Story
Gunner is a male black and tan hound mix, around 4 years old, and weighs around 50 pounds. Gunner was rescued from a rural small-town dog pound. Gunner is a good boy. He is crate-trained and goes into his crate when told. He obeys and comes when called. He rides well in a vehicle, sits for treats, and walks on a leash. He is good about baths. He is affectionate and loves human attention and petting. He loves toys, treats, and playing with other dogs. It is very hot here in Texas, and Gunner prefers to be inside and snoozing on the couch in the air conditioning. During the heat of the day, he will go out to potty and run, and wrestle with his friends for a short time, but then he is ready to come back inside to cool off. Being a hound, Gunner exhibits some typical hound behaviors. He goes ballistic over squirrels in the trees. He barks at people walking down the street and at other dogs and cats he sees in the neighborhood. He will counter-surf with his partners in crime. And if I forget to secure the cabinet with the baby lock, he and the other dogs will open it and raid the garbage. Gunner is a typical goofy and happy hound. Gunner is neutered, tattooed, fully vaccinated (DAPPvL2, Bordatella, rabies), and microchipped. He has been treated for heartworms. He is now heartworm-negative and receives monthly heartworm and flea prevention. Gunner is available for adoption to approved applicants. He is located in Texas, but can be transported after he is adopted. His adoption fee includes the cost of ground transport by a reputable and trusted transport company to El Dorado or Topeka, KS, or Pleasant Valley. MO. Story
Hello! I am Nita and I am searching for an active family to call my own. I am house trained and kennel trained. I really enjoy pleasing my people and am treat motivated! I am also smart and pick up on things easily. I do like children and most dogs. However I would probably do best in a home without other dogs or with a fairly low energy dog. Higher energy dogs and myself might be better not to live in the same space. If you are a family ready for an active girl, please fill out an application at https://savingdeathrowdogs.rescuegroups.org/info/adoptionVisit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 3, 2024, 6:32 pm

Story
Alfred is a sweet chunky boy who is ready for his forever family. He was called spicy and definitely can be. But once you earn his trust he’s all kisses. What a smart guy he is too. He has a heeler energy, loves toys and brings them back playing fetch every time. He is working on the leash, and prefers a yard for now. But no doubt he could learn to love walks and adventures. He has had a few accidents, but is almost potty trained. Goes right into his kennel when asked, and potty when let out. He’s a super fun smart quirky love bug. If interested in meeting this little boy, submit an application at https://savingdeathrowdogs.rescuegroups.org/info/adoptionVisit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.July 7, 2025, 1:11 pm

Story
https://savingdeathrowdogs.rescuegroups.org/info/adoption Meet Mortimer — but you can call me Morty     Hi, I’m Morty. I’m about 10 years old, and while I may be a senior, I’ve still got a big heart and a big bark. My story’s a little rough—I don’t know what I did wrong, but my family left me behind in an empty house. It was scary and lonely until the landlord found me and gave me a second chance.   I wasn’t taken care of very well before. At my vet visit, they said the hair on my bottom and back legs is missing and the skin is calloused. I guess that happened because I was left in a very small space and couldn’t move around much. But now? I get to stretch out on a soft bed every night, and let me tell you—it’s heaven.   I live with other dogs and cats now, and I get along with everyone just fine. I’m a pretty chill guy. I mostly nap during the day, but when it’s time to head out to the backyard, I still enjoy a little romp with the other doggos. I may not be as spry as I once was, but I’ve still got some pep in my step.   When they found me, I was a bit stinky—turns out I have a skin condition that makes me itchy. But no worries! With a special shampoo and some meds, I’m feeling much better and way less itchy.   Oh, and one more thing: I may be mellow, but I’ve got a mighty bark. I’ll always let you know if someone’s getting too close to the house or pulling into the driveway. Just doing my part to keep you safe.   &#226&#156&#168 Senior sweetheart with a gentle soul &#226&#156&#168 Gets along great with dogs and cats &#226&#156&#168 Loves naps, soft beds, and backyard strolls &#226&#156&#168 On a simple skincare routine that keeps me comfy &#226&#156&#168 Loyal and protective with a big bark and a bigger heart   If you’re looking for a calm, loving companion who’s been through a lot but still has so much love to give, I’d love to meet you.    Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 3, 2025, 7:27 am

Story
Hi, I’m Tito! I’m a dog with a big personality — full of energy, charm, and wiggles! When I meet new people or pups, I don’t just wag my tail — my whole body wiggles with joy! I love playing with all the dogs in my foster home (and any I meet on walks, too). My foster mom says I’m “one of a kind,” and I have to agree! I might be a little chatty sometimes, but that’s just my way of letting you know what’s on my mind. If you’re looking for a fun, loving companion who brings smiles everywhere he goes, I’m your guy! Story
Hi I’m Aphrodite! I love to play! Either with my sisters, or other dogs, or if no one’s around I’ll play by myself. I’m a little more independent than my siblings but I do like a good snuggle if you’re available! My sisters and I must’ve had a scary start before we got to our foster momma so I can be a little jumpy at loud noises and sudden movements. But I’m getting braver all the time and if you continue to show me love and safety, I’ll blossom into the bestest pup!
