Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Hi, my name is Bannon.  I was born somewhere around Christmas in 2020, am a Collie/Shepherd mix, and weigh about 55lbs. Another interesting fact about me is I weaned 11 puppies!   I am working on walking on a leash, but my preference is a large fenced back yard. I need exercise, so please plan to take me on long walks/runs or a good playtime in the backyard a couple times a day.     I have a few things that I am working on. One is I'm mouthy with people. I'm not trying to bite you, but my excitement overtakes me sometimes. My foster family is working on me getting a stuffie when I start to go over threshold. So, having a lot of toys around for me is important to keep on this training. I also am jumpy. So, probably no small kiddos for me. Both behaviors are common in younger dogs and tend to subside with constant training .   I am crate trained when my people are home so if I truly need a break, that is a safe place for me to rest. When you are away, I am not a huge fan of the crate but have not ever broken out of it. I do bark a little in the crate, especially when I know you are home.     The biggest consideration a potential adopter for me should have is my boundless energy. Being a running partner would be a dream come true for me. Otherwise, a fenced in yard where I can endlessly play fetch would be wonderful. I'm also very smart, so if you're looking for a dog to impressively train or teach a job to, I'm your gal!   One other thing to note is that I'm selective with my dog friends. It is probably best that I am an only dog in the home due to this. I also have a bit of a prey drive so no cats or small critters in my house as well. Do you have a home that can give me all the attention I need!? If so, please apply! NOTE: Bannon tested positive for Lymes Disease. This is a tick borne illness that is relatively common in dogs who live in states where ticks are more prevalent. Most dogs live their whole lives with no issues or flare ups caused by these diseases. It is important that Bannon's adopters know what symptoms to watch for when a flare-up occurs so she can be put on meds to keep it at bay. The treatment for this is a 30 day course of Doxycycline, a relatively inexpensive antibiotic. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.Interested in adopting this lovable animal? Please go to our website www.wagsmn.org and fill out an Adoption Application.  Once the application is processed, a Wags representative will contact you, answer any questions you may have, and set up a time/location for a meet and greet!  A home visit is required prior to adoption.  Thank you for choosing to adopt! Breed and temperament determination:  Wags & Whiskers Animal Rescue attempts to determine breed and temperament using a combination of looks, information provided to us at intake, and our experience with the animal while in our Rescue.  We do not guarantee this determination. Story
Location: Sauk Rapids, MN Cristina came into rescue with her siblings and mom when they were a few weeks old. They were found underneath a car on a reservation. Mama Meredith is a Husky/Anatolian shepherd mix at about 60 pounds. We are unsure of who dad is as they are all a little different :) They are fostered with kids and other dogs and have been well socialized. They are typical puppies that require patience and training to be successful. ----- The best way to show interest in an animal is to submit an adoption application by visiting our website (www.rescuenetworkmn.org). Adoption fee includes spay/neuter, all age-appropriate vaccinations (Distemper, Rabies, and Bordetella), heartworm and flea/tick preventatives, heartworm test (dogs), FIV/FeLV test (cats), dewormed, and microchip implant (including registration). Rescue Network is strictly foster based which means all adoptable animals are in a home and there cannot be a meet until an application is submitted and approved. We have no way of knowing the breeds in the animals. All breeds listed are best guess.

Story
Adoption Fee: $650, plus taxes Location: Foster Home Freckles is an adorably wickedly smart puppy at a young 4 months-old. She is already potty trained at such a young age to put it into perspective. As long as you keep on eye on her for when she communicates she has to go outside (I.e she goes to our back door and sits and/or looks at us). She tries her hardest to keep her crate clean, but her bladder is so small that she can't hold it much longer than 5 hours. She only wakes up once a night to go outside. Otherwise she sleeps peacefully and quietly in a crate with a blanket covering it. But seriously, do you see those freckles!! So darn cute! It's a guess on her mixed breed, could be golden retriever mix, or lab mix, or Australian shepherd mix. We are guessing she may be a golden retriever mix based on her physical appearances, mannerisms, and intelligence. She is super snuggly, adorably pounces and plays with superior manners. Freckles gets along with dogs, cats, and loves kids! She is confident in herself and appropriately communicates to dogs when they're overwhelming her. Out of all of my foster puppies throughout the years she is the easiest and smartest by far! She will fit in great with any family! Freckles has been spayed, brought up to date on her puppy vaccinations, and has a microchip. If the adorable little freckles are calling out to you, please fill out an application to meet Freckles today! She could be the perfect fit for your family.

Story
I am Kiara. I am from Arkansas From the foster: Kiara is a very sweet and loving puppy. She likes to interact with people and other dogs and would do very well in a house with kids and dog friends. Kiara is also very good at entertaining herself with toys and loves to sit next to you when resting. When she accidentally grabs something that is not a toy, she is easily redirected with a toy as she just wants to have fun. You can see she wants to learn and is very smart. She goes to the bathroom in the same spot outside and will make no accidents when let out enough. She even quietly asks to go out by walking to the door and hanging around it. Kiara loves a walk to quench her curiosity. She is engaging, adorable and has a great personality.

Story
Cameron is an 8 yr old male border collie/retriever mix that came into our program a few months ago. His owner had died, and no other family members were able to take him in – so Cameron lived outside for 2 months on a tieout, and a kind neighbor fed him until a rescue could be found. When Cameron first came, he did not want to come in the house and he was leery of the cat. He now gladly comes in the house, but always checks to see where the cat is. Cameron gets along well with the resident dog and the two older dogs that visited. The dogs like to be in the front yard where they can watch people and dogs walk by. Cameron would enjoy the companionship of another mature medium-size dog. Cameron and the cat usually ignore each other. Any children in the home should be at least 12 yr old - younger kids might play too rough with him, and toddlers might climb on him. Cameron has been invited up on the couch and bed - he has only been on the bed two times – just to check it out - he seems to prefer sleeping on the hard wood floor where it is cooler or on a throw rug. He has also only been on the couch twice, so if you are looking for a dog that doesn’t go up on the furniture, Cameron could be your match. He is good meeting new people, and likes attention. He got out of the yard once when the gate was not securely closed. He went for a brisk walk down the block, eventually going into the fenced play ground area of the neighborhood school. When he saw the leash in his foster’s hand, he gladly came and was walked home. He had ignored any calling of his name, probably because he hadn’t learned his new name yet. The dogs are in and out of the house many times during the day as the yard is fenced in and safe for them. When Cameron is asked if he wants to go “outside” he sort of excitedly barks and wags his tail and heads for the door (otherwise he is a relatively quiet dog) and he does ask to go out by coming to you and whimpering. He rides in the car nicely (needs an assist to get in), although it is probably a new experience for him. Cameron was very aware of the Fourth of July fireworks sounds, but didn’t seem to be overly upset or nervous. He was very happy to be inside with the other animals. Cameron has one unique habit. He is fascinated with shadows and reflections of shiny things. It could be that he had been tied up most of his life, so that was one thing he used to amuse himself. He has spent a fair amount of his life on a tie-out, so now we would like him to have a fenced yard to move around in. Cameron is neutered and vaccinated. In March of this year he had routine blood chemistries done that were clinically normal, and in that same month had a dental cleaning with one extraction. In May , he had a lump on his left back foot removed - pathology wasn't cancer - it was a bunch of hair, skin, & other miscellaneous tissue they couldn't really identify (this is all healed up). His microchip is registered to Second Chance. He has some muscular atrophy over the left hip area- likely osteoarthritis, and is on fish oil and glucosamine supplements (and should continue on these). Also, he should not gain any weight – he weighs 52#, which the vet says is about the maximum weight for him. Arthritic hips make it difficult for him to negotiate the steps – he just doesn’t have the strength in his back end – so he needs a single level home with only 1 or 2 entry steps. He can’t jump up on furniture, or into the car. If there is another dog in the home, it should not rough-house or jump on him to play. Low impact exercise – such as walking or swimming, is encouraged. His adoption fee is $225. Call 651-771-5662 if you would like to meet Cameron. He is a gentle, mellow, well behaved dog.
