Story
Our son andopted Adonis from a shelter in December of 2024. His circumstances changed and he can’t keep him. He has been with us almost a year. He does not get along with our female so we have to keep them separated. He gets along fine with our male and another male he is around frequently. Adonis gets along with children. He is very affectionate. He loves to go on walks and doesn’t pull. He gets excited when we meet other people but settles down quickly. He hasn’t been in a cage but does fine at night without one (he is housebroken). He loves rides in the car as well.

Story
Janine is an energetic and athletic Australian Cattle Dog who will be 4 in March. She’s full of life, loves to play fetch, and enjoys swimming whenever she can. Janine is incredibly loyal and obedient, thriving on structure and human companionship. She’s potty and crate trained, healthy, and has no illnesses or medical issues. Janine would do best in a home with adults only, with no children or other pets. While she’s wonderful with adults and loves to cuddle, she has shown aggression towards other animals and young children, so a calm, pet-free environment is ideal. She forms strong bonds with her people and will be a devoted, affectionate companion for the right family. Janine is truly a loving, high-spirited dog who deserves a home that matches her energy and loyalty. We hope to find someone who can give her the attention, exercise, and love she thrives on.

Size
(when grown) Med. 26-60 lbs (12-27 kg)
Details
Good with kids, Good with dogs, House-trained, Spayed or Neutered, Shots are up-to-date,
Story
Callie is a sweet, mellow girl looking for a loving home with space to roam. She thrives best in a home with a large, secure yard—she can easily clear a 4-foot fence and loves to explore, so taller fencing is a must. She’s an outdoor enthusiast at heart:    •   Loves to swim    •   Can’t resist chasing anything that flies 🐦🦋    •   Enjoys being active but also has a calm, relaxed side At home, Callie is:    •   Pretty mellow and easygoing    •   Crate-trained and sleeps peacefully in her crate at night    •   A strong chewer who needs indestructible chew toys Callie has completed professional training, but in a busy household with multiple dogs she struggles to stay focused and ends up losing progress.. She would do best in a very structured, low-distraction environment. We want Callie to have the space, attention, and environment she needs to truly thrive. She has so much affection to give and and will be an amazing companion in the right home.

Story
Tajh has been a wonderful dog for my family for many years. Recently, we have had some issues with him growling at my child. I can’t have that in my home and unfortunately, it is time to rehome him. He does not like to be touched on the butt. And he does need dental work. He likes having a yard.

I’m Hope, a beautiful chocolate-brown terrier mix with a fabulous ear-to-ear smile – especially if I have a ball to play with!I came to the Humane Society of York County from York County Animal Services, where I arrived emaciated and in urgently poor condition. With love and care from the HSYC team, I’m a healthy, playful girl now. I was adopted and returned, and have now spent much of my adult life at the shelter. I’m long overdue to find my forever home! My estimated birth date is September 2017, and I'm about 70 pounds.I’m a favorite of the HSYC staff and volunteers, and I love when they take me on field trips for shopping or a good hike. I’m a terrific car rider, and I’m always grateful to grab a burger for lunch while we’re out and about!I dearly love my walks and hope I can find an active forever family that enjoys getting out with me. I’m a medium-size, strong girl and need a dog-savvy home where I’m the only pet. I love to play with toys and cuddle with my people. If you’re looking for a loving, beautiful one-and-only, come meet me!If you wish to meet me, please call the Humane Society of York County at (803)-802-0902 to schedule an appointment. Please refer to our website for adoption requirements: https://humanesocietyofyorkcounty.org/adopt/adoption-process.htmlThank you for your support.
