Story
Meet Allie – Your Next Best Friend! Hi there! My name is Allie, and I’m a 7-year-old sweetheart with the heart of a puppy and the soul of a snuggler. Don’t let my age fool you – I’ve still got plenty of pep in my step, and I absolutely love going on long walks, sniffing out new adventures, and discovering the world one curious sniff at a time! I’m a gentle and affectionate girl who’s always up for playtime – toss me a squeaky toy, and you’ll see my eyes light up with joy. But what I really adore the most? Cuddles. Yep, I’m a world-class couch companion. Whether it's a chilly night or a lazy Sunday, you can count on me to be your little spoon (or big spoon – I’m not picky!). I’m fiercely loyal and will be your shadow, your confidante, and your biggest cheerleader. I may be unsure around other dogs at first, but with a little patience and love, I know I’ll make furry friends too. I’m not just looking for a house – I’m searching for a home filled with love, cozy corners, and people who will cherish me for the amazing girl I am. If you’re looking for a loyal companion who will stick by your side, keep you warm, and bring a whole lot of love into your life, I’m your girl. Let’s make forever happen! Allie is located in Houston, Texas. Apply to adopt me at: houstonk911rescue.org/adopt

Story
Confiscated by Animal Control after being found in a garage with five other dogs. His hold at our city shelter was 2 weeks to give owners a chance to reclaim him but thank goodness they didn’t. He was severely underweight and has spent the last few weeks fattening up! Despite being skin & bones, he’s been a sweetheart since day 1. Intentionally named, Sherlock explores everything with his nose and is quick to figure things out including where the food is and how to use the doggy door. Understandably, his favorite place to be is in the kitchen where he hopes to find food left unattended on the counter. He is rather sensitive about sharing so should other dogs be in the house, it’s best to feed completely separately. He is a bit of a busy bee in the house, always scanning for something to see or do. However, Sherlock does enjoys chilling with his humans, especially after an outdoor adventure. He is very dog friendly and would likely wear out even faster if his foster brother was more playful. He will occasionally pick up a toy and toss it haphazardly, entertaining himself and he enjoys a leisurely neighborhood walk every so often. It’s very much in his nature to let you know if he spots a squirrel or outdoor cat. Then he will gladly relax on the couch afterwards or seek pets from his people. He loves people, including meeting strangers while out and about. He’s a “leaner” if you know what I mean. He absolutely does have quite the hound howl which he uses for a few minutes initially in his crate before settling in. Sherlock is ready to solve the biggest mystery of all—finding his forever home! He is UTD on vaccines, kept on flea/tick/heartworm prevention, neutered & microchipped. His adoption fee is $350. THIS IS AN OUT OF STATE PET THAT CAN BE TRANSPORTED TO HUNTERSVILLE NC. Hi, I’m Bonita! I’m a 2-year-old girl with a gentle, loving heart and a very calm, well-mannered personality. I was found near a busy intersection and brought to safety, where I gave birth to my puppies and took wonderful care of them. After nursing them, we were surrendered to the shelter, and now it’s my turn to find a family of my own. I’m great with other dogs, walk beautifully on a leash, and truly enjoy being around people. I have a nurturing, steady nature that makes me an easy companion and a joy to spend time with. I am currently a part of the Direct to Adopt Program in Austin TX. If have a committed adopter or foster, I can be transported to The Shelter Pet Adoption Center inside Petco located in Huntersville, NC (10017 Biddick Lane, Huntersville, NC 28078) on February 12th, 2026.
