Story
Bauer is a very loving and energetic 4 year old dog.He was given to us at 8 months old, and was a fully outdoor dog. He is house trained. Tried crate training did not work for us, he likes to sleep near his people. He has always been decently good with our own children and older dog but has shown some nipoing towards other smaller children and our small cats so we have them separated at all times.Would do well with a friend of the same size or larger - a nice big yard and someone to walk him often/leash train him more. He is usually walked with a prong collar, does well most times. He can jump most fences, and always will when seeing other animals walk by which has become one of our bigger issues unfortunately - his overly exciting playfulness can appear scary due to his size.He deserves a loving home that can give the attention and training he needs and unfortunately our lifestyle changes have meant our time to train him has gotten less and less over time.

Story
She is named “Narcissa” because she’s pale golden and beautiful like the flower…but “Cissy” suits her sweetness and spark! Although she’s only just over a year old, her puppy days were turbulent. Rescued off of the streets, she was taken in by a kind-hearted woman who is overwhelmed with other animals and cannot give this angel the home she deserves. Cissy is likely a lab/terrier/greyhound mix. 40-50lbs of bright energy and love. She adores people and kids who don’t mind a flurry of cuddles and kisses! She chases and wants to play with kitties, and other dogs might not appreciate her puppy antics and lack of manners. She has a lot to learn but is very smart and trainable! Cissy’s current owner is willing to help cover the cost of her vetting and spay…to ensure she gets a great start with a family who will adore her as much as she will love them back! Who will bring home this bundle of joy? Cissy is waiting with a smile to find out!

Story
This is Bepsi. He is a young dog that was found alone in the rain in Northern Manitoba. When he was saved, he was severely injured, with a massive abscess above his right eye. He was taken to the emergency vet, where it was drained and cleaned, but unfortunately he also suffered a fractured skull. It is presumed that he was attacked by a much larger dog. Bepsi is missing the right half of his brain and will be a special needs dog who may have a limited ability to do normal "dog" things but still deserves all the love. He loves car rides, chewing and baths. He cannot play normal games like fetch or tug of war but put a toy in his mouth and let him spin and he will have a blast. He loves cuddles and playing with other dogs who can be delicate with him. Due to his traumatic brain Injury he obsessively spins and will require special care for the term of his life. He needs reminders sometimes to stop spinning. You can pick him up, hug him, hold him or give him a toy to chew on in bed. He responds to clicking or snapping sounds to help stop spinning or move him forward. Baby gates, supervision and safety protocols are advised. His life span is not suspected to be affected. Weight: ~40lbs Good with men: yesGood with women: yesGood with kids 0-6: noGood with kids 6+: yesGood with dogs: yes, but with supervision because he doesn’t have the reflexes or awareness to move out of their way if they are running Good with cats: yes, Cat friends are perfect for him because they can play with him without restraint or worry of sizing or hurting him.House trained: yes, but has frequent incontinence due to traumatic brain damage. Requires diapers or pee pads and frequent potty breaks. Requires consistent skin care to avoid break down or urine burns due to incontinence.Crate trained: yesResource guarding: noWalks on a leash: he gets tangled easily due to spinning, gets exercise by other means.Energy level: lowRequires detached/single home: noSeparation anxiety: cannot be left alone for long term. When he is left alone for short terms, he shows no sign of separation anxiety Barker: averageIdeal Home: someone who works from home or can be home with him throughout the day. Doesn’t require much space. Would be a great ride along buddy for a driver or if he could attend work with owner.Medical:Bepsi is missing the right half of his brain and requires special needs care in areas stated above. He may require ongoing medication to assist with relaxing or reduction of spinning.

Story
PopPop is fostered in Niagara FallsFOSTER TO ADOPTPop Pop is that cool grandpa you hope to be like one day. He is well mannered in the kennel, walks great on the leash, takes directions well, and has been friendly with everyone he’s met. He’s got a youthful presence and has aged very well - but Pop Pop does also have a few bumps that show his age. He loves to interact and run around with other friendly dogs - and has a great give and take play style. Pop Pop would do best in a moderately active home that could provide at least one good walk each day. He is happy to accept affection and loves his people, but is good at keeping himself entertained with toys or a buddy.Name: Pop PopBreed: Mixed Breed - Terrier mixAge: ~10 yearsWeight: ~41lbSex: Male, neutered Colour: White and black Medical: Dental with extractions due to severe dental disease; Sternum has four raised hairless areas of swelling. Pop Pop prefers other friendly / outgoing dogs who don't try to be overly dominant. He is happy to be submissive and let the other dog be the boss as long as it's all in good fun.Good with Cats: Maybe. Pop Pop was cat tested on leash with the cats contained in their kennels. He was curious of and happy to meet them at the kennel - presenting with a loose body. The cats swatted and hissed, so Pop Pop happily backed away and wanted to leave the room.Crate training: Enters crate with some coaxing, Settles after some barking/whiningHouse training: Yes Resource Guarding: None seenWalks on a leash: Walks wellEnergy level: Medium - enjoys regular exercise and adventures as well as relaxing calmly in the homeAny noted separation anxiety? Story
Name: Rex Breed: Dutch Shepherd x Malinois (as per previous owner) DOB/Sex: Jan 4, 2024/M Known Health Issues: None at this time. Good With: Currently Rex is best suited for an only pet home. Please see bio. ADULT ONLY HOME. NO DOG PARKS. *Bite History* *AVAILABLE AS FOSTER TO ADOPT* Rex is a fun loving, goofy, giant ball of energy with a lot of opinions. He has been through a lot in his young life, and is ready to take a well structured path forward. Rex arrived in rescue explosive, unsure, and used to throwing his weight around. He is a big, tall boy, currently about 83lbs, and an absolute bulldozer. He had no respect for leash pressure, and was very disconnected from his handler. Since arriving he has made fantastic strides. His personality has really started to come through, and he is enjoying trying new things, and his confidence grows with each outting. He is very much a work in progress, but I feel it would be beneficial to him, and his future home, to start working together now, to hopefully have a smoother transition when he is 100% ready. Rex is currently not other animal safe. I have seen hints which suggest to me that he may be able to co-exist with another dog in the home at some point, but it will be a VERY long intro process. He is very reactive to all other animals. He is just now neutral with the dogs here at the rescue. It has taken many months to get to this point. Unfamiliar dogs elicit an explosive response. I will not place him with prey or livestock animals in the home. He unfortunately suffered many dog attacks as a puppy, which has led to this reactive stance. It is a work in progress, but he has made great improvements. Rex has come a long way with his people reactivity. He prefers women to men, but there are men he likes. He has had many boundaries crossed again as a young pup, and unfortunately was forced to make poor choices when his needs weren't acknowledged. I'm happy to discuss his bite history with any approved applicants, and do not believe any of the situations reflect on him as a whole. I will not spend time discussing him with tire kickers, so unless I have an application in hand, questions will not be answered. If you are serious about working with a dog like Rex, please fill out the application, and make sure your answers are comprehensive. Rex is a powerhouse, and just starting to tap into his potential. He has plenty of energy, but does settle well with a good routine. He is excellent in his crate, and very clean. He is medium drive, with prey being the strongest. We are working on building good tug, and toy engagement. He loves his toys, but prefers to run away with them. He is learning they are more fun if you engage back with your handler. His food drive is moderate, and could definitely be built further. Rex requires an experienced, working/sport dog owner. He is a project dog, but with the potential to go far. Due to his insecurities he is not a bitework candidate. As his handler engagement builds, I can see him enjoying obedience or rally type activities. We have played around with disc rollers and he enjoys the chase. We have done one scent session at the time of this writing, with Vita K9, and plan to continue. And today, at the time of this writing, he has officially learned to swim, and shows the drive to become a great dock diving dog! He is a dog, that with proper guidance and handling, could enjoy many different activities. I will only place him with someone who is looking to continue to build him up, and expand his world. Rex has proven to be very easy to live with. He loves routine, and patterns quickly. He travels well, and will definitely let you know if anyone wakks too close to the car, lol. He leash walking is improving, but not great. He is starting to offer check ins. He needs work on new environments/activities and surfaces, but gets better and faster at acclimatizing with every outing. His body handling is improving significantly. Initially he was highly suspicious of any touch. He is now good with everything but his feet. He would get very mouthy/crocodile roll etc to avoid foot handling. This is improving with patterning and repetition. He loves to train, so that part makes it easy! He has had 2 successful vet trips for his initial wellness/vaccines/bloodwork, and then follow up boosters. We muzzled as a precaution, but he did very, very well. Understandably nervous/tense, but no attempts at bad choices. We did sedate at his second visit, but only so that I could do a proper, really good nail trim for him. I wanted to get his nails to a good starting place, since his feet are such a point of contention for him. He should not need to be sedated for general exams, and handling. I have seen no resource guarding or similar issues. Due to his bite history, no homes with persons under 18 will be considered. My ideal situation for him at this time, is an adopter that is willing to start working with him, with their trainer, but will take it in baby steps. I want to see a relationship built with him, before he moves out. I am considering him "foster to adopt" for this reason, though it is not quite the usual scenario. He needs a calm, confident handler, that will continue to guide him, and give him the chance to be the best version of him he can be. It is important that a solid relationship is there, before finalizing his adoption. I want to see him succeed, as well as his adopter. If you think you that you are the one for him, please complete an application here: https://form.jotform.com/233466598767073 ________________________________ Adoption through Inugoya includes: - the dog - All vaccinations & required boosters; DA2PPv, Bordetella, Lyme, Leptospirosis, and Rabies - 4DX Blood Test (Heartworm, Lyme Disease, Ehrlichia, Anaplasmosis) - Age appropriate wellness blood screen - Fecal test - Deworming & Flea/Tick/Heartworm prevention - Spay/Neuter - Microchip - Hip xray for all dogs that undergo anesthesia - All medical needs assessed and concluded. Story
Name: Fathom Breed: GSD x Farm Dog Mix DOB/Sex: Dec 22, 2023/FS Known Health Issues: Fathom had her hips xrayed at her spay Nov 2025. She needs a double hip replacement. THIS IS COMPLETELY COVERED WITH HER ADOPTION. Good With: Cats! Dogs! Kids! Fathom needs another dog in the home as she thrives with a well matched canine companion 😊 NO DOG PARKS. Fathom is a very sweet, active young girl, who is eager to find her forever family! Fathom loves the outdoors; hiking, running, and playing in the water! She is happy to go out in all weather, and thrives with regular outdoor adventures. Fathom and her siblings are slower to mature, and soft in temperament. They take time to form bonds, and trust. But once comfortable, they truly shine! Though she has just turned 2, she is much more 8 monthish in mental maturity. She has recently been discovering herself, and is enjoying a new level of confidence. Her drive is starting to come out, and she would benefit from a home that would continue to give her confidence building opportunities. She is full of potential, and with the right guidance, will be a very fun activity dog! At her recent spay, we did a routine hip xray. Unfortunately her hips aren't very good, and a bilateral hip replacement will be her best option to live a long, pain-free life. She is currently very comfortable, so my hope is that we can get her settled into her forever home, before starting her first surgery. This way she has a chance to adjust, build bonds, and be very comfortable with her new family. Otherwise this could potentially significantly delay her finding a family, as it would not be fair to her to move during recovery and rehab. As she is very comfortable at this time, there is no urgency in that sense. But a younger dog has an easier time healing and recovering than an older dog, so the benefit of doing the surgery now would allow her to move forward pain free and with the smoothest recovery. The rescue will 100% be there to support you during the process, and both hip surgeries are completely covered with her adoption. The surgeries will be performed by our wonderful orthopedic surgeon, Dr. John, at Caledon Mountain Veterinary Hospital. Fathom is a dog that very much enjoys the company of other dogs in a safe and structured environment. It helps her open up and feel a lot more comfortable, to the point where she requires another dog in the home to be considered for adoption. She does well with all ages, breeds, and both sexes. Although I always recommend not placing with the same sex close in age. As she is slow to mature, there's always a chance she develops a little less tolerance down the road, but so far she has been very social with proper boundaries and structure in place. Fathom is available to go to a home with children. As she is a soft dog, a calm home, with a lot of rules and boundaries in place is key. A loud, rambunctious home, would not be suitable for her. This is especially important for her upcoming recovery, post surgery. Fathom has the strongest prey-drive of her siblings. With her personality, she very much can still live with cats as long as the appropriate training is put in place. However if the appropriate training is not put in place, she absolutely will want to chase and that prey-drive will kick in. Please do not apply if you're not willing to actually put the training in. This is not a one and done situation. She has genetic instinct that will need to be properly managed. Fathom loves her toys, and is often found with a ball in her mouth! She takes great satisfaction in stuffy destruction, and loves a good nylabone chew. She is very goofy, playful, and makes me laugh all the time! Fathom has been a true joy, and is honestly the absolute sweetest girl. She bonds very hard, and very much wants your approval. The bond of a softer dog is like no other. You are their light, their world, and their everything. If you are ready to be her guiding light, enjoy regular training activities, and will give her continued life skills in order to succeed, build confidence, and enjoy the world, then please reach out. She deserves only the best! A few words from Adventure Team Member Nic who recently took her for a foster vacation: "Fathom is such a sweet girl! I got to hang with her for about two weeks and she was a wonderful houseguest. She started off timid, but every day there was substantial progress. While I wouldn’t let her off leash, we grew quite comfortable with each other over the 2 weeks and she would happily seek attention from me. She’s also a very clean girl- not a single accident! She also loves her crate, it’s her safe space. She is very well crate trained! She truly shines in the presence of other dogs. She loved playing with my dogs and other dogs at my work. She plays well, can take a correction, and is generally very submissive. She would do super well with any pup that wants to play! She’s also very respectful of boundaries, and didn’t bother my senior small breed dog. She was very happy to be wherever we are. She’s neutral in public and enjoyed our long trail walks! She’d love an active family, with a fur sibling to play with, and a comfy bed to lay on :) " If Fathom might be the one missing from your life, please apply here: https://form.jotform.com/233466598767073 **All Adopters are required to attend formal obedience classes upon adoption.** **All Adopters are required to obtain, and maintain pet insurance for their newly adopted companion.** ________________________________ Adoption through Inugoya includes: - the dog - All vaccinations & required boosters; DA2PPv, Bordetella, Lyme, Leptospirosis, and Rabies - 4DX Blood Test (Heartworm, Lyme Disease, Ehrlichia, Anaplasmosis) - Age appropriate wellness blood screen - Fecal test - Deworming & Flea/Tick/Heartworm prevention - Spay/Neuter - Microchip - Hip xray for all dogs that undergo anesthesia - All medical needs assessed and concluded.
