Story
Meet Mini, a 4-year-old mama dog whose greatest wish is finally having a family of her own. Mini was found behind an abandoned school in Puerto Rico with her puppies, doing everything she could to keep them safe. With little shelter and no one looking out for them, life was incredibly difficult. Despite the odds, Mini never gave up on her babies. Thankfully, rescue stepped in and gave this deserving family a second chance.

Since then, Mini has spent many months in a loving foster home, learning that she no longer has to worry about survival. Her puppies have grown, and now it is finally Mini's turn to be cared for.

She has blossomed into an incredibly sweet, gentle, and affectionate dog who loves being close to her people. After years of putting everyone else first, Mini is discovering how wonderful it feels to receive love in return. She has adapted beautifully to life in a home and is working on being house trained. Mini is happiest when she is curled up nearby, soaking up attention and companionship. Mini has all the qualities that make a wonderful family dog. She is calm, loving, grateful, and eager to be part of a family. She carries herself with a quiet sweetness that makes everyone who meets her fall in love.

She is currently in Puerto Rico but is ready to travel to either a foster home or her forever home in the States, whichever opportunity comes first. Transportation is included in her adoption fee. Mini spent years being a devoted mother and protector. Now she deserves a chance to simply be someone's beloved dog. She has done the hard part. All she needs now is a family willing to give her the happy ending she has waited so patiently for.

Story
Bandit has already overcome more in his short life than most dogs ever should. At just 3 months old and 12 pounds, this sweet boy was abandoned on the side of a road in Puerto Rico alongside his sister, suffering from a severe skin condition that left him uncomfortable, vulnerable, and without anyone to care for him. Thankfully, rescue stepped in before it was too late. Today, Bandit is fully healed and absolutely thriving. Now that he's healthy, his fun-loving personality shines through every day. Bandit is incredibly friendly, playful, and always ready for an adventure. He loves meeting new people, making friends, and turning ordinary moments into playtime. He's the kind of puppy who approaches life with pure joy and enthusiasm. Bandit is wonderful with children and would make an amazing family dog. He loves attention, enjoys being part of the action, and has the perfect mix of playful energy and affectionate sweetness. After a day of fun, he's more than happy to curl up beside his people for cuddles and a well-earned nap. After such a difficult start, Bandit deserves a lifetime of love, safety, and happiness. He has left his painful past behind and is ready to start his next chapter with a family who will cherish him forever. Could Bandit be the missing piece your family has been waiting for?

Story
Our best guess is that Samara is a Beagle and Lab mix — or better yet, a mix between cute and adorable! At around 6 months old and 30 lbs, she has a wonderfully sweet, easy going personality. She does great in the play yard with a group of dogs of all sizes, and enjoys playing with toys, but then happily just plops down to chill. She is very good natured and a total lovebug. She is also wonderful with kids, and has a gentle approach that makes everyone she meets fall in love with her. Samara is ready to find a family to call her own.. Be sure to complete an application on line and come to our Meet & Greet Saturday 11:30-1:30. If you are interested in this dog, please submit an application directly to our website at www.ny-petrescue.org. Only applications submitted directly to Petrescue will be considered.

Story
Victoria is a 3.5-year-old, 26 lb beagle mix with a stunning tricolor coat and beautiful brown eyes. This gentle, sweet-natured girl is looking for her perfect forever home. Calm, loving, and endlessly patient, she's already proven she can handle a lot of life's chaos with quiet grace. She walks nicely on a leash...No pulling, lunging at squirrels, or stopping to investigate every blade of grass. Good behavior is her default mode…and she’s remarkably quiet. Victoria has a wonderful temperament...Zero aggression, not even when a well-meaning 3-year-old treats her like a stuffed animal. Victoria is patient, tolerant, and genuinely good-natured through and through. She loves dogs, cats & people and is friendly with everyone she meets. Victoria absolutely loves other dogs and must be in a home with a canine companion. She’s a lovely, sensitive girl. Victoria settles in easily and snuggles when she's ready. She's respectful of her space, but won’t turn down an invitation to join you in bed. Once she trusts you, she's all in. Because loud noises and traffic can scare her, Victoria will be happiest in a quieter suburban or rural environment rather than a busy city, somewhere she can enjoy walks feeling safe and relaxed. Victoria is a lovely, sensitive girl looking for a calm, loving home. Be sure to complete an application on line and come to our Meet & Greet Saturday 11:30-1:30.
