Story
Meet Your New Best Friend! 🐾 This sweet and energetic Yorkie is almost 2 years old and full of love and personality! He is mostly pad trained and happily goes outside to do his business, but he will need a patient owner to continue his training and help him shine. He’s up to date on all his vaccinations and enjoys life to the fullest. He loves going to daycare and even enjoys being boarded when his humans are out of town ;he thrives on social interaction and adventure! With his Meet Your New Best Friend, high-energy personality, he’d do best in a home with a yard where he can run and explore safely. He is curious and friendly, but he has not been around cats, so we are not sure how he’d react to feline friends yet. This little guy is looking for a forever home with someone patient and loving, who is ready to give him guidance, training, and endless affection. He is sure to bring joy, companionship, and tail wags to the lucky family who adopts him!

Loves to play and enjoys walks or backyard zoomies Smart and eager to learn—great for active, experienced dog parents Has an adorable “happy-feet” dance when he gets excited Fully vetted and ready to be someone’s best friend About Montana’s Breed Mix: American Staffordshire Terrier American Staffordshire Terrier mixes are affectionate, intelligent, and full of personality. These loyal companions are deeply devoted to their people and thrive when included in daily life. AmStaffs are strong, athletic, and playful, making them ideal for active homes where they can burn off energy and show off their smarts. With consistent training and socialization, they’re often great with other dogs and gentle with children. Confident yet loving, an AmStaff mix is a steady, soulful friend who brings both fun and loyalty into the home. Montana’s Story & Personality: Montana arrived severely neglected—emaciated and covered in wounds—but you’d never know it from his joyful spirit. This resilient boy greets everyone with a smile and a tail wag. He’s housetrained, walks beautifully on leash, and is looking for a home that can match his energy and enthusiasm for life. Montana adores people, especially those who give him attention (bonus points if you’re a delivery driver!). He thrives with structure and would love an adopter who can continue basic training. He’s very intelligent and eager to learn, making him a great student. Because of his exuberance, a home with older kids is ideal—Montana’s happy wiggles and “herding” behavior (yes, he may gently tug your shirt to guide you!) can be a bit much for little ones. He would truly shine in a household that values playful energy, daily walks, and affection on tap. Montana’s Perfect Home: Active adopter or family who can keep up with his energy Fenced yard or regular outdoor time to run and play Older children or teens who can enjoy his goofball nature A confident, experienced dog parent to continue training A family who wants a smart, affectionate, social pup to share adventures Ready to Make Montana Yours? She’s mostly leash trained and enjoys going on walks, but she also appreciates a cozy couch session afterward. Story
Meet Harley – A Loyal Companion with a Gentle Heart Breed: Terrier Mix Age: 4 years Weight: 22 lbs Location: Durham, NC House-trained: Yes Crate-trained: Yes Good with Dogs: Can be selective, meet and greet with existing dogs would be best Good with Kids: No small children Good with Cats: Not tested Energy Level: Low to Moderate Fenced Yard Required: Preferred Special Needs: Experienced adopter preferred due to reactivity and anxiety Harley is a sweet, soulful 4-year-old Terrier mix with a gentle heart and cautious nature. Weighing just 22 lbs, he’s the perfect size for cuddles and quiet companionship. Though shy and slow to warm up, Harley blossoms into a devoted shadow dog once he feels safe—always happiest curled up on the couch or nestled close to his person. About Harley’s Breed: Terriers were originally bred to be clever, brave, and tenacious, and Harley has inherited their sharp mind and loyalty—but in a much softer, more sensitive package. Terrier mixes often bond deeply with their people, and Harley is no exception. While some terriers are high-energy, Harley is mellow and calm indoors, with occasional playful bursts when the mood strikes. He is thoughtful, observant, and truly shines in a stable environment where he can build trust at his own pace. Harley’s Personality & Progress: Harley is house-trained, crate-trained, and has excellent manners—no chewing, no accidents, and he sleeps peacefully through the night. He prefers quiet nature walks to busy neighborhoods and enjoys time in peaceful, enclosed outdoor spaces. He is reactive to some dogs and sudden noises, but he’s made wonderful progress with redirection and positive reinforcement. Because of his reactivity and occasional anxiety (especially when left alone), Harley needs a patient, experienced adopter who understands how to manage a sensitive dog. Once he trusts you, Harley will give you his whole heart—he’s not just looking for a home, but for someone to belong to. Harley’s Ideal Home: Calm, quiet environment No small children Good as a solo dog, or with another dog with similar energy Secure fenced yard preferred Experienced, patient adopter willing to continue positive reinforcement training and offer routine and stability Harley is fully vetted, neutered, and ready to be someone’s loyal sidekick.
