Story
Benz is a sweet boy. He turned 10 in February. We are looking for a loving family that will love him and give him affection and attention. The only reason we are looking to rehome him is because we are moving back to Europe. We don't want to take him with us due to his age and he has DCM. He currently takes 3 medications for this. They are pills that we just put in his food. He has responded very well to his treatment. You would never know that he even has a heart condition. We would need his new family to be able to continue giving him medication. He loves to chew on his bone, go for walks and just lounge around. Please consider making this sweet boy an addition to your family.

Story
Meet Theo, the sweetest 55-pound cuddle buddy you’ll ever meet. He is an American Bully and Basset Hound mix, which gives him the perfect combination of a friendly bully smile and an adorable low-rider build. Theo is five years old, affectionate, loyal, and wonderfully attentive to his people. Theo loves going on walks, car rides, running around off-leash in safe areas, and getting hugs. He is very playful, enjoys being near you, and thrives in a loving home where he gets affection and attention. He’s also a certified foodie—he loves dog cookies, peanut-butter treats, dog ice cream, pup cups, and even a small piece of cheese pizza on rare occasions. Theo does have seasonal allergies and mild food allergies to poultry and beef, so he eats salmon-based dog food (his favorite is Rachael Ray’s salmon formula). He’s fully up-to-date on vaccines and comes with his full medical history. Theo is an easygoing, medium-energy companion who would be a great fit for any person or family.

🛋️ Meet Homer 🐾 If you’re looking for a laid-back best friend who’s happiest just hanging out by your side, Homer may be your perfect match. ❤️ Around 3 years old, neutered, and up to date on his rabies vaccine, Homer has mastered the art of enjoying the simple things in life: short walks, comfy spots to lounge, and quality time with his favorite people. He’s the definition of a couch potato with just the right amount of playful energy mixed in. Homer will happily humor you with a few minutes of playtime before deciding it’s time to get back to relaxing. 😄 Whether you’re working in the yard, sitting on the porch, or spending a quiet evening at home, Homer is content just being near you. 🐶 Calm and easygoing 🛋️ Professional cuddle and lounge expert 💕 Loyal companion who loves being near his people 🚶 Enjoys relaxed walks and quiet time Homer does need to be the only pet in the home, but honestly, he has more than enough love and personality to fill your whole heart all by himself. There’s something incredibly special about this sweet boy. He’s the kind of dog who doesn’t ask for much — just a safe place to relax, someone to love, and a family to finally call his own. Homer has been waiting patiently for his chance at a forever home. Let’s make sure he doesn’t spend another year in the shelter. 💔 Come meet Homer — you just might meet your new best friend.

Story
🐾 Meet Dawg (aka Smoke) 🖤 Dawg is the kind of dog who makes friends everywhere he goes. Estimated to be around 3 years old, this handsome boy is sweet, affectionate, and full of love for everyone he meets. Despite everything he’s been through, Dawg has remained incredibly friendly and trusting. He’s been well-behaved here at the shelter and has quickly become a favorite among staff and volunteers thanks to his easygoing personality and loving nature. 🐶 Friendly and affectionate 💕 Loves people and attention 🐾 Has done well meeting other dogs ✨ Sweet, calm, and well-mannered Dawg seems happiest simply being near his people — whether that’s going for walks, soaking up attention, or just enjoying companionship. He has also done well with other dogs at the shelter, though meet-and-greets are required for any resident pups in the home. We have not yet had the opportunity to test him with cats. This boy deserves a family who will never let him wonder where he belongs again. In return, Dawg promises endless loyalty, love, and a best friend who will always be happy to see you. Come meet Dawg and see why everyone here has fallen in love with him. 🐾❤️

Story
🚨 Meet Zeus! 🚨 (Be sure to check out his hilarious video in the comments — his slow-motion attempt at retrieving a ball had us cracking up 🤣) AKA: Professional Smiler, Part-Time Tennis Ball Hoarder, Full-Time Good Boy ❤️ At 4 years old, Zeus is a giant love bug wrapped in one ridiculously handsome Chesapeake Bay Retriever package. Pictures truly do not do this boy justice — he is absolutely stunning in person. Zeus wakes up every day like it’s the BEST day of his life. He’s always smiling, always excited to see people, and happiest when he’s close to his humans. One of his favorite things to do is stand up on his hind legs to give you a big “hug” so you’ll pet his face. 😭❤️ (Yes, he could use a little work on the jumping… but when you realize he’s basically an oversized teddy bear begging for affection, it’s impossible not to laugh.) Today we took this “water dog” down to the river expecting Olympic-level retrieving skills. Zeus had other plans. 😂 He confidently marched chest-deep into the water and decided that was plenty far enough. If the stick floated any farther? Congratulations to the fish — that stick now belongs to the river because Zeus was absolutely not going after it. 🤣 Now tennis balls in a backyard? THAT is Zeus’s specialty. He could play fetch all day long. The only tiny issue is… he brings the ball back but refuses to actually give it back. 🤦‍♀️😂 So future adopters should definitely keep a few tennis balls handy for trade negotiations. Zeus previously lived in a home with five other dogs, but any current dogs in the home would still need a proper meet-and-greet. He has not been cat tested. Since he has lived in a home before, he is most likely house trained. And yes — he is BIG. Very big. But beneath that large frame is truly the sweetest, gentlest heart. Zeus deserves a family that will laugh at his goofy antics, throw endless tennis balls, accept the occasional surprise “hug,” and love him as much as he already loves everyone he meets. ❤️ Let’s find this amazing boy the forever home he so deeply deserves.
