Check little Sienna out! This little border collie blend was found out in the cold on the streets of Ada, MN. She was held with the Ada Police Department for a weekend, and brought into NWMNAR first thing the following Monday morning at daybreak. Little Sienna stayed on stray hold for a week, has been spayed, brought up to date on vaccinations, microchipped, and now looking for her furever home! This little gal is spirited and definitely holds her own. Her personality is bigger in size than she is with a bit of a dominant personality and is a quick learner. She has been around other dogs while vacationing here at the rescue and is brushing up on her social skills. Sienna was adopted, and yet returned as she wasn't working out with active lifestyle. She would prefer a calm quiet home where she can be loved. Sienna is available for adoption, and is also currently seeking a foster home! Fine Print: All dogs of NWMNAR are screened at the headquarters in Ada, Mn until they are vetted. They are then transferred to foster homes throughout MN and some into ND so they can get used to lifestyles with a family in a home. Adoption fee for an adult dog is $300 + Mn tax. Adoption fee for a dog over 3 years of age is $300 + Mn tax., pup/dog1 year to 3 years is $400 + Mn tax. Under 1 year of age $500 + Mn tax. Because NWMNAR is not a public shelter, meet and greets do not take place until an application has been approved and a home visit has been completed in person or virtually. I'm Lassie, a 10-year-old, 48# Border Collie and Australian Shepherd mix (best guess), and I'm proof that growing older means you appreciate the good things in life. My theme song is "Happy" by Pharrell Williams. Once you meet me, you'll understand why! I love a nice, leisurely walk, followed by a fluffy dog bed where I can stretch out and relax. I'm also an enthusiastic fan of pets, attention, and giving kisses to my favorite people. My foster family says I'm the perfect dog! I read the room like a pro: my fun, puppy-like energy comes out when it's time to play. Laying low while you're busy is no problem at all. I'm easy-peasy. My ideal home is peaceful with a family who enjoys staying close to home and believes in getting out for daily exercise. Short strolls are my favorite - I'm an amazing walking companion. Traffic, strange noises, and other dogs do not bother me. My fosters have taken me on outings to a parade and a brewery, and I got an A+ at both events! I could happily live with another calm dog or be your one-and-only. Best in a home without kitties or small animals I would interact with (chickens, ducks). Gentle, calm children could be part of my family, too. A fenced yard would be wonderful but its not a requirement. I want to be near my people, only outside if they are with me. At just 18 months old and around 40# (plus a whole lot of fluff!), Marco is an adorable Border Collie/Australian Shepherd mix (our best guess). He is a loyal, slightly clumsy and utterly lovable Velcro dog, happiest wherever his people are. With lovely medium energy, Marco is always up for playing and doing things with his family. He is equally happy relaxing in the yard, soaking up the sunshine while watching his favorite show, Bunny TV. Cuddling with his humans is another favorite pastime. Hi, my name is Trinity and I am from Arkansas! From her foster: Trinity is VERY sweet and gentle, shy and loves to stick to one person (but warms up to others with some patience), is good with other dogs (low energy/non intrusive dogs would be best), is making lots of progress getting comfortable in her kennel, sleeps through the night in kennel, low energy right now (heart worm positive). We are working on potty training! She isn’t very sure what to do once she’s outside. I think her accidents inside are because she is a bit too uncomfortable outside to settle into a potty. I am currently being treated for heartworm disease. Heartworm is not contagious so your resident pets are not at risk! The treatment for this is 3-4 months long and requires a minimum of 3 appointments and strict rest/restricted activity. My adoption can take place during treatment, while TBB manages the financial responsibility of my heartworm treatment at The Bond Between Vet Center. Any other medical care needed outside of the specific care covered in the contract disclaimer, would be the responsibility of my new family.
