Story
🖤FOSTER-TO-ADOPT RAISA🖤 Female | 3Y | 23.8KG | Lab Mix | Spayed | UTD on shots | Good with dogs | Cat tested | Not kid tested Raisa is described by her rescuers as playful and affectionate. She loves to cuddle, is sociable and well-mannered, and finds joy in engaging with both humans and other dogs. She is an obedient dog who will adapt well to new commands! Raisa will need a family who is willing to provide all basic training and teach her the ropes of living in a home environment. Joy has met cats, and does try to chase - if her new family has a cat, it will be important to implement slow, proper introductions. Raisa has not yet met children but could do well with proper introductions. Raisa's flight from Mexico can be arranged as soon as we find her forever family! 🖤FOSTER-TO-ADOPT DEMIAN🖤 M | 4Y | 22 KG | Lab mix | Neutered | UTD on shots | Good with dogs | Interest in cats but no prey drive | Not kid-tested Demian is currently hanging out with our rescue partners in Mexico! He's super excited to find his furever family here in Canada! Demian is described by his rescuers as a gentle and calm dog. Because of his low to medium energy level, he may not show his excitement by jumping for joy, but there is no mistaking how much he loves seeing his humans. Demian loves to play with humans and other dogs but will enjoy your companionship over his fellow canines. He enjoys spending time on the couch and cuddling next to his loved ones. Demian is very sweet and obedient, which shows his aptitude to pick up new commands. A family that can provide a backyard so Demian can relax and enjoy the outside would be a dream come true for him! He would love a family that will let him cuddle with them on the couch all day. Demian's flight can be arranged as soon as we find his forever family! Story
🖤ADOPT BLUES🖤 M | 5Y | 29 KG | Mixed Breed | Neutered | UTD on shots | Housebroken | Good with dogs | Not cat and kid tested | Likely good with dog savvy kids | Fostered in London, ON After spending the last 5 years of his life working for an industrial sled dog operation, Blues is ready to kick up his paws and enjoy retirement! He acts just like a puppy in many ways and is very happy-go-lucky. Blues loves being around his people and will never say no to hugs and kisses. He would love to be your shadow all day if you let him! Blues may not understand the intricacies of a new environment, but he's happy to be along for the ride. His ideal day would include lots of cuddles and some high-energy activities like running or chasing. Blues has made lots of progress acclimating to an indoor space and is no longer afraid of the stairs, tile floors, or reflective surfaces! Despite difficulties with crate training and basic obedience training, Blues has been trying his best and is great at recall. Blues has also had some issues with resource guarding but is getting better with consistent encouragement and the guarantee of a safe space with a closed door during food time. As Blues is not big on crate training, he has broken out of his crate on a few occasions. Because of his love for inanimate objects, Blues will inhale the first object in his reach when bored and alone, which means he needs to be watched closely by his forever family. Blues has had medical complications related to this but is now feeling much better. As long as Blues is monitored, he is the sweetest boy you could ever meet! Blues is currently fostered with two doggy siblings and is great at interacting with them. He is very comfortable with the pack dynamic and being with his siblings has helped build his confidence! He has not met any kids but judging from his instant affection around new people, he may do well with dog-savvy kids. He has also not met any cats. This love bug is looking for his forever family to provide all the love and attention he needs! If you're looking for a sweet and happy dog always ready to be at your side, Blues is the dog for you! Story
🖤ADOPT MAY-WEST🖤 F | 9Y | 25.1 KG | HUSKY MALAMUTE MIX | UTD on shots | Too be spayed | Housebroken | Crate Training in process | Male dogs preferred | Most likely no cats | Not kid-tested | Fostered in Toronto Miss May-West is the sweetest, most distinguished lady you'll ever meet! She loves greeting new people with kisses and loves everyone in her family. After her long-standing career as the bestest sled dog, this lady is finally able to relax and enjoy retirement. May loves to be pet, especially belly scratches and will let you know if you stop too early with a reproachful look. May has been very brave in adjusting to her new life but will benefit from a forever family willing to work on building her confidence. She settles very well inside the house, but that doesn't mean she doesn't need a lot of walks! May loves to go to the park and sniff all the new, interesting things in her environment. She is very intuitive with training and is a certified prodigy in learning new commands - she learned to sit and come on the third day with her foster family! May West has briefly interacted with other dogs, and preferred males to females - with proper introductions, she would most likely do well in a home with a male dog. Fosters have noticed that she loves squirrel hunting, and would probably do best in a home with no small animals. May West has briefly met small children, and with proper introductions could do well in a home with children. May's perfect family would be content to relax at home with her but also willing to take her on adventures outside or some sprinting in the park. She loves her routine of training, cuddling, then a nap. Her forever family will encourage her to continue to become more confident and work on her training, even when some of the husky shows through. If this laid-back, gentle lady sounds like your perfect dog, apply now -> https://www.barkatthemoonrescue.ca/dog-adoption-application
