Story
Stanley is a 7 year old puppy dog that loves attention and loves to play. He is a wonderful companion when your upset. We adopted him from the Animal Welfare League of charlotte county at the DeSoto County adoption fair on 8/24/2025. Stanley is reactive to sounds when sleeping. Doors opening/closing are public enemy #1. Also he will tolerate children so long as they arnt running, screaming, playing, laughing or crying. but he has played and loved on both of our children in doses. honestly i woulnt reccommend adopting if you have younger children. Other than that "Stan" loves to play with his toys, usually by him self as long as loved ones are watching. He is a character and we love him very much, he is just a bit too reactive for a home of 5. Stan would be best suited to a single or couple of adults living in a quiet area.

Don't let my name fool you, I'm not just a dog, I'm a masterpiece. I'm brave, always ready to face any obstacle. I'm friendly too, eager to meet new people and experience new adventures.   I would love to have a fenced yard with soft grass.   I am not too sure about other dogs right now but I am working on it.  I'm sweet, with a heart full of love to give. I may be 'specially-abled', but that doesn't slow me down one bit. I live each day with joy, embracing every moment with a wagging tail. I've learned to overcome challenges, proving that love and resilience can conquer all.   Remember, broken crayons still color!   Adopt me, and I promise to color your world with unconditional love and loyalty.     Crayola is “specially-abled” due to a prior spinal injury that has left him with some issues with his back legs.  He looks a little awkward but it doesn’t slow him down at all.  Check out his video! I was hit by a car and my leg was broken beyond repair, requiring amputation.  Despite my leg situation, I'm full of energy and love to play. I'm a bit goofy, always ready to make you laugh with my antics. I'm friendly to everyone I meet and I'm always up for a game of fetch, even if I can only use three legs. Life may have dealt me a tough hand, but I'm not letting it get me down. I'm just as sweet and playful as any other pup. I believe in making the most of every day and bringing joy to those around me. I'd love to bring that joy to your home. NAME:    Pinto BREED:   Wire haired terrier mix SEX:   male COLOR:   white AGE:   born Jan 11, 2025 WEIGHT:   13.5 as of Aug 25, 2025 FOSTERED BY:  LOCATED IN:   NOTES FROM FOSTER FAMILY: Pinto came to us after being found in the middle of a highway in the dark with his dead litter mate.  Both of his back legs were broken in the same spot.  Based on his injuries and where he was found, it appears that he was thrown from a car.  Both legs were splinted and he has healed from his injuries and doing great!   On top of that, this poor little boy tested positive for parvo.  Luckily we caught it right away before he showed any symptoms and gave him a dose of CPMA (monoclonal antibody)  We are happy to report that Pinto made it through this second scare and has completely recovered.   While he was being treated for the other issues we also realized that he is deaf.  He doesn't let this stop him and he is a sweet and loving boy.  He just needs someone that is willing to work with him on hand signals and other methods of communication with him.  Deaf dogs are able to live normal lives and just need a caring family to work with them.   If you are interested in adopting please complete our Adoption Application by copying and pasting the following link into your web browser: http://www.caninecastaways.org/adoption-application For a full list of dogs we currently have for adoption use this link:  https://www.caninecastaways.org/adoptable-dogs MEDICAL INFO: The following has been or will be done for this puppy at the appropriate age... - Basic Exam by Veterinarian - Spayed or Neutered - Placed on heartworm preventive - Basic Bloodwork - Microchipped - Intestinal Parasite Exam and medication - Vaccinations - Placed on flea preventive ADOPTION DONATION: $400 This adoption donation helps to cover the vet expenses for this puppy including heartworm preventive which is dispensed at the initial vet visit and then goes with the dog at adoption. I'm young, full of energy, and ready to fill your life with joy. Though I may be a bit shy at first, give me a moment and you'll see my sweet, playful side. It's the simple things that make me wag my tail the fastest! But after a good play session, there's nothing I love more than a good cuddle. I'll nuzzle into your side and let out the happiest sigh. I love other dogs and cats.  I am new to the leash walking thing but I am willing to learn.   I may not say it in words, but I promise to show you every day how grateful I am to have a forever home. I hope I can be the one to bring a little extra love and laughter into your life. Adopt me and let's make beautiful memories together! NAME:  Radcliffe BREED:  Chihuahua mix SEX:  male COLOR:  brown/white AGE:  5 yrs as of Oct 2024 WEIGHT:  8 lbs FOSTERED BY: LOCATED IN:  Arcadia NOTES FROM FOSTER FAMILY: Radcliffe is a sweet boy looking for his forever person/family.  He is going to be a higher energy dog in general so will need some extra playtime/walks/yard to run in and did fine with our resident dog friendly cat.  He plays nice with some dogs not with others so if you have another dog we would want to make sure they are a good fit.  He would be fine as an only dog as well.   Can be very sweet but does take time to get to know people and can be a bit apprehensive with men. . At this time, we will only be able to process applications that have an excellent current vet history.  If you haven’t had a pet or verifiable vet history we will not be able to process your application.    If you are interested in adopting please complete our Adoption Application by copying and pasting the following link into your web browser: http://www.caninecastaways.org/adoption-application For a full list of dogs we currently have for adoption use this link:  https://www.caninecastaways.org/adoptable-dogs MEDICAL INFO: The following has been or will be done for this dog... - Basic Exam by Veterinarian - Spayed or Neutered - Heartworm Tested - Placed on heartworm preventive - Basic Bloodwork - Urinalysis - Microchipped - Intestinal Parasite Exam and medication - Vaccinations - Placed on Flea preventive ADOPTION DONATION: $300 This adoption donation helps to cover the vet expenses for this dog including heartworm preventive which is dispensed at the initial vet visit and then goes with the dog at adoption.
