Story
You wouldn't think as much personality and joyfulness could fit into a wiggly and happy 32-pound, 9½-month-old good girl, but Juniper is proof that it can! She is so lovable and believes she is a lap dog! Snuggling seems to be a part of her DNA! Juniper would be happiest to be the only furbaby in her new home. She loves attention and is so connected to her people that we want her to be totally content on her own. If kiddos in the home are about 8ish and up, we think she'd love to be their fursister! Going for walks and car rides, cuddling, and running are a few of her favorite activities. Tennis balls and stuffed animals are her choice of toys but blankies are always #1 in Juniper's mind. She loves them! She's such a smart girl! Juniper knows how to sit, lay down, come and stay. She also is a great fetch-player! A home without kitty friends would make her happiest! Juniper is spayed; come adopt her!

Story
Happy-go-lucky" is one of the best ways we can think to describe Passionfruit. She's a pup who is a total blast to play with but then she is content to snug right in next to you once inside. She likes to climb onto soft blanket piles and have her stuffie accompany her. She is just TOO CUTE. Passion Fruit has flourished around handsome boy dogs who are easy-going and happy-go-lucky. The happier, the better! She also is content to be the only pup, too! She asks for a home without kitty friends and we think kiddos should be about 10ish and up. Meeting new people sometimes can make Passionfruit nervous. That being said, at one point, we were all new to her and look how amazing she is with us! Once she knows and trusts someone, she shows off all the love that she has. We love her so much. She is about one year old, is 52-pounds and she is spayed.

Story
If you are looking for a loyal, loving, relational companion, please consider adopting Abby. She is a special girl who has some special needs so we are looking for a special adopter just for her. The first step in adopting Abby will be to email us at pets@michianapets.org to request an application. But one step before that is to read about Abby's perfect adopter...and hopefully it is you. Her ideal home would be with someone who has experience with herding dogs as well as sensitive, fearful dogs. A slow pace when getting to know others is the perfect way to set her up for success. A calm, introverted home environment is just what Abby is looking for. We want to see her feel safe in a home, so a home with lots of visitors is not what she needs. A busy neighborhood with neighbors in close proximity would be something that would stress Abby out. A quiet neighborhood/environment would be best for her! She takes time to learn that someone is her friend, but the more she gets to know you, the more she trusts you and the more over-the-moon for you she is when she sees you. It is amazing to see her go from being scared and untrusting to having entire body wiggles and wanting to be close to you. She is the smartest girl ever. Abby knows sit, come, stay, lay down, speak and shake with her right paw and left paw! If you have time to teach her, we're sure there isn't any behavior she couldn't learn. A few of her favorite things to do are going for walks, going for car rides, snuggling and running. Abby will do best in a home as the only pet. She has not been reactive to dogs on walks and redirects nicely when asked to do so. So, she is okay with dogs at a distance but when she is in close-proximity she is not comfortable and we want her to be totally comfortable in her new home. She asks for anyone in the home to be teenagers and older. We're so excited for Abby to find her family. She is about four years old, is 53 pounds and is spayed. Please be patient while she is getting to know you. She is worth the extra effort...trust us.

Story
Okay, German Shepherd fans...boy, ohhh boy, do we have an awesome GSD for you! Meet Choppo. He is 102 pounds of loyal good boy. To adopt Choppo, please send us an email to pets@michianapets.org to request an application! Now, let's talk about manners because he gets an A+... Choppo knows how to sit, wait, lay down, come and shake paws. He also is intentionally gentle when taking treats. His leash-walking skills are pretty great, too. He is SO smart. We highly doubt there isn't anything this guy couldn't learn. He is tuned-in and ready to go and really is eager to please. The other thing that you need to know about Choppo is that he believes he is a lap dog. If you sit down on the couch, you need to be expecting that this handsome boy is gonna be right there with you. And we wouldn't have it any other way! In his previous home, he lived with another shepherd friend and he enjoyed his company! At the shelter, Choppo has done best with equally neutral dogs like he is. He wasn't too concerned with shelter kitties so he may do well with a proper introduction. Kiddos should be about 13ish and older. The type of home that would make Choppo happiest is one where he has people who are home most of the time. He is such an adorable shadow that he loves to be wherever his people are. So, if you are usually at home, Choppo says that he would love to be your new roomie! We would love for whoever adopts him to have had experience owning shepherds. Choppo is about six years old and is neutered. We adore this big guy. He is such a dreamboat.

I adopted Max when he was a puppy. Great loving dog that just wants to be by your side. I just don't have the time that I used to have to give him the attention that he deserves. He's a beautifully tempered dog that is good with other dogs and cats as well as small children.

Story
Oh, hey! I'm Champ! I am about five years old, am 57 pounds and I'm neutered. I constantly hear the humans here saying that I'm the coolest dude. I would love an adopter who loves the typical "husky dog" traits. For example...energetic, vocal, hilarious and always up for an adventure. You know, all the fun characteristics! In my previous home, I was a very good boy when it came to being house-trained. I also was crate-trained, too! I am a type of dog who really likes to be around his people. When I have the opportunity to snuggle, I am so happy. I also love playing fetch! Tennis balls and tug ropes are great toy options for me. I'm a super treat-motivated boy. Food is so tasty and I am eager to earn it! I know how to sit and am learning how to stay. I have lived with teenagers before and we had a nice time together. I think I'd be comfortable with kiddos about that age. As far as furry friends go, I'm still deciding about dog friends. I ask for no kitties! Being with family is very important to me. I so hope I get to become a part of yours. Love, Champ.
