Story
Roxanne (Roxy) has been a great dog. I've had her since she was born in January 2016. Her mom was a Pure Bred AKC Champion Show Siberian Husky that had a run in with a neighbor's fostered German Shepherd. She follows hand/verbal commands really well and is also able to learn new commands. She comes on a whistle or a snap of the fingers. She plays well with other dogs off leash at the dog park but becomes territorial at home or on the leash. She initially doesn't like men but there have been a few friends and family that are men she's warmed up to. So this would be a great dog for a woman that feels like she would needs extra security. I also think she would be a great farm dog and protective of property in that way. She's lived with 2 dogs and 2 cats, as well as 2 toddlers for a few years and I have not had any issues. She can be a grumpy old lady some times but for the most part, she's very pleasant and cuddly.

Story
We got Bear Bear when our first child was 3. He’s always been good, he plays with our five year old. He sounds a bit aggressive but he has never hurt her or us. Sadly, with our work schedule, and taking care of our two children he doesn’t get as much love as he deserves.. We want to find a good home for him, he’s very sweet and has some anxiety. We simply don’t give him what he needs.

Story
I’m currently being showcased by the Humane Society of Morrow County in hopes of finding my forever home. My previous owner made the loving decision to surrender me so I could have the best life possible, and now I’m ready for my fresh start. I’m about 3 years old (born July 2023) and weigh around 75 pounds — just the right size for big hugs! Here’s a little about me: • 🐾 Spayed female • 💉 Current on DHLP, Bordetella and rabies vaccines • ❤️ Heartworm negative • 👧 Good with kids • 🐱 Curious about cats • 🏡 House trained I’m in the prime of my life and have so much love to give. Whether it’s long walks, cozy evenings, or just being your loyal companion, I’m ready to be your best friend. Could you be the one to give me the forever home I’ve been waiting for?

Story
Peanut was a previous shelter dog that was trained in the prison. Upon his return, through no fault of his own, he was returned to the prison to continue his training.Peanut was not returned to us by his previous adopters, however he was found wandering so we have no idea why the previous adopters chose not to keep him.His manners and behaviors at the prison are spot on and he knows his commands, his handler states he is perfect!Peanut does well with other dogs, plays very well with them and when not playing he is calm and loves to relax. If you are interested in Peanut please call or email and we will explain how the process with meeting him is arranged. ***he is NOT at the shelter----an appointment must be arranged and scheduled to go to the prison to do so.He is neutered, vaccinated, wormed, and microchipped.Morrow County Dog Shelter, Mt. Story
Ivan is about 1 yr old and is ALL puppy.  He will require some obedience training BUT he is very eager to learn and is food/treat motivated.  He does know the 'sit' command and will do so when asked (most of the time).  He loves toys and is very energetic---so he will require regular a home with someone that is prepared to exercise him regularly. He may be partially housetrained however on occasion he does have accidents here.  Ivan has been tested with another dog, Isacc, whom he lived with prior to coming to the shelter BUT he will need to meet all new potential housemates prior to adoption being approved.  Ivan and Isacc play pretty well together during play group.  If you have interest please stop in during our regular business hours to meet and apply for him. Dogs do not go home the same day as meeting--we review applications first.   Morrow County Dog Shelter, Mt. Gilead, OH. 419-946-1747January 4, 2025, 10:30 am
