Story
This is Bepsi. He is a young dog that was found alone in the rain in Northern Manitoba. When he was saved, he was severely injured, with a massive abscess above his right eye. He was taken to the emergency vet, where it was drained and cleaned, but unfortunately he also suffered a fractured skull. It is presumed that he was attacked by a much larger dog. Bepsi is missing the right half of his brain and will be a special needs dog who may have a limited ability to do normal "dog" things but still deserves all the love. He loves car rides, chewing and baths. He cannot play normal games like fetch or tug of war but put a toy in his mouth and let him spin and he will have a blast. He loves cuddles and playing with other dogs who can be delicate with him. Due to his traumatic brain Injury he obsessively spins and will require special care for the term of his life. He needs reminders sometimes to stop spinning. You can pick him up, hug him, hold him or give him a toy to chew on in bed. He responds to clicking or snapping sounds to help stop spinning or move him forward. Baby gates, supervision and safety protocols are advised. His life span is not suspected to be affected. Weight: ~40lbs Good with men: yesGood with women: yesGood with kids 0-6: noGood with kids 6+: yesGood with dogs: yes, but with supervision because he doesn’t have the reflexes or awareness to move out of their way if they are running Good with cats: yes, Cat friends are perfect for him because they can play with him without restraint or worry of sizing or hurting him.House trained: yes, but has frequent incontinence due to traumatic brain damage. Requires diapers or pee pads and frequent potty breaks. Requires consistent skin care to avoid break down or urine burns due to incontinence.Crate trained: yesResource guarding: noWalks on a leash: he gets tangled easily due to spinning, gets exercise by other means.Energy level: lowRequires detached/single home: noSeparation anxiety: cannot be left alone for long term. When he is left alone for short terms, he shows no sign of separation anxiety Barker: averageIdeal Home: someone who works from home or can be home with him throughout the day. Doesn’t require much space. Would be a great ride along buddy for a driver or if he could attend work with owner.Medical:Bepsi is missing the right half of his brain and requires special needs care in areas stated above. He may require ongoing medication to assist with relaxing or reduction of spinning.

*Fostered in Guelph*Apply at rebeldogrescue.com*APPLY TO FOSTER TO ADOPTGabriella is a friendly, easygoing dog who walks well on leash, takes direction well, and has been social with everyone she’s met. When she arrived in rescue, Gabriella was very underweight and suffering from untreated flea allergies. With proper care, a quality diet, and allergy management, she has made great progress and continues to do well.Gabriella enjoys spending time with her people and other dogs, but she’s also happy to relax independently. She would do best in a home with another well-mannered, social, and confident dog, as she thrives with canine companionship.More than anything, Gabriella is looking for a safe, loving home where she can continue to thrive.Name: Gabriella Breed: Bully mix Age: ~2 yearsWeight: ~30lbSex: Female, spayedColour: GreyMedical: Flea allergies upon intake; suggest fish oil supplement long term Good with men: Yes, friendly and outgoingGood with women: Yes, friendly and outgoingGood with kids 0-6: Unknown, not tested - yes, based on temperament. Gabriella has confident energy - but takes the copilot role when the other dog takes the lead. She may be too much for teeny tiny dogs but is happy to play with other friendly medium + dogs as long as proper introductions are done.Good with Cats: Unknown, not testedCrate training: Enters crate willingly, Settles after some barking/whiningHouse training: Almost perfectly house trained - about 90% thereResource gaurding: None seenWalks on a leash: Walks wellEnergy level: Medium - enjoys regular exercise and adventures as well as relaxing calmly in the homeAreas to work on: She is a well rounded dog that is certainly " confident " by most peoples standards, but she does seem to seek comfort from outside sources rather than internally. The further she is removed from the shelter environment the more she will start to feel a sense of calm and peace internally.Any noted separation anxiety? None seen. Barker: Average

APPLY TO FOSTER TO ADOPTFostered in Waterdown Ontario Meet Ruby, a stunning reddish-brown Australian Shepherd mix with a heart as big as her energy for life! Ruby is the perfect blend of intelligence, athleticism, and affection. This sweet, gentle girl has already proven herself to be a great foster pup, and now she’s ready to find a forever home where she can truly shine. Ruby is friendly, quiet, non-destructive, and loves being part of the action - whether that’s playing with toys, engaging in training, or joining her doggy daycare buddies twice a week (where she’s thriving!). She walks nicely on leash, is house-trained, crate-savvy, and has no medical concerns. Ruby would do best in an active, adult-focused home that can provide her with plenty of exercise, enrichment, and continued training. She’s highly toy-motivated and would excel in dog sports like agility, dock diving, or frisbee. She has some herding instincts and a touch of excitability, so she’d benefit from a home that appreciates her drive and is excited to help her channel it into fun, structured activities. Ruby gets along well with other calm dogs, is friendly with people (though she may be a bit shy with men at first), and is eager to bond deeply with her humans. If you’re looking for a loyal, smart, and active companion to share your adventures, Ruby might just be your perfect match!Name: RubyBreed: Australian Shepherd X Mystery Mutt!Age: ~1.5 yearsWeight: ~35lbSex: Female, spayedColour: Reddish brownMedical: No concerns Good with men: Yes, but shy and warms up quicklyGood with women: Yes, friendly and outgoingGood with kids 0-6: Unknown, not testedGood with kids 7-15: Unknown, not tested - suspect yes Has this dog ever bitten or attempted to bite? Story
PopPop is fostered in Niagara FallsFOSTER TO ADOPTPop Pop is that cool grandpa you hope to be like one day. He is well mannered in the kennel, walks great on the leash, takes directions well, and has been friendly with everyone he’s met. He’s got a youthful presence and has aged very well - but Pop Pop does also have a few bumps that show his age. He loves to interact and run around with other friendly dogs - and has a great give and take play style. Pop Pop would do best in a moderately active home that could provide at least one good walk each day. He is happy to accept affection and loves his people, but is good at keeping himself entertained with toys or a buddy.Name: Pop PopBreed: Mixed Breed - Terrier mixAge: ~10 yearsWeight: ~41lbSex: Male, neutered Colour: White and black Medical: Dental with extractions due to severe dental disease; Sternum has four raised hairless areas of swelling. The pores in these areas are inflamed and enlarged. When the pores are squeezed cystic material comes out. Suspect benign cysts not of concern. Good with men: Yes, friendly and outgoingGood with women: Yes, friendly and outgoingGood with kids 0-6: Yes, but has not lived with small childrenGood with kids 7-15: Yes, but has not lived with childrenWhen the dog meets new people he…Approaches happily/outgoing, Wants affection, Happy tail wag, Loose body languageGood with dogs: Yes, enjoys being around and playing with other dogsWhat type(s) of dogs does this dog prefer/be best with? Pop Pop prefers other friendly / outgoing dogs who don't try to be overly dominant. He is happy to be submissive and let the other dog be the boss as long as it's all in good fun.Good with Cats: Maybe. Pop Pop was cat tested on leash with the cats contained in their kennels. He was curious of and happy to meet them at the kennel - presenting with a loose body. The cats swatted and hissed, so Pop Pop happily backed away and wanted to leave the room.Crate training: Enters crate with some coaxing, Settles after some barking/whiningHouse training: Yes Resource Guarding: None seenWalks on a leash: Walks wellEnergy level: Medium - enjoys regular exercise and adventures as well as relaxing calmly in the homeAny noted separation anxiety? Story
*Fostered in St. Catharines Ontario *Apply at rebeldogrescue.com*APPLY TO FOSTER TO ADOPTTroy came to rescue as  an anxious dog trying to find peace and comfort in this scary world.  He has quickly  opened up and once he feels safe is a total love bug! He is thriving in his foster home and soaks up all the love and attention he can get! Troy was found running loose out in the county with another Pug mix when a citizen brought them to us. The sibling has since been adopted and Troy has been left all alone. He would thrive in a home that could offer a calm space to decompress in a compassionate understanding of his need to feel safe before he opens up. We are hopeful that Troy's people find him and give him the life he deserves. *See social media for videos Foster update Troy is a lovable little guy who is ready to find his forever family! This handsome boy has settled in beautifully and shows more of his sweet personality every day.  The first few days he was nervous and jumpy, but once he knew he was safe his personality began to show.    He absolutely loves people and greets everyone he meets like a friend. If you’re looking for a dog who enjoys affection, Troy is your guy—he’s always happy to hand out kisses and soak up attention.Troy is fully house-trained and reliably does his business as soon as he goes outside. He has had no accidents 👍. He’s also doing well with crate training. While he lets out a little whine at first, he settles quickly, especially if there are a few treats waiting for him. Troy is very food-motivated🦴He has plenty of energy and loves to play, bounce around, and explore. Once he’s had a chance to burn off some excitement, he relaxes into a well-mannered and affectionate companion. He’s also getting along great with his foster family’s two small dogs.Troy loves his meals, enjoys his treats, and most of all, he loves being with his people.Name: TroyBreed: Pug mixAge: ~2 yearsWeight: ~18lbSex: Male, neutered Colour: TanMedical: Troy sustained bruising / bleeding around his prepuce and scrotum immediately following neuter - no current concerns. Good with men: yesGood with women: yesGood with kids: Unknown - suggest 12+ dog savvy Has this dog ever bitten or attempted to bite? No, Troy has never attempted to bite as his first reaction is generally to try and get away from new people. People should allow him to approach them first before attempting to force engagement. When the dog meets new people he has been very excited and friendly   Good with dogs: Yes - happy to coexist. Fostered with multiple dogs and does well. What type(s) of dogs does this dog prefer/be best with? Confident/ easy going as he sometime gets overly excited.Good with Cats: Presumed to be good with cats based on cat-test. We walked Troy on a leash into our cat room with all the cats in their kennels. Troy cautiously approached the cats and showed a healthy respect of them. All new cat introductions should be done slowly and with care - but our initial test led us to believe that he may be able to coexist happily with a cat.Crate training: Enters with treats and settles aftera short period of whining. He does well in the crate generally. House training: yesResource Guarding: None seenWalks on a leash: Generally does wellEnergy level: Medium Areas to work on: Fearful of loud noisesWhat type of environments would NOT be suitable for the dog? Potentially a busy city area as he has a lot of fears he needs to work on Any noted separation anxiety? None seen Barker: Average
