His siblings were all adopted once they were old enough, leaving Maverick. The only thing different about Maverick is he is a snuggler and loves to be with his people. He doesn't show 'working' dog characteristics. He likes to play, but also wants some good ol lovin! Maverick loves all dogs and everyone, however cats are unknown. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.McCartney and his siblings found themselves stuck in a high kill shelter in West Texas as very young puppies. They are great pups and are good with other dogs, cats and people. All dogs and puppies require supervision and training to be successful. McCartney has been coming out of his shell. He is timid with new people but opening up more each week at events to strangers and at home each day. He likes chin and booty scratches. He will snuggle with you in time and gives the gentlest tiniest kisses. He loves other dogs and would do well a home with another dog to show him the ropes, but it is not a requirement; added patience will be needed if he's an only pup. He plays perfectly with dogs as well as independently, often found throwing the toys in the air to entertain himself. He is the ultimate stuffy killer but it's oh so fun to watch him enjoy the moment. He walks beautifully on leash, knows sit, has a good recall, is gentle when taking treats and trys hard to figure out what you are asking of him with a treat in hand. He is good in his kennel while the foster is at work, he will also go chill in there as well when he needs a break all on his own. He's doing great on potty training with only a few accidents here and there. He pays no attention to the cats in the home. Brooks is doing great in his foster home and showing what a loving, affectionate boy he is. He loves to cuddle and wants to be close to his people whenever possible. House training is coming along with just a few accidents, and he’s learning quickly—especially by watching his foster dog siblings. He prefers having someone in the yard with him and is gaining confidence each day. Brooks does very well in his kennel at night and settles after a brief whine when left alone. He’s outgrowing his current kennel and will need a larger one as he continues to grow. He’s fantastic with other dogs and loves playing and hanging out with his two young foster sisters. He hasn’t been tested with cats yet. He enjoys squeaky toys, chews, and playful herding games with his dog friends. Brooks is athletic, can jump well, and is still learning not to counter surf. He walks nicely on a leash without pulling and is learning basic manners, including keeping all four paws on the floor. Brooks can be vocal when he wants attention but is otherwise a sweet, playful, and snuggly pup ready for a home to grow with him. Come meet me and my friends at the 2026 Twin Cities Auto Show!
