Story
Please help, I have a wonderful 10 month old puppy that I am no longer able to care for and this is affecting him and extremely unfair for him to have to go through this since I'm the one who is sick. In October I was rushed to hospital for emergency surgery on my spine. I have partial paralysis and am now confined to a wheelchair 90% of the time. I am no longer able to even let him outside at home, and do not feel it is fair to him as he is still a puppy. He is not able to go for walks anymore or play dates with my friends dogs…He is a great dog and is really loving. Just wants to be with you always! Has a good demeanor, no bite history, and is good with my kids(5 and 9 yrs old) He is not good on a leash as my working with him stopped when he was 6 months old, and he does get over excited and will jump sometimes. He was doing great and was very trainable, so I hope someone can start working with him again to get him back on track. My kids and I love him and this breaks our hearts but

Hi! I'm Kenzu, a 2 year old Labrador Husky. I'm adorable, fun, highly energetic and stubborn! My naughty traits: I can be destructive when I'm upset or just bored! But yet I'm still a sweet dog. So, if you have a loving home and can dedicate your time to me. Please reach out so I can meet you, thanks!

Story
My name may be Rambo, but I'm nothing like the dude in the action movies. I'm more like Goofy, you know, the cartoon! I am a Coonhound. Probably the most handsome Coonhound you've ever seen actually. Now, if you don't know much about the awesomness that is a hound dog, please move along. I need someone who understands me, you know? Someone who can accept my natural abilities. What are those? Well, let me tell you! I have the best singing voice! Its called baying. Not braying, thats a donkey. And I will sing to you and your neighbours all day if you let me. Squirrel in the yard? I'll sing! Leaf falling from the sky? I'll sing! You stopped touching me? I'll sing for that too! Oh, and I can smell any pesky vermin you can think of. Once I catch that stink I can't contain myself! I just have to go find it! So hold on tight, because sometimes I forget theres a human at the other end of the leash. I'm still learning. On that note, you probably shouldn't ever have me off leash.... what can I say, I'm good at my job. In fact, my new family should probably get me working. Lastly, rub my soft luxurious ears and I'll melt all your stress away. Speaking of new family. I can go to a home with kids 12 and older, not that I don't like the little ones, I'm just a big lug with the grace of a drunken rhino... I also shouldn't live small animals...for obvious reasons. Other dogs? Yes, but only friendly females that are my size or bigger. I just need someone willing to work with me. Someone who accepts me even when I'm loud, or being stubborn. Someone as active as me, someone who loves the outdoors as much as me and someone who will be with me most of the time. I know I seem like I've got it all together, but I get upset and anxious when I'm alone. But that's ok, my person is out there somewhere! Could it be you?

Story
Adalynn (Addy) is currently seeking a foster or adoptive family. She is located in the Niagara area. Apply to foster or adopt at rebeldogrescue.com All adoptions with Rebel Dog Rescue have a 15 day probation period. Read about our adoption process on our website. Adalynn is a very special girl who has had a challenging start to life. At only 8 months old, she was found as a stray and taken to a kill shelter. Fortunately, Addy was saved from euthansia. She is a scared girl with no known back story before the kill shelter. Whatever her story is, Addy needs to rebuild her confidence. As such, we are looking for a patient adopter. An adopter that can spend time with Addy helping her feel safe. Addy would thrive in a household where structure and guidance are provided for her to be her best self.Addy has been in Board and Train for approximately 3 months and has done very well (more details on that in a moment). Prior to her training program Addy lived in a foster home. In the foster home she had no accidents (with scheduled breaks). In her new home she will need consistency to learn a new schedule and how to signal she needs let out for her breaks. In her foster she slept through the night from about 10-8 without any accidents and minimal movement. Addy enjoys; toys, treats and naps close by her people. Board and Train Update: Addy has built her confidence and learned so much in her board and train program. Her ability to follow food and seek positive reinforcement is helping her walk away from uncomfortable situations (interaction with other dogs). Addy is experiencing much less stress now with this understanding. Addy is e-collar trained and is thriving with this added form of communication the collar offers. We are able to communicate with Addy by sending low level impulses similar to using leash pressure to guide her in the right direction. Addys new owner(s) will be shown exactly how the training works and what it takes to maintain it!Addy has so much potential. She truly has all the qualities to make her an amazing companion, she just needs someone to say we got this and lead the way Name: Adalynn (Addy)Weight: ~58lb with maybe some growing to doAge: ~1 Year Gender: Female Breed: Lab mix Colour: Black/brindle Medical: No concerns Fixed: Yes Good with men: YesGood with women: YesGood with kids: 16+. Addy has been fostered with older kids (age 12) and did well. Given Addy is insecure we would like to err on the side of caution to ensure long-term success. Story
Taurus and his friends are favourites among the staff and volunteers here at the shelter. Taurus has the purest of hearts and is looking for a family to call his own. Having spent his whole life on a chain his new home will be very patient with him as he learns what is expected of him as he becomes a well loved dog. He will need a fenced yard with owners who will supervise him in the yard as he can jump a 6 foot fence if he is left alone. There will be no small children as he has no idea how to act around them and no other small animals as he does have prey drive. We believe he would do well with a friendly female dog as a companion. We have no doubt you will fall in love with him once you meet him.

Story
Asher has a sense of humor and is always happy!!! He loves playing with toys or just hanging out with you chewing a bone by your feet. His perfect home has no cats, a fenced yard and no dogs he does not like to share his humans. His family has children over the age of 7 and are used to big dogs who love being part of the family. Asher is going to add lots of laughs and joy to a family. He needs a bit of socializing and shown that the world is not as scary as he things it is.
