Story

Sanders was abandoned in a parking lot in Florida about 4 days before we took him in. After searching for an owner, we ultimately brought him home hoping he would be a good fit for our family. In so many ways he is! Loving and usually pretty tolerant. He is protective of his family, and unfortunately he did have a small incident with a delivery driver, so we gave him a more confined environment (ie keeping him on a line) which he has done well with. What we can’t modify is our lively home - three young boys mean lots of sudden noises and movement, which he mostly tolerates but has been unpredictably reactive. He would do much better in a bit calmer, adult only environment. We have some farm animals (goats, pigs) which he is not friends with but spends many hours staring at from the window. We don’t know how he would be with any other pets. We are hoping to find him a home that will love him like we do, but without the environmental challenges he encounters with us.

My name is Nico. I am 8 years old and am looking for a family to love me. I spend most of my day cuddled up in my bed waiting for my people to come home. I get excited when people come to the house and want everyone to know it so I bark to tell them. I calm down quickly tho and go back to laying down as soon as I alert everybody. I love to cuddle with my brother Cooper who is also looking to be adopted. It would be fantastic if we could go together but I’m also ready to be without him if I have to be. I am house trained but I have been wearing a belly band recently because I occasionally have pee accidents when I get excited. I love to cuddle, run around in the house, and make new friends. Hi I’m Cooper. I am 14 years old but don’t let my age fool you. I am still active and full of love. I love to cuddle and hang out with my people in between naps. I have a Maltipoo brother that is also up for adoption (Nico). While I would love to stay with him, I’m adaptable and would do ok without him too. I like children and other animals. I am crate trained. I am potty trained (although my mom keeps my in a belly band just in case because I’m getting older). I would love to meet you!
