Story
💙 Meet Buffy — The Blue-Coated Beauty Ready to Be Your Ride-or-Die! 💙 (No slaying vampires required.) Buffy is a 1–2 year old, 40-pound, spayed pittie mix with the most stunning blue coat and bright, eager eyes that light up the moment she steps outside her kennel. She gets so excited to head out for her walk — who can blame her? — but once she’s outside, she settles beautifully and becomes a total joy on leash. This smart, affectionate girl is the full package: ✨ Treat motivated (she’ll show off her perfect sit the moment snacks appear!) ✨ Comes when called — because she genuinely wants to be near her people ✨ Playful, loving, and oh-so-smart — a dream dog for someone who loves training and bonding ✨ Adventure ready — she’d make an amazing sidekick for an active adopter who wants a cheerful shadow tagging along for life’s outings Buffy has also shown great doggie manners on leashed walks with other pups (meet & greets required), and she even passed her initial cat test! No real interest in them — she’s far more focused on the humans giving her love. At her core, Buffy is a people-oriented sweetheart who just wants affection, attention, and someone to call her person. She’s the kind of dog who will love you with her whole heart, follow you anywhere, and bring so much fun and joy into your days. If you’re looking for a best friend who’s equal parts cuddly, clever, and ready for adventure… Buffy is SO your girl. 💙🐾 Come meet her and see for yourself — this blue beauty is ready to shine in her forever home.

Story
Meet Jingles — A Little Bounce, A Lot of Love, and So Much Potential ✨ If you’re looking for a dog who greets life (and people) with joy, enthusiasm, and a wagging tail, say hello to Jingles — a 1–2-year-old, 50-pound caramel-and-white “all-American shelter dog” with a heart as big as his smile. Jingles is still new to Hopewell Animal Services, so we’re just beginning to learn who he is — but what we do know is pretty wonderful. This handsome boy loves getting out of his kennel and heading off on walks. He does nicely on leash, enjoys exploring, and absolutely lives for human attention. When you stop to pet him, he leans right in, soaking it up like he’s been waiting all day for that moment. Yes, he can be a little jumpy at first — but only because he’s excited to see you. Once that initial “oh my gosh, hi!” moment passes, he settles quickly and shows off his attentive, sweet side. He already knows how to sit, watches his person closely, and seems eager to learn more. Jingles is the kind of dog who would thrive with training, structure, and someone who enjoys building a bond through working together. 🐶 Dog-Friendly Potential Jingles is alert around other dogs and could potentially do well with a canine companion. As always, meet-and-greets are required to make sure everyone’s a good match — but he shows promise! Jingles feels like a dog just waiting for his chance — a chance to get out of the shelter, to learn, to grow, and to be someone’s best friend. With his affectionate nature, playful spirit, and eagerness to connect, he’s going to make an amazing companion for the right person. If you’re ready for a dog who brings joy, energy, and heart into your life... Jingles might just be the one you’ve been waiting for. 🐾💛

Story
✨ Meet Jasmine: Soft Eyes, Big Heart, and Ready for Home ✨ A stunning, stocky 50-lb black and white bully mix with soulful eyes and a heart that’s ready to bloom. Jasmine is estimated to be 2–4 years old, fully spayed, vetted, and ready to go home — and she’s also a volunteer favorite who has somehow been overlooked for far too long. Shelter life hasn’t been easy for this sweet girl. She’s been a little down lately and sometimes needs a moment to feel brave… but give her a bit of encouragement (✨treats are absolutely her love language✨) and watch her light up. Add a friendly canine buddy, and suddenly walks turn into fun adventures instead of something to be unsure about. 💖 What we love about Jasmine: Calm, quiet, and happy on car rides A total tennis ball enthusiast — she’ll happily retrieve again and again Walks nicely with other dogs Has enjoyed off-leash playtime with a friendly shelter pup Treat-motivated and already knows “sit” Shows every sign of having been a loved pet before Did well in an initial cat test — nose-to-nose, she calmly sniffed the kitten and then went on her way (the cat may have been a little more confident than Jasmine 😉). She was slightly unsure, but gentle and respectful, showing potential to live with feline friends with slow, thoughtful introductions. Jasmine has shown great potential to live with another dog, with proper meet-and-greets to make sure the vibes are just right. As with any dog-and-cat pairing, adopters should plan for slow, patient introductions to ensure everyone feels safe and successful. This sweet girl doesn’t need much — just patience, kindness, snacks, and a home where she can finally exhale and be someone’s beloved companion again. Jasmine is ready. All she’s missing is you. 🖤🤍🐶

Story
💙 Meet Sweetness — A Quiet Soul Waiting for Someone to See Her 💙 Some dogs arrive at the shelter loud and bold. Sweetness arrived softly. Sweetness is a young, 60-pound husky/shepherd mix with the most breathtaking detail of all — one stunning blue eye that seems to look straight into your heart. She’s still new to the shelter, and like many sensitive souls, she’s taking her time learning that the world can be kind. On leash, Sweetness walks gently and calmly, staying right by your side. She’s quiet, curious, and observant — the kind of dog who watches everything before deciding it’s safe. When walking alongside a friendly male dog, she showed polite interest and then peacefully went about her way, perfectly content. And here’s where her story gets even sweeter… ✨ With other dogs around, Sweetness truly begins to bloom. She seems to gain confidence from canine companionship and recently enjoyed a free play date with a laid-back male dog. In that space, something magical happened — Sweetness came out of her shell. Her tail wagged, her body relaxed, and she showed a playful side that felt like a glimpse into the dog she’s meant to be. 🎾 Toys are her secret joy — especially squeaky ones. Offer her a toy with a squeaker and she transforms into a happy, playful girl who clearly loves life. It’s incredible to watch her light up, reminding us that her gentleness doesn’t mean she lacks joy — she just needs the right environment to feel safe enough to show it. She allows gentle affection and leans into trust at her own pace. She doesn’t demand attention — she waits for it. And when you offer kindness, she receives it with soft eyes and quiet gratitude. 🌿 Sweetness Would Thrive With: A calm, patient home Someone who understands that confidence grows with time Gentle routines, quiet walks, and reassurance Possibly a calm, friendly canine companion A person who believes the softest dogs often love the deepest Sweetness isn’t the dog who jumps into your arms — she’s the one who slowly learns you’re safe, and then never forgets it. The kind of companion who bonds quietly, deeply, and forever. She’s waiting for someone special. Someone who sees her not as shy — but as gentle, thoughtful, playful, and beautifully brave. Could that be you? 🐾💙

Lulu is a 1–2-year-old, 40-pound tan-and-white beauty, a perfect “not too big, not too small” size that fits beautifully into so many homes. Hound? Pittie? A little bit of magic? Story
🐶💛 Meet Kevin — A Big Heart in Need of a Break from the Shelter 💛🐶 Kevin is a 2–3-year-old, 50-pound, tan-and-white All-American good boy with an adorable speckled nose and a heart that just wants somewhere safe to land. Maybe there’s some black mouth cur, maybe some shepherd — what we know for sure is that Kevin is 100% lovable. The shelter is tough on this sensitive guy, but the moment he’s out of the kennel? A totally different dog. Kevin shines outside — curious, athletic, affectionate, and ready to go. He might hesitate at first on walks, but once you pick up the pace, he’s right there with you. Jogging buddy? Adventure partner? Yep. And if you head toward a car… Kevin will politely put his paws up like, “Excuse me, yes, I’d like to leave now.” Honestly, same, Kevin. 😅🚗 This young, athletic boy loves affection and leans in hard for pets — he’s absolutely a snuggle enthusiast once he feels safe. He also loves other dogs and recently had an off-leash play session with a playful female who matched his energy perfectly. The two zoomed, wrestled, and played until they wore each other out — pure joy to watch. He’d make an amazing companion for an active pup (meet and greets always required to ensure the best fit). Kevin has been overlooked far too long, and it’s not because he’s lacking — it’s because shelter life just isn’t where he thrives. What he needs is someone willing to see past the kennel stress and give him the chance he deserves. ✨ Kevin is: • Neutered & fully vetted • Athletic, affectionate, and adventure-ready • A dog-loving dog who plays hard and loves harder • Waiting patiently for someone to say “You’re coming home.” If you’re looking for a loyal sidekick, a jogging partner, and a snuggle buddy who just wants out of the shelter and into your life — Kevin is your guy. Come meet him. He’s ready when you are. 🐾💛
