Story
Born 4-1-18 Jax is almost 6 years old. He has only been with one owner since he was a puppy. Shots are all up to date. Jax is very intelligent. He is extremely obedient. Jax knows many commands including: sit, stay, place, crate, drop it, heal, sniff, touch, spin, and out. He is house and crate trained. He loves belly rubs. He loves playing fetch with a ball or frisbee. Loving Dog who will sit at your feet. He does get nervous around children and can be protective over his owner. This dog belongs to my daughter who has a young child and although Jax has never bitten the child, she sees signs of nervousness and has seen glimpses of aggressive moves toward her 10 month old child so she feels she cannot keep the dog. Jax is currently residing with us (her parents) and he has always been very good for us. Jax gets along well with dogs he knows. He is E-collar trained. His trainer stated that he is a smart and a typical Ausie who likes to herd. He is an active couch potato!

Story
I got Charlie almost 5 years ago as a puppy, we tried adopting different dogs to give him companionship but he has always preferred to be a single dog. He also prefers females humans over males. He recently has become aggressive toward my five year old son and my husband when they come near me. He has attachment issues and severe separation anxiety from his person he bonds with. He would be best for a single woman looking for a protector.

Story
Mercedes was adopted from us 5-1/2 yrs ago but recently returned due to high separation anxiety. She is approximately 7 yrs old and is a Mastiff/Boxer mix. She lived with another large dog and did ok.....but is not good with small dogs. She was recently surrendered back to us, primarily due to her high separation anxiety---she does NOT like to be left alone. She is medicated to help with the issue. Mercedes loves to go for walks and be near and with her people. She would do best in a home where she is either the center of attention and/or her owner is home a lot. 8/1/2023---Mercedes is now enrolled in our prison training program.  Anyone interested in her must contact us via email to set up a time to meet her.  She is not at the shelter.....all meetings will occur at the prison once an appointment is scheduled.   Morrow County Dog Shelter, Mt. Story
Domino is a 4 yr old mixed breed.  He has some traits/characteristics as well as looks of Boxer, Hound and Rottweiler.  He is around 56 lbs, playful, confident and is a dominant male so he MUST meet any new housemates before adoption will be approved.  Our suggestion would be a female dog as a companion however he could do fine alone as well. It si unknown how he is with cats and children. He is scheduled to be neutered on 12/6/2022. Here is a link to his TikTok video: https://www.tiktok.com/@caninemoon/video/7163805181610675499?is_copy_url=1&is_from_webapp=v1   Anyone interested in him can meet him at the shelter and complete an application if you want to be considered.
