Needs experienced adopter, House-trained, Spayed or Neutered, Shots are up-to-date,
Story
Sidney is a very intelligent fellow, he learns quicky and is anxious to please. He will do well with a job and/or a lot of stimulation, long walks and hikes. He will do well with an experienced dog person. Sidney loves meeting new people. He has done well with large dogs he has met, however he is would not be good with small dogs or cats. Sidney does show some barrier reactivity, however, when the barrier is removed (whether it is a crate, fence or car window) he shows absolutely no issues. Because Sidney likes a lot of activity, he will need a securely fenced yard (must be a physical fence, not an electric or invisible system) He is neutered, fully vaccinated, microchipped and on monthly treatment for flea/ticks and heartworm prevention Sidney is currently located in the Middle TN area but transport is included in the adoption fee for approved adopter If you are interested in Sidney, email cox_ann@bellsouth.net for an application

Agnes is an incredibly sweet girl who loves to show you her stuffies she likes to carry around in her mouth-its adorable!!! She seems good with dogs and shows interest in play but also loves to just be around people. She is fairly new to us at BR so we are still learning about her but so far she has never had an accident in her kennel, eats great, and just seems like a very congenial girl! Agnes does have a decent sized tumor on her front leg we will be having checked out ASAP so she will be coming soon until we can get that removed and biopsied so stay tuned for more info!December 9, 2025, 11:29 am

Story
Ezra is an incredibly sweet boy who loves to snuggle and seems ok with other dogs and doesn't seem to care about cats. He does not like a crate so that won't be a good option for him and he definitely is a snuggler so would love to sleep with you! He was in tact and had terrible teeth when we pulled him from the shelter so we are having him neutered and getting him a dental mid-October but his foster is working on potty training him but that should become MUCH easier when he is neutered and all those hormones leave his little system! He truly is such a good, sweet boy though and will make a great buddy! He does have a stage 1 heart murmur but its not bad enough to even need medication so yay!December 9, 2025, 11:29 am

Story
Waylon is an absolute DREAM of a dog, really just the perfect boy! He does great with kids, does amazing in a home, is housebroken, crate trained, does great in a car, LOVES to be active and play and go on both runs and walks with his fosters, is super smart so easy to train, loves to snuggle and will calmly hang out with you while you work or watch TV, and is just the best boy! He seems really eager to be around other dogs so we don't see why he couldn't have dog buddies to play with! He is 100% joy and will be excited to see you every time you come home...and his fosters are working on trying to temper that pure joy that causes him to jump in happiness, but it always comes from a place of love and light! The struggles that Waylon has are purely medical but we have come to a plateau where with a great regimen of his medications, his diagnosis of Perennial Fistula Disease is easy to manage. And the nice thing is he takes his medications great! He does have to have an ointment on his rear, and does take some other oral meds, but he takes them very well. His condition also does require him to be on a very regimented diet that cannot be strayed from but Bonaparte's Retreat is more than happy to continue paying for his meds and his food because we definitely don't want that to be a deterrent for this perfect boy to find a home. He does require someone who can monitor his poops because they do need to be monitored, but he poops great on a walk which makes it easy to monitor! He also does need to be with a family that can strictly monitor his diet and not allow him to counter surf but he eats his special food great! We really can't speak more highly about Waylon and he would make some active family or single person an amazing BFFAugust 27, 2024, 11:44 am

Story
Tyke came to Bonaparte's because he had a terrible injury in his hind leg where he was shot and needed an amputation. The leg was fractured but there were also bullet fragments trying to push themselves out. Tyke has since had the amputation and healed beautifully and we have discovered what a love this guy is...truly the perfection definition of a gentle giant. He is great with cats, good with little dogs, good with kids and all people. He does seem to have a bit of separation anxiety which can cause him to sometimes have an accident in the house but we are working on it and paper towels are his fave when his foster is gone so those would need to be out of reach-but really with how just perfect this guy is that is an easy fix in a home! Other than that he is house broken and just truly perfection!December 9, 2025, 11:29 am
