms up slow to new people and is very bonded and loyal to his human. He has an adorable underbite. He would be willing to wear outfits and hats if it is what his human wanted. He is great on leash and doesn’t pull and he is good in a car. He doesn’t shed and is a very very clean boy. He likes to keep his feet clean and really manages to stay out of any messes other dogs would normally get into. He is good in his crate and he is potty trained. He currently lives with other dogs but he is jealous of attention. His best home would really be where he can be the only dog and get all the snuggles from his family. I think a quieter home over the family that has a loud bustling group of people in it. He would be perfect for the single woman or man who would like a companion animal to walk, jog hike or cuddle with. He doesn’t need lots of exercise for happiness. He is an inside dog and loves to be in the house next to his person. He can stay in his crate while you work. He can also be trusted outside his crate. He is healthy, vaccinated, neutered and ready for his forever home. He is currently in Texas and can be adopted locally. Welcome Ebony Ann to CCPAL Rescue. She is a 10-year-old Pit Bull mixed dog. Ebony Ann spent 6 years at Lytle Animal Care and Control. The Animal Control Officers loved her and hid her from euthanasia every time they were over crowded due to her very sweet personality. This time she was at the end of her very long rope. She called Lytle home and they were pleading for a rescue to take her to give her a chance at her forever home. CCPAL answered that call. She is good with male dogs, great on a leash, potty trained and loves car rides. 10 year old beauty. Good with all people, kennel trained, leash trained, affectionate and friendly with male dogs. She would be perfect for an older couple looking for a walking companion and one that would allow her to go in the car places. She would be great for a truck driver as a companion dog. She has a little growth on her bum but we would use her adoption fee to remove it. The vet has looked at it and says it is only a cosmetic procedure and does not cause pain and is not an issue for this dog. She is currently in Texas and can be adopted locally. Not only am I a stunning, confident young adult female Pit Bull but foster mom says that I’m the sweetest wild child ever! It’s true too…I may be deaf but I’m a funny, rambunctious girl who loves to have fun and shower my people with endless love!! At home, my favorite activities include wrestling & romping with my fur sibs, gazing out the window watching (and saying hello to) the passersby, jumping from one piece of furniture to another (hee, hee), and taking short naps in my favorite chair. What about Kongs you ask?? Well, I’m a Kong fanatic of course, and I will spend lots of time making sure it’s completely clean before moving on to my next adventure. Oh yeah, and if you really want to make me smile just bring out the toys…I’m not picky! Hee, hee!! I’m cautious in new environments but I warm up quickly and when I’m away from home, I’m quite the showstopper if I do say so myself! I love greeting new people and they love greeting me just as much! Sure, I’m still working on my ‘adulting’ in this area, but with patience and more training I will be a great 'bring anywhere' companion. Hint, hint!! I am good with kids, but I have a high prey drive so cats are not a good fit for me. Additionally, although I’m good with other dogs, I have a LOT of energy and can play a bit rough so smaller dogs may also not be a good fit. Potty training on a schedule is going nicely; I do fine on the leash; and I’m crate trained. I do, however, get a bit anxious in the crate if my people need to leave so foster mom makes sure I have a Kong then she covers the kennel before she leaves. I’m a smart lady who knows commands like “sit”, “come”, and “kennel/crate” but since I’m unable to hear anything, I need my people to use special training techniques to help me learn. Please don't let my inability to hear scare you…deaf dogs are just like any other dog when it comes to learning new tricks & routines. In fact, I am currently learning hand signals for basic commands and not only am I slowly but surely catching on, but foster mom gives me LOTS of ‘thumbs-ups’ to let me know that I am the best girl EVER! Anyway, I am a brave, curious, absolute sweetheart who is simply looking for YOU…a very patient, unconditionally loving fur-ever family that will NEVER give up on me. As much as I enjoy playing, I love taking my much-needed naps afterward so get ready for your weighted-blanket-snore-machine because this gal’s got it going on and I will love you bigger than life! Life's just one big adventure for me, and I'm always ready to dive right in. I'm a friendly and playful puppy with an endless supply of puppy energy, and I'm not afraid to show it! I'm a big fan of playtime, especially when it involves chew toys and romping around with my foster sister. I’m a teething puppy, so my people have a mountain of toys available for me to chew on. A BIG toybox is required in my forever home – hee hee! I've also been working hard on my manners. I may still have a few accidents here and there, but I'm getting the hang of this whole potty training thing. And when it's time to settle down, I'm happy to curl up in my crate for some well-deserved rest. Now, I'm not picky when it comes to company. Whether you're a kid or an adult, I'm cool with everyone. But I do have to admit, sometimes my puppy energy can be a bit much for older dogs. I'm just so excited to play that I forget to take it easy! But don't worry, I'm learning fast. Have you ever met a person who just exudes joy at all times? Well FREYA is the dog version of that human. She is happiness personified. Being with her, you can’t help but feel her bliss and smile. She herself always has a smile on her face and loves to soak up attention from everyone she meets. Whether she’s outside playing or inside lounging on the couch, she loves to be where the people are. She’s doing wonderful in her current foster home with her two doggy foster brothers, a 95 lb cane corso mix and a 75 lb lab. She loves to cuddle with them as well as play with them in the backyard. She also has a cat foster brother who she gets along great with and even hangs out with him on the bed when he’s in the mood for cuddles. FREYA also loves to go on car rides and just take everything in. She would love to be your sidekick for every adventure that comes your way. She likes to talk to you and let you know what she’s thinking! Her little “ooowoo’s” are absolutely precious! She tends to talk to strangers as well , but it’s just her saying “Hello!”. She is crate trained and is used to being in her crate while her foster parent is gone. She is truly a one of a kind with a heart of gold. A little about me: My sister and I were abandoned by my first family next to a busy highway surviving the best we could. Sister Asta (also adoptable) was terribly traumatized so I cared and protected her the best I could. We are incredibly close and stick together. I love adventures and occasional scavenger hunts. So I'm hoping to find an active family to feed my athletic and energetic nature. My favorite thing is to hang out with my foster dad doing projects in the backyard. Meet Rio 'Member that scene from Lady and the Tramp where the dogs are sharing a single spaghetti? It's fake. I know this because no dog in their right tooting mind is going to share a pawsta string when there's an entire heckin meatball on the plate. Next thing you know we will find out that wasn't even pawsta, it was squash impersonating a pawsta :0 Either way, I'd have to have a stunt double for that scene because I do not enjoy sharing my food or treats. Foster Mom is practicing better table manners with me. Sharing is caring. She says. Which is ironical because she's never once so much as offered me even a nibble of her oreo cookies. I litterally look like an Oreo cookie which happens to be my Foster Moms favorite treat. Hint hint, send her a pallet for all the schooling she is doing for me. I LOVE TO TRAIN and Foster Mom says I'm a super fast learner. Indeed, I will do whatever a human wants for a food. Note to self, find out what obnoxiousness, tolerate and inappropriate means, because honestly all I heard was chili dog and got hungry while visions of weenies danced in my head. :) Foster Mom did say, I would do best with a sturdy dog, my size or larger. I guess you need to know my size. I'm 30-35 pounds and growing. I'm a ruff and tumble and mouthy player so your dog would have to be more of a rugby than hockey player. I have lots of fans on the internet and they also told me to be sure to mention my floppy ears, my freckled snooter and the fact that my feet most likely smell like frito pie which I'm fairly sure is a compliment. So if it helps to butter you up with compliments, I bet you smell like cheese because I think you're grate! Like most spunky young pups, I get the zoomies when excited. I love to play fetch and tug. I'm working on sharing my toys. I do need lots of approved chew toys such as pig ears. That reminds me, I am not good with cats. Cats are not approved toys. Cats are NOT approved toys. Worth repeating. I am crate trained, pretty much standard pawcedure. I did also try my heck hardest to get Foster Mom to give me driving lessons, so I could add that to my skill list, but she said "No Rio, dogs can't drive. I guess she's never seen a Subaru commercial. I like car rides but I don't enjoy being restrained so we are working on that too. I am loveable and active. Bath time and nail clip time are not a problem. Occasionally I impersonate a potato on the couch, but fun is more my taste. Foster Mom says if you are the type who enjoys entertaining antics and doesn't mind providing extra guidance, you'd be happy as my family. I would be good as an only son, but if you have current dogs that don't mind EXTRA level whippersnappers, that might work too. Foster Mom is a professional trainer and is willing to give you tips on how to make sure I stay on the path to good boy town. I’m a quiet young adult female Bulldog who is not only stunning to look at but I’m hilarious & fun-loving too! Hee, hee!! I’m a stubborn gal who likes to have things my way and I enjoy eating things I shouldn’t like soft toys, blankets, & clothes. The truth is, I love everything…foster mom says, “sometimes too much” for example I cannot have a bed in my kennel, and I probably shouldn’t have soft toys at all especially if unsupervised because I may devour them LOL!! I have not met any cats and I have been working hard with foster mom on understanding I don't need to resource guard things. Since getting spayed, I have made great improvements in this area, but upon first intros in a new home, my forever home should just remember I am still learning!  I love my kennel and toys and all you people so much!  With other pups, some could say I'm more of the alpha lady in the group. I just let everyone know that and the dogs get that out of the way and then we are besties!  If you have no other dogs in the home and can give me all the attention, well, that would be FABULOUS!  I tend to be better friends with the boy dogs that I meet because they tell me I'm pretty ;) That said, I am also working diligently at potty training and although I do my business outside, I still have some accidents in the house which foster mom thinks could be a ploy for attention…all I know is that I’m trying hard to not have them! I AM, however, leash & kennel/crate trained; I know commands like “sit”, “down”, “come”, “kennel/crate”, “leave it”, “outside”, & “go potty”; I’m a good listener; and I do well in an environment tailored to my needs…sneaky girls after all, need no temptations am I right!?!  I am good with kids, but because of my love for eating things I should not, I would not do well in a home with kids who have little socks, stuffed animals, and other intriguing things around. They tell me it will get stuck in my stomach, but I'm not sure what that means really.... Being a bulldog, I do need my tail pocket cleaned pretty regularly. When I came to Underdog, I had a pretty nasty tail infection and we treated that. I was evaluated to have my tail removed, but my tail is so short that it was not an option as it would be very complicated. I just need a forever home who will help me keep that clean! Anyway, I am a wonderfully adorable albeit complicated lady who simply wants ALL the love I can get! You’ll find me to be super playful and incredibly sweet.  I enjoy cuddling with both people and dogs.  I’ve not quite gotten brave enough to check out the cat that is here.  So far the closest I’ve gotten is a sniff in the air. I’m potty trained (unless you rely on using a leash, where I’ll hold it until I’m back inside, which is why I’m asking for a fenced yard). Perhaps we can work on using a leash together as I have a tendency to pull.  But I do know some commands, such as “sit, kennel and outside.”  Speaking of which, I know how to use a kennel but I’m not a fan of one.  I also have been known to bark at strangers out the windows and when you come back home.  I don’t count the times I bark when other dogs start it.  I’m just playing along.  Here is a summary of what foster-mom says: “She's absolutely perfect. Still young and playful but loves to be a couch potato and cuddle. She loves to get super close and tuck her head into your neck. She loves other dogs but needs to take it slow with dogs who are over friendly and get in her face. She does warm up eventually though.
