Story
Hi! Meet Scooby. :) My ex and I rescued Scooby back in 2015 from a bad situation. We were told he was about 2.5 years old, so to the best of my knowledge, he is about 11-12 now, but you would never know it by the way he acts! Scooby is a very hyper, very anxious dog so he needs a lot of run time. He does not do well left alone as he has very bad separation anxiety, which makes re-homing him even harder for me; however, we found he does best with another dog! My ex originally took both dogs as we decided we did not want to separate the two, however, Scooby showed up at my home last year alone and has been living outside as I have a chinchilla. Now, I am looking to relocate to Colorado and cannot take him with me. I have tried to ask people in my circle before and no one can or will help. Now that I have made it through his worst qualities, if you are still here please know he is such a happy, loving dog. He is a big lap dog and will take over your bed if you let him!

Story
This is Roxy. Roxy is incredibly sweet and adores all people, and meeting new friends. She likes cuddling, butt scratches, and tug of war. I'm looking for someone who can spend more time with her than I can and help her get out of the house and better tend to her needs. A fenced in yard would be best. She loves running in open spaces (and has the best smile while she does), and visiting the dog parks, and I would really like her to have those opportunities. Someone who can be active WITH HER and attentive to her would be ideal, even though she does well on lazy days with you at home. After life and job changes I live alone and do not have the time give her what I feel she deserves. She does have bad habits, mostly because I'm not with her enough to enforce manners. She jumps on new people to say hello, she is a counter surfer, will pull you while on leash, and to be honest, she farts a lot. She does sit well, takes treats gently, and will let you know when she needs to go outside.

Story
Born 4-1-18 Jax is almost 6 years old. He has only been with one owner since he was a puppy. Shots are all up to date. Jax is very intelligent. He is extremely obedient. Jax knows many commands including: sit, stay, place, crate, drop it, heal, sniff, touch, spin, and out. He is house and crate trained. He loves belly rubs. He loves playing fetch with a ball or frisbee and loves to do it everyday if possible. He does get nervous around children and can be protective over his owner. This dog belongs to my daughter who has a young child and although Jax has never bitten the child, she sees signs of nervousness and has seen glimpses of aggressive moves toward her 10 month old child so she feels she cannot keep the dog. Jax is currently residing with us (her parents) and he has always been very good for us. Jax gets along well with dogs he knows. He is E-collar trained. His trainer stated that he is a smart and a typical Ausie who likes to herd. He is an active couch potato!

Story
Scout is a 77lb mostly german shepherd mix who's probably around two years old. A beloved family dog, he is up to date on his shots and meds and comes with most of a years’ supply of heartworm and flea meds and his cage and all his other accessories including kibble. He has no known medical issues apart from being allergic to fleas. He is in need of a new home because our son developed a severe dog allergy. He is used to living with 5 kids including younger ones who sometimes climb on him when they shouldn't, he has been good about tolerating that and removing himself from situations he doesn't like. Scout LOVES walks and car rides. He is fine with being on a leash when he needs to be. He did not enjoy a leashed home setup when we tried that so for containment I recommend a fenced area with a tall fence and anti-dig measures Medium energy levels, Scout is generally mellow but will get energized when he's excited about something like food or a walk.

Story
Mercedes was adopted from us 5-1/2 yrs ago but recently returned due to high separation anxiety. She is approximately 7 yrs old and is a Mastiff/Boxer mix. She lived with another large dog and did ok.....but is not good with small dogs. She was recently surrendered back to us, primarily due to her high separation anxiety---she does NOT like to be left alone. She is medicated to help with the issue. Mercedes loves to go for walks and be near and with her people. She would do best in a home where she is either the center of attention and/or her owner is home a lot. 8/1/2023---Mercedes is now enrolled in our prison training program.  Anyone interested in her must contact us via email to set up a time to meet her.  She is not at the shelter.....all meetings will occur at the prison once an appointment is scheduled.   Morrow County Dog Shelter, Mt.
