Story
We would love to introduce you to China! She is almost eleven years young, is spayed, weighs about 25ish pounds and she is available for adoption! Since she is living in a foster home, the first step for you would be to email us at pets@michianapets.org to request an application. Once China feels safe with someone, the bond she has for them is so strong. She would be the absolute best friend to someone who needs a loyal companion. Since China is more introverted, a quiet home would suit her best. Her foster mom is retired and China loves that she gets to spend most of her day with her. She asks that whoever adopts her is patient while she is acclimating in the home and is learning the ropes of being house-trained. Even though China is technically a senior, she is very playful and active! She loves squeaky toys. Her foster mom is teaching her that it is okay to share her toys! She has lived with other dogs throughout her life and currently has several dog foster-siblings around her size, give or take. Kiddos should be around 11ish and older. China is such a happy sweetheart once she is adjusted. She will follow you like a shadow and will take any opportunity to snuggle close. She for sure will make a lucky person or two feel like they are the most important beings in the world.

Story
You wouldn't think as much personality and joyfulness could fit into a wiggly and happy 32-pound, 8-month-old good girl, but Juniper is proof that it can! She is so lovable and believes she is a lap dog! Snuggling seems to be a part of her DNA! Juniper has done quite well with dogs who are playful and neutral! When she's seen dogs who are happy-go-lucky, she mirrors their happy-go-luckiness! We've noticed her preference is handsome male dogs! If kiddos in the home are about 8ish and up, we think she'd love to be their fursister! Going for walks and car rides, cuddling, and running are a few of her favorite activities. Tennis balls and stuffed animals are her choice of toys but blankies are always #1 in Juniper's mind. She loves them! She's such a smart girl! Juniper knows how to sit, lay down, come and stay. She also is a great fetch-player! A home without kitty friends would make her happiest! Juniper is spayed; come adopt her!

Story
We'd love to introduce you to Snowelle. She is about three years old, weighs 54 pounds, is spayed and has the sweetest personality. We're obsessed. She's got one of those wiggles when she is happy that moves her entire body. Snowelle is entirely thrilled when she gets to be around people. She is so social and is so wonderful. We haven't known her that long so we are still getting a solid idea of what she thinks about other furry friends. So far, her body language with dogs has been positive! She may enjoy a friend! We think she'd be such a loving fursister to kiddos who are about 6ish and older. Please check back regarding kitties! Snowelle will do anything for yummy treats. She sits like a lovely lady. She wants all of your love, affection and attention. We hope you come by to meet our snowy princess.

Story
"Ahh, Miss Nancy. She tries so hard to be such a good girl, and has learned so much in the few short weeks she’s been with us. Nancy joined the Michiana crew as a stray and has been working to gain some much-needed weight. She has been getting medicated baths to treat a few skin issues (which have greatly improved!). Her fur is SO shiny now! Nancy is the biggest couch potato, and with the colder days, she is happiest snuggled into a pile of blankets. She is silly, sweet, and so willing to learn. Nancy has worked very hard to understand how to be gentle when taking treats and toys to play. She can get a bit over-zealous, but with a quick reminder to “wait” and “be easy”, you can see the light bulb turn on. She will sit for hours playing with chew toys, like Kongs, and seems to be on a mission to rid the world of the squeakers in stuffed toys, lol. Nancy loves to be the center of your attention and wants to be wherever you are. She soaks up every ounce of affection and belly rubs she can get. Nancy is quite the hugger! She likes to hop up politely, wrap her paws around you, and gives the tiniest kisses. She has the funniest creeping sit/stay when treats are in sight! She will sit with a snap, and then scoots her lil' tush closer with each backward step you take. When treats are absent, Nancy will sit and stay like a champ. Nancy will prefer to be the only pet in the home and has mixed reviews regarding other furry friends. Nancy is usually vocal as people enter the house, but as soon as she sees who it is, she comes to say hi as the welcoming committee and gets all the pets. Nancy is continuing to learn about boundaries and good manners and will need patience as she builds her confidence and tries to understand what you want from her. She is so willing to learn and craves that “good girl” approval and reassurance." -Nancy's foster mom. To adopt Nancy, please email us pets@michianapets.org. She is about two years old and is spayed. She weighed 45 pounds when she first arrived and now weighs a healthy 57 pounds! She's just the best good girl. Please adopt Nancy.

Story
If Jersey sees you, Jersey considers you a friend. She will greet you with the happiest face and the fastest wagging tail. Tiny, gentle kisses on your hand and numerous attempts to snuggle will also be a part of your introduction to Jersey. She's a petite gal and is only about 47 pounds! Jersey is just around one year old so she is at an awesome age! She's so fun and energetic but also is snuggly and loves to work for treats. Time with Jersey always leaves us feeling happy and content. As far as other pets go, her body language around shelter dogs has been quite positive. We also think she could do well meeting friendly kitty friends in her new home with a slow introduction. Kiddos about 5ish and older would be so lucky to have her as their fursister! We could see Jersey being so excited for daily walkies with you and then being even more excited for snuggles during nap-time. Her kind, sweet personality is one of the best. Adopt Jersey!

Story
Happy-go-lucky" is one of the best ways we can think to describe Passionfruit. She's a pup who is a total blast to play with but then she is content to snug right in next to you once inside. She likes to climb onto soft blanket piles and have her stuffie accompany her. She is just TOO CUTE. Passion Fruit has flourished around handsome boy dogs who are easy-going and happy-go-lucky. The happier, the better! She also is content to be the only pup, too! She asks for a home without kitty friends and we think kiddos should be about 10ish and up. Meeting new people sometimes can make Passionfruit nervous. That being said, at one point, we were all new to her and look how amazing she is with us! Once she knows and trusts someone, she shows off all the love that she has. We love her so much. She is about one year old, is 52-pounds and she is spayed.
