Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.     Hi, I’m Maverick! True to my name, I’m a Top Gun kind of guy. My smile is contagious, and I know just how to light up a room with all the love I have to share! I can’t help but want to make my humans happy, whether it be quickly catching on to new tricks and behaviors or snuggling up all day to keep you warm. I’m still learning some manners, but I’m quickly mastering the basics (sit, down, come, and wait). I can’t wait for someone to become my best adventure buddy and sidekick! I have lots of energy for our adventures, and I’ll put my whole body into everything! For this reason I may not be best with small children – I’m still learning how to communicate my love for you without using my entire body. I would be so sad if I accidently knocked kids over, but I just want to show how much I love you! My foster family says I’m a goofball; I’m playful and affectionate with humans and dogs alike. I like to keep busy with toys and bones, and am happy to keep my focus on those rather than household items. My people are working hard to make sure I don’t chew things I’m not supposed to, so I am really hoping my forever home has lots of toys for me – hey maybe you have puzzle toys and kongs for me? I would love a good challenge! I’m still working on my patience while on leashes and in cars, but with time I’ll be sure to master these adventures as well! I do get excited in the car and am a little reactive - we will need to work on some training so I know it is ok.  I’m potty trained and crate trained, and only bark during noisy situations (but I’m learning that vacuums and hair dryers are my friend). Are you ready for your own little Tom-Cruise-Maverick, keeping you laughing and smiling for days to come? I’m your guy! Get ready for an adventure! Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders.  Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Some of the animals come from situations where they are lacking experience in a home and confidence in humans. In turn, they require another companion dog and/or a fenced in yard in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a  particular dog whose bio states those needs and do not currently have them, please understand that your home might not be the right fit.  Please use the filter on our Adoptable Dogs page to find the perfect match for your home.   ***Be sure to check your spam/junk folder as sometimes our emails end up there*** Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.If you have other questions about me you can email Underdog Rescue at <inquiries@underdogrescuemn.com> ADOPTION EVENTS:      Adoption events are updated at the top of each dogs animals' as their foster home signs up. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.  DOB:  06/01/2018 Requires another dog in home: No- best as an only dog   Okay with dogs of all sizes: No Okay with cats: No Okay with children under 12 years old: Yes Weight: 65 pounds Requires a fenced yard:     No Note: dogs must always be leashed whenever outside of a contained area. Invisible/ underground fencing is not recommended for most rescue dogs. Hi I'm Peggy!  I'm a gorgeous lady on the lookout for the perfect family.  I'm a loving girl with my family and I'm always ready for belly rubs, booty scratches and hugs and kisses.  I love to go on walks, but if I smell something interesting I've been known to pull so I can go investigate.  Sorry not sorry haha!  In my foster home I enjoy curling up in front of the fire on my blankie and chewing on bones.  Bones are the best!  I also enjoy car rides.  My foster mama lets me tag along with her and I quietly chew on bones while she runs into the store for a minute.  I'm potty and kennel trained.  I like kids, but sometimes I get a little too excited and might knock down little ones.  I'm not very good with dogs so I'd prefer to be the only princess in my new home.  This applies to kitties and those squirrels outside too.  It's my yard and they need to know they aren't allowed!  When I came into rescue I had a belly full of babies.  I raised them and then it was my turn to go to the vet to make sure I was forever done being a mama.  I had a couple lumps that were removed at the time and they were found to be cancerous.  The doctor says they got good margins and I can now find my happily ever after and hope that I don’t develop anymore pesky lumps.   Please  note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders.  Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Story
Welcome Ebony Ann to CCPAL Rescue. She is a 10-year-old Pit Bull mixed dog. Ebony Ann spent 6 years at Lytle Animal Care and Control. The Animal Control Officers loved her and hid her from euthanasia every time they were over crowded due to her very sweet personality. This time she was at the end of her very long rope. She called Lytle home and they were pleading for a rescue to take her to give her a chance at her forever home. CCPAL answered that call. Ebony Ann loves car rides, is potty trained, good on a leash and loves all humans. She is ok with non-dominant male dogs but she would love to be an only dog. She would be perfect for an older couple looking for a walking companion and one that would allow her to go in the car places. She would be great for a truck driver as a companion dog. She has a little growth on her bum but we would use her adoption fee to remove it. The vet has looked at it and says it is only a cosmetic procedure and does not cause pain and is not an issue for this dog. She is currently in Texas and can be adopted locally. We can also work with one of the wonderful transporters to get her to Washington, Portland, Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. Her adoption fee is 300 and transport is 200. This girl has lots of love, walks and good times to give her new family. Rhode Island and Massachusetts are not states we adopt to because of the regulations imposed by these states. Contact Marlene at 210-867-1769 or email ccpalinquiries@gmail.com if you have questions. Online applications at www.ccpal.info/ See her cute video!! https://youtu.be/T0Z4q0j1fVc?si=aN0A4Snsq6FfFsbs

Story
Welcome Tucker to CCPAL Rescue Foster Program. Tucker is a 1-year-old Pitbull dog. He was found as a stray on the construction site and a wonderful good Samaritan found him and is fostering him until he finds his forever home. His hair is super soft and his is gushy sweet. He warms up slow to new people and is very bonded and loyal to his human. He has an adorable underbite. He would be willing to wear outfits and hats if it is what his human wanted. He is great on leash and doesn’t pull and he is good in a car. He doesn’t shed and is a very very clean boy. He likes to keep his feet clean and really manages to stay out of any messes other dogs would normally get into. He is good in his crate and he is potty trained. He currently lives with other dogs but he is jealous of attention. His best home would really be where he can be the only dog and get all the snuggles from his family. I think a quieter home over the family that has a loud bustling group of people in it. He would be perfect for the single woman or man who would like a companion animal to walk, jog hike or cuddle with. He doesn’t need lots of exercise for happiness. He is an inside dog and loves to be in the house next to his person. He can stay in his crate while you work. He can also be trusted outside his crate. He is healthy, vaccinated, neutered and ready for his forever home. He is currently in Texas and can be adopted locally. We can work with one of the wonderful transporters to get him to Washington, Portland, Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. His adoption fee is 300 and transport is 200. Story
Welcome Chata to CCPAL Rescue foster program. She is a 2-year-old Pocket Pitbull mix. She weighs about 45 pounds. She is stocky and muscular with a gorgeous and shiny coat. She is potty trained, knows sit, good on a leash, good in a car and good with other dogs big and small. She has nice clean teeth and will not need a dental any time soon. She is lower shedding and very adoptable. People that love this breed will love the looks of Chata. Chata was found as a stray by a landscaping company. This good Samaritan has taken her in and is doing a great job working with Chata to give her important skills to make it easy for her adopter. She is now in boarding waiting for her forever home. She is not too vocal and will be an easier dog to bring in because she already has some skills. She is in a foster home that owns a boarding facility so she gets a good amount of attention and one on one care. She is an ideal weight, healthy, vaccinated, spayed and heartworm negative. She would be fine with children. We like them to be 8 or older. She is currently in Texas and can be adopted locally or we can work with one of the wonderful transporters to get Chata to Washington, Portland (Oregon), Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. Her adoption fee is 300 and transport is 200. Contact Marlene at 210-867-1769 or email ccpalinquiries@gmail.com if you have questions. Online applications at www.ccpal.info/ See her cute video!!

Duncan is a sweet, medium-energy, affectionate boy who will be 2 years old on 12/24/23. He has lived his entire life with two small children and does great with them! He is crate-trained while his humans are at work, house-trained, and knows basic commands. His preference is to share a bed with his people, but he likes his dog bed as well. He loves to snuggle and rest his head on a shoulder for a hug! Duncan has lived in the same home with his mom since birth, and could use some help building his confidence. He would be great as an only dog or in a home with another dog who is a strong leader. He currently exercises in a fenced in yard and needs more practice walking on a leash. He will likely take some time to come out of his shell, so a patient owner is a must! Once he settles in he'll be a sweet pal for life!

Gary is 2 years old and is one of the best dogs! He is sweet, goofy, and loves to cuddle and be around people! He is completely house trained, good with other dogs, doesn’t have any food aggression or behavioral problems. I am looking to rehouse him as I live alone and work a very busy schedule. Gary loves to be around people and be outside and I feel as though I am not able to provide him that. I live in a small 1 bedroom apartment and am gone from 730am to 6pm every day. He deserves more room to run and someone who is home more often. He is completely house trained and listens to commands. I am hoping that someone can give him a loving home.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.  Hello, my name is Flounder and I’m an incredibly handsome, quiet, & happy-go-lucky young adult English Bulldog who loves attention from anyone willing to give it to me! Hee, hee!! I admit that I can be a bit clingy and will jump up on mom’s legs or lap for attention and according to her, jumping on people is bad etiquette… so although I don’t understand why it’s frowned upon, I am working on staying down. Oh yeah, I almost forgot to mention that I’m one of those ‘foodie’ types too. Not only do I enjoy chewing on Benebones, but I love all treats too! Hint, hint! I’m good with kids, cats, & other dogs and I like to follow my resident doggie pal around so much that I would love to have a companion at my new home but it’s not a requirement. I do fine with baths & will even tolerate foster mom cleaning my ears & the skin folds on my face; I am very good about going poo outside but not so much for potty, so I wear a belly band/diaper inside to avoid any embarrassing accidents. I am also leash & crate trained but I admit that I may grunt a bit when first in the kennel/crate. I can use stairs, but I prefers not to and will usually just stand at the top of them and wait for foster mom to carry me down so hopefully my new home won’t have any stairs! Anyway, I am a wonderfully sweet guy who is simply looking for the fur-ever home I so richly deserve with YOU…a patient, unconditionally loving fur-ever family that will NEVER give up on me. I promise I’m worth it, I will love you bigger than the universe, and I will make your world a MUCH happier place! Love, Flounder *Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders.  Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared.  Each dog receives basic grooming when coming into rescue, but for some dogs they have not received grooming attention until recently and grooming may be required shortly after adoption.  This will be at the adopters expense, so we encourage you to research the breed and be prepared for grooming expenses.   Underdog cannot guarantee hypoallergenic or non shedding qualities of any dogs in our rescue. Bulldogs are a member of the Brachycephalic breed and therefore have a host of health issues that may arise.  Because these dogs are new into our rescue, health issues in the future may arise that we are not aware of.  Some of these issues are allergies, eye issues, yeast infections, interdigital cysts, slipped disks in their back, breathing problems, among a host of others that can occur at any time or when seasons change. While breed experience is not required, we encourage you to thoroughly research the breed and its financial, medical, and environmental needs to be sure the breed is a good fit for you and your family.  It is estimated that the average bulldog owner spends $2,000 per year on medical needs.  Bulldogs are one of the most expensive dogs to own, maintain, and rescue and our adoption fees reflect such expenses.  The application process for bulldogs usually moves quite quickly as they are a popular breed, so we ask that adopters do research and be prepared for adoption at the time you submit your application.  They are happy, goofy, playful characters and we are excited you are taking the first steps into rescuing one!   This dog requires an application fee.  This fee must be paid within 24 hours or your application will be considered void.    We will not review or contact applicants that have not completed the payment portion. Bulldog Applications will be responded to within 5 business days, after receipt of the application fee.  Please understand that paying the fee does not guarantee you will be approved to adopt the bulldog. Our goal is place bulldogs in homes that are suited for their individual needs. You may be willing and able to provide a great home, but if it doesn’t meet the specific needs of the bulldog, we will not approve your application. To meet Alesandra, please fill out a bulldog app here https://underdogrescuemn.com/adoptionprocess/bulldogs/ ***Be sure to check your spam/junk folder as sometimes our emails end up there***  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.If you have other questions about me you can email Underdog Rescue at <inquiries@underdogrescuemn.com> ADOPTION EVENTS:      Adoption events are updated at the top of each dogs animals' as their foster home signs up. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.  Hi, I'm Thalia!  I am great with dogs of all sizes and love to learn all about this new life. I have a huge bulldog smile and love showing it off!  I walk well on leash outside and love to check out this new world.  I am kennel trained and keep it clean, while being quiet and resting until you come back home!  Potty training is going well, when I am kept on a good consistent schedule.  Right now, I do go potty in a fenced yard, but if you don't have a fence, we'd just have to work on pottying on leash together!  Foster mom says I am not a flight risk because being right near you is my favorite place to be - in fact, sometimes the humans trip over me because I'm right under them!  I'm a quiet girl and have not made a peep since being here, so if you are in an apartment or have shared walls, that would work for me! I'm a happy, fun loving girl who is ready for my family so I can keep learning and exploring! Is that you? Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.    Hi!  I’m Daffodil and although you might think that’s a funny name, you just watch me bloom!  It’s been a slow adjustment to being in a home but I’m blossoming more and more every day. My people are so proud of me!  I’m still a little shy but have finally felt comfortable enough to come out of the crate and explore for a little bit. I'm a shy girl so need a little time to acclimate to my new environment. I'm not ready for snuggles yet, but I am working very hard on being brave and will someday! I haven’t a CLUE what toys are but occasionally I’ll entertain you (and myself) by chasing my tail. I almost got it!  I’m not really food motivated, but I do like yummy treats more than toys right now. I have other big dogs in my foster home that have shown me all kinds of great things about being a dog - they have been helpful in getting on a potty routine. We like to eat our dinner and then go outside right away to do our business. They are also trying to show me which treats are yummy. I ignore the cat in my foster home - not sure what the big deal is so likely I would be fine with small dog. Not sure what I think of kids since I'm not used to a lot of commotion, but older kids are likely fine.  My people said I am a quiet girl – you won’t hear me bark much, not even in my kennel. I am a good girl in my kennel and prefer to be in there even when my foster is home.  My crate is always open so I can go in there and feel safe. I have gone a few places with my foster family - while I wasn't super worried in the car, they said I wasn't totally relaxed enough to enjoy it. Like everything else, the  more exposure, I’ll likely come to like it. I’m potty trained and crate trained, I do great on a routine. My people walk my around the yard on a leash and I do my business. I don't need a fenced yard as long as you are committed to continue leash training with me.  I don’t seek out being petted but I sure enjoy it when you come to me to do it.  Please be patient with me and I promise to be patient with you!  All I need now is a forever family with patience, unconditional love and a daffodil size spot in your heart for me to grow!
