Meet Pepper! Pepper is a shy, 4.5 year old Bernedoodle who is bonded to her friend Cheddar. These two will need to find their forever home together. Pepper came from a difficult past life and is trying to learn that the world is safe and humans can be kind. She arrived very shut down and scared. Pepper is in a foster home now and is slowly learning how to be a dog. She has learned how to take treats from your hand- as long as she is sitting in the safety of her crate. She loves to follow Cheddar outside to the backyard and run around with her. She will then follow Cheddar back inside. Sometimes Pepper actually takes the lead and Cheddar will follow her back inside. They love to run and chase each other! Pepper does not know what to do with a toy, but often fills her crate with them. She also is venturing out of her crate into other rooms more and more. Pepper will need a patient adopter who is willing to give her time to decompress, build trust and come out of her shell at her own pace. While she may be timid now, we believe she has so much potential. She has already made great strides and shown us that she wants affection and wants to feel loved. With time, patience and love, Pepper and Cheddar could truly blossom into wonderful companions!

Meet Butter! This handsome 1.5-year-old Vizsla mix is a sweet, gentle boy who is learning that the world isn't such a scary place. Coming from a hoarding situation, Butter is still building confidence, but his progress in foster care has been wonderful to see! He has recently started accepting gentle pets from his foster family and even taking treats right from their hands. Cheese is definitely the way to his heart! When he isn't enjoying a tasty treat, you can usually find him relaxing with one of his favorite bones. Butter is a quiet, calm boy who eats well and is mostly house-trained. He isn't ready for leash walks just yet, as they cause him quite a bit of anxiety, but he does a great job learning by watching the other dogs around him. Having a canine companion helps him feel safe and gives him the confidence to explore the world at his own pace. Butter will need a home with a resident dog and a securely fenced yard. He does well with cats, too, and generally ignores them. He has warmed up to the women in his foster home but remains wary of men, so a home with a woman would be ideal. Most importantly, Butter needs a patient, understanding family willing to give him the time and space he needs to feel comfortable. Butter may need extra time to come out of his shell, but watching him learn to trust is incredibly rewarding. With a dog friend to show him the ropes and a person willing to celebrate the little victories, Butter has so much potential to blossom!
