**Bodhi is a courtesy post and is not located at or affiliated with Paws Crossed Animal Rescue  At 1 y/o and 80 lbs, Bodhi is a beautiful, sweet and noble creature in need of a suburban or rural home. He's super-smart, responsive to training (already has a reliable recall, leave-it, drop, sit, stay and down), good on leash, and generally calm around the house. He enjoys his crate, sleeps through the night, and is 100% house-trained. He loves playing with other dogs and thrives at doggie day care. A home with other big dogs and room to play would probably be great for him (it's just the two of us in our NYC home). His main issue, and it's the reason I'm rehoming him, is that he is occasionally reactive and aggressive towards other dogs and people. He doesn't go berserk and can be calmed very quickly. But we live in downtown Manhattan where there are just too many people on the streets and too much unpredictability for him to be his best self. Crate, leash, harness and food will be provided. If you are interested in adopting Bodhi, please contact the owner at steverabinowitz@gmail.com The Shelter software system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable so for most of our dogs we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix.  We encourage you to select your new companion by considering each dog's individual personality and pet qualities instead of relying on a breed label that is only a guess.November 12, 2025, 12:29 am

Story
Jumping Jack Junior is a dog with a huge smile and the most handsome good looks ever.   He is a Golden/Great Pyr mix that is only one year old and weighs 61 pounds.  We are guessing his breed but he seems more Golden in size and then more Great Pyr in appearance.  This boy is joyous and couldn't be more of a free spirit and  with an inviting personality to come and play with him and let him love your family.  Junior found himself in a Texas shelter because his owner was evicted from her home.  The two small 15 pound dogs living there with Junior, also lost their home and are in the shelter.  Junior has been a great big brother to these small dogs and he is most certainly now willing and able to be a friend to other small dogs and animals if needed.  He has no aggression in his soul and he is NOT reactive to any new encounters with other dogs when on a leash.  He is passive and fun loving and adores meeting new people to become his friend.  He is leash trained and housebroken and just one of those gorgeous A+++ dogs that you really need to consider taking home if you like the bigger than life luxurious dogs.  He is a Jumping Jack Prince of a dog.... Junior promises to be one of your best decision when adopting a dog to be by your side for the next 15 years.  If you are interested please don't hesitate and contact Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.com   We can adopt him to Tennessee residents and also can transport him to northeastern families.  Just mention when you live when inquiring and asking for an application.    PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comMay 19, 2025, 1:16 pm

Story
Charlie is a handsome 55 pound, 8 month old Great Pyrenees/Shepherd mix who is looking for a forever home. This gorgeous boy truly loves his people, including children, and thoroughly enjoys playing with his toys. He would make a fantastic addition to a loving home. Charlie is not only charming but also very sweet! He is housetrained, crate trained, and knows basic commands. While he is an absolute sweetheart with people he knows, he can be a bit wary of strangers initially. Once he gets to know someone, his affectionate nature truly shines through. Charlie also enjoys being outside and would thrive in a home located in a quieter neighborhood where he can comfortably enjoy his outdoor time. Thank you so much for your interest in adopting a dog from A New Chance Animal Rescue (https://anewchancear.org). We are a 501c3, tax deductible organization. ANCAR is a foster-based rescue, and we adopt within a 90 mile radius of Bedford Hills, NY. You will find the adoption application here: (https://anewchancear.org/adopt/adoption-application/). All fields on the application must be completed. Please read about the adoption process (https://www.anewchancear.org/adopt/our-adoption-process/) so you'll know what to expect when you submit. Our dogs are in foster care and we do NOT have a shelter or boarding facility. AN APPLICATION MUST BE COMPLETED IN FULL AND APPROVED BEFORE A DOG CAN BE MET. This is a firm policy. Our busy volunteers are not able to respond to questions about the dog or dog meeting requests in the absence of an application. We know these dogs very well because they are in foster care. Please read the profiles of the dog(s) you are interested in prior to submitting an application. If there are specific requirements stated (ie: Fenced Yard or Canine Friend Required) these are included because they are vital to the happiness, health, safety and adoption success of that dog. We are only able to save as many dogs as we have foster homes (https://www.anewchancear.org/foster/faqs/) and resources for. We provide medical care including vaccinations, testing, deworming, spaying/neutering and microchipping before transporting our dogs. We provide all supplies, preventatives and any follow up vet care necessary while they are in foster care. These costs are high and the number of lives we can save is entirely dependent upon donations from people like you. We do not receive funding from private foundations or government sources. If you can find room in your heart to help us, with any amount, we are truly grateful (https://www.anewchancear.org/help/donate/). We are a 501c3 organization, so all donations are tax-deductible. It is only through the kindness of supporters like you that we are 'changing lives...one tail at a time' by providing our dogs with 'A New Chance.' (https://anewchancear.org) Thanks so much.

Story
Flint is a 86 pound, 15 month old Great Pyrenees/Golden Retriever mix. This handsome boy is deliciously soft and strikingly handsome. True to his Pyr heritage, he is initially a bit wary of strangers and will bark a little when first meeting new people, so he would do best in a quieter home. Flint ADORES his people and is a delicious snuggler! His favorite is a cuddle on the couch in the evening, and he does think he's a lap dog! Flint is obsessed with the other dogs in his foster home and would love a canine sibling in his new home. He follows the other dogs in his foster home around and likes to climb on top of them for a cuddle or a wrestle. He is friendly with every dog he meets and enjoys making new friends. Flint enjoys playing with his toys and can often be found carrying a favorite around with his head held high and whole body wiggling. He is a laid back guy and adores his young, human foster sister and all children he has met. Flint is amazingly gentle with children and small animals and is good with goats, horses, and donkeys too. Flint likes to be outside and would love a home with a fenced yard. His foster family has fostered many dogs, and they truly cannot express enough how amazing this boy is! He is crate trained, housetrained, walks well on leash, comes when called, and knows "sit". Flint is food motivated and very trainable. It would truly be hard to find a sweeter or more handsome boy than Flint! He is one of a kind!! Moving to a new home will be a transition for him, so he is looking for a loving and patient family that understands this. In return, once he settles in, they will truly have a best friend for life! Flint does have elbow dysplasia and needs to stay on joint supplements, but this does not slow him down, and he still enjoys his playtime. Story
Hi there! I’m Evelyn — a 5-month-old, 35-pound Great Pyrenees mix with the softest fur and a heart to match. Life started out a little rough for me as a stray, but you’d never know it from how much I love people. I greet every new face with a wag and a hopeful look, wondering if maybe this is the one who’ll take me home for good. I’m gentle, with a sweetness that seems to make everyone smile. I’m curious about everything and I get along beautifully with canine friends. More than anything, I’m looking for a home where I can feel safe and loved for good. If you’re looking for a loyal companion with a gentle soul and a curious heart, I think we’d make a perfect match.
