Story
Meet Bruce, a dog with a heart full of love. This friendly fellow has a personality that will brighten your day. He's independent, living life on his own terms, yet always ready for a friendly pat. His goofy antics are sure to bring a smile to your face, while his gentle demeanor makes him a calming presence. Despite his age, Bruce has a zest for life that is infectious. He is not just a pet, but a companion, a friend, and a source of unconditional love. Adopting Bruce means inviting joy, laughter, and a loyal friend into your life. Give Bruce the loving home he deserves. Bruce has a history of separation anxiety and will need some extra special care to feel comfortable in his new home. Because of this, we are recommending that any children in his new home are age 5 or older and are requiring that his new family commit to continuing his behavior medication while he adjusts to his new environment. He also prefers a single animal household so we are requiring that there be no other cats or dogs in his new home. He will also not be allowed to visit dog parks.Adoption Price: $200Monthly Promo Applies

Story
Charlotte is a sweet, gentle lady looking for her new home. She is house trained, enjoys short to medium neighborhood walks, car rides, and cuddling with you. She loves to be nearby her people and will give you gentle kisses when you pet her. She knows sit, down, and wait and has started to learn "shake", too. Charlotte's favorite things are belly rubs, playing ball, going for car rides, and going for walks. Be aware that she loves to deconstruct her stuffed toys, so keep stuffed animals out of her reach unless you want a stuffing surprise! She walks nicely on leash, very little pulling. Charlotte spent a weekend with two of our foster volunteers and they learned that she is a low to medium energy dog with polite indoor manners. They shared, "When you are in the kitchen, she is nearby - but not underfoot. When you are on the sofa, she will be by your side. If you are snacking on the sofa, a gentle "no" will keep her from sneaking a bite off your plate. She is a happy dog who will sleep curled up in bed with you." They created a video so you can learn more about her, so be sure to click on the video link or scan the QR code on her habitat at Placer SPCA. Charlotte can be fearful in new spaces, so we are recommending that any children in her new home are age 10 or older so they can understand her needs. She can be selective with other dogs, so we are requiring that a dog introduction be completed prior to adoption. She may not visit dog parks.***Check out my video by clicking "play" under my photos!***Adoption Price: $200Monthly Promotion Applies.

Story
Pepper Ann spent a long weekend with two of our foster volunteers, and that was all it took to see what a fun, active, sweet, affectionate, and exuberant companion she is. She is house trained, enjoys medium to long neighborhood walks, jogging with one of our staff, car rides, golf cart rides, and cuddling with you. When you are on the sofa, she will be by your side. She is a happy dog who will sleep curled up in bed with you. Once she settles on your bed, she stays still for the night and wakes up when you do. She has medium energy with polite indoor manners. She never tried to sneak a bite of dinner when our volunteers were eating meals on the sofa. She was calm and relaxed during her bath in our volunteer's walk-in shower. She knows basic obedience, including sit, down, shake, and wait. She walks nicely on a leash, no pulling, and ignored the dogs she saw on her neighborhood walk. She previously lived with children and is recommended for kids of any age. She also lived with cats and got along with them. Pepper Ann is playful and loves to fetch and play tug-of-war. Her previous owner says she loves the water and will even play fetch in it. You can watch a video of her long weekend in our foster volunteers' home by clicking the blue "play" button under her three photos. Pepper Ann is selective about the dogs she shares her space with, so we will provide dog introductions to potential adopters who already have a canine companion. Story
No Boo Boos with this Yogi Bear... While he may be almost as large as the average bear, he might fit perfectly into your life. His breed does like to wander, so we recommend a solidly fenced yard and a home with warm-hearted people who will recognize what an extraordinary dog Yogi is, and give him all the love and attention he deserves. While not (yet) a confident vehicle road tripper, he recently joined two Placer SPCA volunteers for very successful outing to their home. They shared, "He was the perfect family guest, gentle, polite and very loving. Given the choice to roam the back yard or stay inside near his people - he chose to stay inside - most often laying down next to, or up against us. Two-paws-on seemed to be his motto... if he could put a paw, or usually two on your arm for comfort, he would. If he was not sharing a couch, he was at your feet, or in some cases laying ON your feet so he could be right there with you. He is a dog that loves to be close, and as soft and fluffy as he is, that should certainly be no sacrifice on your part to let him be." Yogi Bear finds livestock a little too exciting, so he is required not to go to a home where they are present. He can be selective with other dogs, especially male dogs, so a slow introduction with any resident dogs is very important. A dog introduction with any resident dogs will be required prior to adoption. We also don't think he would enjoy dog park. We are also requiring that any children in his new home are age 10 or older. Come meet Yogi Bear today!Adoption Fee: $150Monthly Promotion Applies.

Story
Rock Star is a fun, playful, happy, tail-wagging, ball-chasing boy! He keeps his room clean at the shelter, and loves joining his volunteer friends for his twice-daily neighborhood walks. This sweet dog is always wagging his tail... when he walks, he wags his tail - when you pet him, he wags his tail - when you toss him a ball, he wags his tail - when you look deep into his eyes and tell him how handsome he is, he wags his tail. He is also happy to show you his "sit" and his "down". The volunteers love to toss balls for him to chase, and scratch him behind the ears while he chews on his toys. So grab a tennis ball and come on down to meet Rock Star. He doesn't have the best manners with other dogs, so we are requiring that he goes to a single dog home and he should not go to dog parks. ***Check out my video by clicking "play" under my photos!***Adoption fee: WaivedMonthly Promotion Applies.
