Story
💛🐾 Meet Jingles — Ready for His Person 🐾💛 Jingles is a 2.5–3-year-old, 60-pound caramel-and-white all-American shelter dog with a whole lot of love packed into him. A little hound, a little pittie, and a whole lot of heart. He’s affectionate, playful, and athletic — but what really stands out about Jingles is how much he wants to be with people. When he comes out of his kennel, he’s full of excitement, tail wagging and eyes bright, just happy to be spending time with a friend. And once he’s out? He settles nicely and enjoys his walks, soaking up every moment. Jingles is smart and eager to learn (he already knows sit!), loves treats, and would be such a joy for someone who wants a dog they can grow with. He has so much potential, and like so many great dogs, he’s simply waiting for a chance to show it outside the shelter environment. An active home where he can go on adventures, stretch his legs, and then come home to rest and feel safe would mean everything to him. He seems to enjoy other dogs, and meet-and-greets are always encouraged to make sure everyone’s a good fit. ✨ Jingles doesn’t need perfection — he just needs his person. Someone to choose him, to take him home, and to give him the life he’s been waiting for. If you’re ready for a loyal companion and a full heart, Jingles is waiting for you at Hopewell Animal Services. 🐶💛

Story
🐶💛 Meet Kevin — A Big Heart in Need of a Break from the Shelter 💛🐶 Kevin is a 2–3-year-old, 50-pound, tan-and-white All-American good boy with an adorable speckled nose and a heart that just wants somewhere safe to land. Maybe there’s some black mouth cur, maybe some shepherd — what we know for sure is that Kevin is 100% lovable. The shelter is tough on this sensitive guy, but the moment he’s out of the kennel? A totally different dog. Kevin shines outside — curious, athletic, affectionate, and ready to go. He might hesitate at first on walks, but once you pick up the pace, he’s right there with you. Jogging buddy? Adventure partner? Yep. And if you head toward a car… Kevin will politely put his paws up like, “Excuse me, yes, I’d like to leave now.” Honestly, same, Kevin. 😅🚗 This young, athletic boy loves affection and leans in hard for pets — he’s absolutely a snuggle enthusiast once he feels safe. He also loves other dogs and recently had an off-leash play session with a playful female who matched his energy perfectly. The two zoomed, wrestled, and played until they wore each other out — pure joy to watch. He’d make an amazing companion for an active pup (meet and greets always required to ensure the best fit). Kevin has been overlooked far too long, and it’s not because he’s lacking — it’s because shelter life just isn’t where he thrives. What he needs is someone willing to see past the kennel stress and give him the chance he deserves. ✨ Kevin is: • Neutered & fully vetted • Athletic, affectionate, and adventure-ready • A dog-loving dog who plays hard and loves harder • Waiting patiently for someone to say “You’re coming home.” If you’re looking for a loyal sidekick, a jogging partner, and a snuggle buddy who just wants out of the shelter and into your life — Kevin is your guy. Come meet him. He’s ready when you are. 🐾💛

Story
💖 Meet Lola – the lovebug with a little sass and a LOT of heart! At 2–3 years old and about 50 pounds, Lola is the total package — white-and-brindle beauty, house-trained, leash-ready, dog-friendly, affectionate, and full of charm. She’s got personality for days (an 11 out of 10, truly). Lola is thriving in her foster home with two other pups, and she’s proven to be an easy housemate — she rides great in the car, knows her commands, and can be crated if needed. She just needs a little time to warm up to new people, but once you’re in her circle, you’ll have a hilarious, loyal companion who’ll bring endless joy to your days. She’s not a fan of vet visits, but with patience and understanding, Lola will show you she’s worth every bit of extra effort. ✨ Ready to meet your new best friend? Reach out to her foster at briester239@gmail.com or 804-690-5801 to learn more or set up a visit.

Story
💖 Meet Macey — Your Adventure Buddy with the Best Ears in Town 💖 Some dogs just shine the moment you meet them — and Macey is one of those dogs. Macey is a 2-year-old, 45-pound, black-and-white pittie mix who is fully vetted and rocking the absolute best ears you’ve ever seen. She’s a happy, people-loving girl who greets the world with a wagging tail and an open heart. Friendly, gentle, and confident, Macey makes friends wherever she goes — strangers included. On leash, Macey walks beautifully and enjoys getting out and about. She’s playful and fun without being overwhelming, and she’d make an excellent jogging or adventure companion for someone who likes to stay active. Whether it’s neighborhood walks, trail outings, or just soaking up the fresh air, Macey is always ready to go. She’s likely crate- and house-trained, settles nicely, and carries herself with an easygoing charm that makes her a joy to be around. Macey would prefer to be the only pet in the home but trust us, she has more than enough love to give her person. What makes Macey’s story especially bittersweet is that she’s been patiently waiting, doing everything right, yet somehow keeps getting overlooked. She’s stunning, sweet, affectionate, and ready for a fresh start — all she needs is someone to finally choose her. Macey isn’t asking for much. Just a home. A human. And a chance to be loved the way she deserves. Could that be you? 🐾💙 Come meet Macey and see for yourself why everyone who knows her is rooting for her happy ending.

Story
✨ Meet Champ: Big Dog. Soft Heart. Couch-Loving Dreams.✨ A 70-lb bundle of cream-colored, wiry-haired magic with scruffy good looks and gentle-giant energy. Estimated to be 2–3 years old, Champ looks like a delightful mix of maybe Great Pyrenees, maybe Irish Wolfhound, maybe something wonderfully scruffy — and 100% good boy. Champ is very treat motivated (he takes his snacks seriously). He’ll gently accept treats from your hand, place his paws in your lap, and actively seek affection once he feels comfortable. Outside the shelter environment, his sweet and playful personality truly shines. When Champ first arrived, the world felt big and scary — but he’s made amazing progress. He now enjoys walks and continues to work on his leash skills every day. Loud noises can still be a little spooky, so busy city life probably isn’t his dream — a calmer home would be just right. 💛 Champ’s highlights: Sweet, affectionate, and eager to connect Very treat motivated and fun to train Enjoys walks and keeps gaining confidence Likes walking alongside another dog May prefer being the only dog in the home Would thrive with a fenced yard to run and play Strong believer that couches are for snuggling with his person Champ is looking for a patient, loving home where he can continue building confidence and finally relax into being someone’s beloved companion. If you’re searching for a loyal, scruffy sidekick with a gentle soul, Champ might just be your guy. Come meet him at Hopewell Animal Services — he’s ready for his happily ever after. 🤍🐶
