Story
Penguin is a 60 lb 3 year old Australian shepherd/blue heeler mix (with a bit of border collie and collie). He was born 12/2/22 and rescued in Tennessee. I’m looking for a home with more space and stability for him. Hes been taking Prozac for 2 years to try to help with his anxiety/reactivity. He is a working breed and needs a lot of mental stimulation. He was raised around 5 other dogs and I would consider placing him in a home with another large dog if the dog is confident and not prone to tussling. I would prefer a home with experience with fear reactive/anxious dogs. No cats and no children please. He does have a prey drive and has gotten squirrels, birds, rabbits. He would come with all of his things and I am setting up an app w/Synergy for a behavioral assessment. Disclaimer: I am looking to rehome him because he attacked my senior small dog after living with her for 3 years. I have two other middle aged small dogs in my home that I had before him and cannot risk their safety.

Story
Bought from a reputable pet store in 2020 during Covid for my then 8‑year‑old son. He is a very loving dog and warms up to new people almost immediately. Our lives have become much busier, and we no longer have the time to give him the care and attention he deserves. I am looking for someone who has the time to truly care for him, love him, and happily receive his affection. There is no rush—I will keep him with us until the right **forever** home is found.

Story
Teddy is our little handsome boy, young, super playful and energetic. He is the youngest member of our family. We have loved Teddy as our own little baby and pampered him with whatever best we could. But honestly due to our super busy schedules which includes official travels at times, it’s becoming hard to give the best care we were providing him so far. At times we are having to crate him beyond 5-6 hours at a stretch which is not healthy for his physical needs. That’s the reason we are thinking of finding a best possible home for him so he can get the best that he deserves. He is on Gastrointestinal vetted diet and up to date with all vaccinations and is neutered as well. We can provide everything that he is enjoying now to go with him to his new home. All he needs is your time and good care. Hope he finds his forever home soon.

Story
Meet Pooh — a 6&#226&#128&#145month&#226&#128&#145old, 12 lb Bluetick Beagle pup with a heart full of sweetness and a nose that’s always ready for adventure.   Quick Facts: Name: Pooh Breed: Bluetick Beagle Mix Age: 6 months old Weight: 12 lbs. House-Trained: Working on it! Crate-Trained: Yes Good with Dogs: Yes (would love a playful sibling!) Good with Cats: Yes Good with Kids: Yes, best with kids who can handle puppy energy Energy Level: Medium (playful) Fence Required: No, but preferred due to her explorative nature   About Pooh’s Breed: Our best guess is that Pooh is a Bluetick Beagle mixed breed. Bluetick Beagles are known for their keen noses, curious minds, and cheerful, affectionate personalities. They’re classic little hounds—playful, expressive, and always ready to follow an interesting scent. Their striking bluetick coat pattern gives them a unique look, and their friendly nature makes them wonderful companions for families and other pets.   An ideal home for a Bluetick Beagle is one that offers plenty of exercise, mental stimulation, and safe opportunities to explore. Because their noses lead the way, they thrive with a fenced yard or regular leashed adventures. They do best with families who appreciate their energetic, inquisitive spirit and can provide consistent training, companionship, and lots of love.   What to Love about Pooh: Pooh is playful, loving, and full of that irresistible puppy energy that makes every day a little brighter! When she’s not exploring or playing with her toys, she’s happiest curled up in bed, where she sleeps soundly through the night.   Pooh is still learning the ropes of puppy life — she’s mostly potty trained but may still have accidents, and she’s working hard on her manners, including understanding the word “no.” She’s crate trained and should be crated or gated when left alone, as her curious beagle nose can lead her into mischief. She rides well in the car (though drive&#226&#128&#145thrus aren’t her favorite), walks nicely on a leash, and is eager to keep learning with a patient, dog&#226&#128&#145savvy family.   She adores other dogs and would love a playful canine sibling to romp with! She’s also good with cats and would do well with respectful, dog&#226&#128&#145savvy kids. With her hound instincts, Pooh loves to sniff, explore, and follow scents, so a fenced yard or regular leashed adventures would make her very happy!   Pooh’s Precious Highlights: 6&#226&#128&#145month&#226&#128&#145old, 12 lb Bluetick Beagle puppy with tons of sweetness and playful energy Loves to explore and sniff — classic hound instincts in a tiny package Great with dogs, cats, and respectful kids Crate trained and should be crated or gated when left alone (curious puppy nose!) Mostly potty trained but still learning, as expected for her age Enjoys walks, rides well in the car, and is learning basic commands Plays wonderfully with other dogs and would love a playful canine sibling Sleeps through the night and loves cuddling when she’s not busy playing   Pooh is a remarkable little pup — sweet, energetic, curious, and full of love. She’s ready to grow, learn, and thrive with a family who can guide her through puppyhood and enjoy all the joy she brings!   Comprehensive details are provided in the dog's description. to ensure a smooth process, please submit a completed application through our website at: http://crisisdogsnc.org/dog-adoption/. Story
Meet Peabeau— a 7 year old, 42 lb Lab/Pit mix with the soul of a gentleman and the heart of a world class snuggler. Quick Facts: Name: Peabeau Breed: Labrador/Pitbull Terrier Mix Age: 7 years old Weight: 42 lbs. House-Trained: Working on it! Crate-Trained: Yes Good with Dogs: Yes Good with Cats: Not tested but likely fine Good with Kids: Yes Energy Level: Low (couch potato - has some arthritis due to age) Fence Required: No About Peabeau's Breed: Our best guess is that Peabeau is a Labrador/Pitbull Terrier mixed breed. Labrador/Pit Bull mixes often blend the best qualities of both breeds—the Lab’s friendly, eager to please nature and the Pit Bull’s affectionate, loyal, people oriented personality. They’re typically social, intelligent, and deeply bonded to their families, making them wonderful companions for both active adventures and relaxed downtime. Many have a playful streak paired with a gentle, loving disposition. An ideal home for a Lab/Pit mix is one that offers regular exercise, positive training, and plenty of companionship. They thrive with families who enjoy outdoor activities, appreciate a dog who wants to be part of daily life, and can provide structure and affection. With their big hearts and enthusiastic spirits, they do best in homes where they’re included, engaged, and loved as a true member of the family. What to Love about Peabeau: If you’ve been dreaming of a warm, loving couch companion, Peabeau is ready to claim that spot right beside you! He’s the ultimate cuddle buddy, a devoted shadow, and a calm, gentle presence who loves everyone he meets — people and dogs alike. Peabeau isn’t playful these days, but he has the quiet sophistication of an older gentleman who prefers observing the world from the comfort of a cozy couch. He would make the PERFECT Netflix partner and proudly considers himself a binge watching expert, as long as you’re there to share the blankets! Peabeau is soaking up every bit of comfort in his foster home — soft beds, warm blankets, and all the affection he can get! He’s still working on his potty training, but he’s crate trained, respectful in the house, and eager to learn. He absolutely adores his young human brother and loves being near him, offering gentle companionship throughout the day! Peabeau walks nicely on a leash and enjoys slow, easy strolls around the neighborhood. With his submissive, mellow nature, he would fit beautifully into any relaxed, laid back household. He doesn’t ask for much — just love, softness, and a place on the couch next to his people. Peabeau's Highlights: • 7 year old, 42 lb Lab/Pit mix with a sweet, gentle, couch potato personality • The ultimate snuggle buddy who loves blankets, soft beds, and being close to his people • Great with other dogs and has a calm, submissive personality • Absolutely adores his young human foster brother and enjoys being near him • Crate trained, respectful in the house, and working on potty training after previously living outdoors • Wonderful on leash and enjoys slow, easy neighborhood strolls • Not playful, but loves watching the world from the couch like a true gentleman (he has some arthritis due to age)  • Perfect fit for a relaxed, laid back household looking for a loving, low maintenance companion Peabeau is a sweet, calm, affectionate boy who’s ready to spend his golden years snuggled up with a family who cherishes him as much as he’ll cherish them!
