Story
Roxy is a 3 year old, very playful, energetic, border collie and husky mix. We got her from Sacramento SPCA when she was about 5 months old. Roxy has been spayed and is up to date on her shots.Roxy is very fun to have around. She likes to run, yet she always comes back to you no matter how far she has gone. She is curious about everything and loves to explore the world. You can always expect her to be sniffing at the new thing you are looking at no matter whether it is a robot vacuum or an onion. Roxy is a very smart dog. She learned how to do her business outside two days after coming home. She has learned tricks like Sit, Figure 8, Crawl and more. Roxy is a very playful and loyal dog to have. We have had a lot of adventures together for the last few years. That being said, Roxy is an energetic dog. She has been too much for us since the birth of our first child. We have all the dog stuff and a dog trainer that we have prepaid lessons for life, and would help with the transition.

Story
Cashew is a sweet and loving 12 yo dog. She was my 85 yo moms dog and my mom can no longer take care her. Cashew is an extremely friendly dog and will walk up and ask for pets from anyone. She is not aggressive at all and does well one on one but will still be able to get along with other pets if necessary. Cashew is partially house trained. When my mom had her, she was fully house trained but now that’s she’s living with us, she doesn’t alert us so we make sure we take her out and she goes. She will hold it until we take her outside. Cashew is energetic and very spry. She loves her crate and is fully crate trained. An ideal home for Cashew would be one where she receives a lot of attention and where it's quiet. She's a great companion dog so if she was an only pet, she would thrive.

Story
Rosco is a 2.5-year-old Australian Cattle Dog looking for a home that better fits his breed, energy level, and needs. He is a smart, energetic, goofy boy who loves being involved in whatever his people are doing. Rosco has been very loved, and this decision is not being made lightly. After moving into an apartment, it has become clear that apartment living simply isn’t the right environment for him. He would thrive with someone who has a securely fenced yard, property, or acreage where he has room to run, explore, play, and have a “job.” An active owner with experience with cattle dogs or other working/herding breeds would be an especially great fit. He knows basic commands and is very intelligent. Like many young cattle dogs, he has lots of energy and will do best with someone who understands that he needs exercise, structure, consistency, and mental stimulation. My biggest priority is finding Rosco the RIGHT home, not simply the fastest home.

Story
Art is a bright, spirited girl with a big personality and an even bigger love for playtime! If you’re looking for an active, engaging companion to join you on life’s adventures, Art might be your perfect match! She’s incredibly smart and thrives when she has something to do, whether that’s learning new skills, exploring the world, or enjoying a fun, structured game with her favorite people. Art has a strong enthusiasm for toys and play, which could make her a great candidate for dog sports or other enrichment activities that keep both her mind and body busy. Art can get a little extra excited in the moment and may greet you with an enthusiastic jump now and then, but she’s eager to learn and benefits from clear guidance and consistency. She’ll do best in a home that can continue helping her build polite manners and channel her energy in positive ways. While Art loves her human friends and bonds deeply with her people, she prefers to be the only dog in the home so she can soak up all the attention. We`re requiring that she go to a single-dog home where she can feel like the center of your universe. Because Art prefers not to share her space with other dogs, she would also not be a good fit for dog parks or other off-leash dog social settings. Despite her energy levels, it’s not all go-go-go! Art has a wonderfully soft side, too. She absolutely adores affection and will happily lean in for pets, gazing up at you with her gentle brown eyes. Those quiet, snuggly moments are just as special to her as playtime. Because of her energetic play style, any children in Art`s new home are required to be age 10 or older. We also recommend that her new family has experience with dog ownership so they can better address her training needs. If you’re ready for a loyal, fun-loving, and affectionate companion, come meet Art at the Placer SPCA and see if she’s the missing piece in your life!Adoption Price: $150Monthly Promotion Applies!
