Story
Meet Tony – Your Future Best Friend Tony is a one-year-old German Shepherd and Pitbull mix who is looking for his forever home. Tony is a true “dog’s dog” – he gets along wonderfully with other dogs of all sizes. He’s playful, friendly, and even submissive with his canine companions. He would do best in a home with a confident resident dog who can help him settle in and build confidence. Although he can be shy around new people at first, Tony is never aggressive. He just needs a little time to feel comfortable and safe. With patience and gentle encouragement, his sweet and loyal personality shines through. Tony is fully crate and potty trained and has excellent house manners. He walks calmly on a leash and is happy to go at your pace, whether fast or slow. If you’re looking for a kind-hearted, playful, and loyal companion, Tony might be the perfect fit for your family. Interested in Adopting Tony? Story
Hello there! This is Joe, he is looking for a loving family that will give him all the love and snuggles. He loves to get as much attention as you will give him. We are gone most of the day and we have found that Joe does not do to well with that. He does not like to be in a kennel and gets anxious when you are not at home. Due to our schedules we feel Joe needs to be with a family who will be home more and will not cause him so much anxiety. He loves to be outside, great with other dogs and kids. He is a very laid back dog, enjoys sleeping in the sun and getting all the scratches he can. Some things to note about Joe, he is not fond of riding in the car for long, he is a bit of a drooler. Also as mentioned before he does not like the kennel, at all. If you are looking for a companion to hang out with you that requires little maintenance, then Joe is your guy. Please feel free to message with questions.

Story
Meet Lemon — Our Longest Resident Still Waiting for Her Forever Home Lemon came into rescue on October 28, 2024. Just a few weeks later, on November 14, she gave birth to five beautiful puppies. After being a devoted and nurturing mama, Lemon watched each of her pups go off to loving homes. Now, it’s finally her turn to be the center of someone’s world. From the start, Lemon has been naturally reserved around people, always more comfortable in the company of other dogs. To support her continued growth, we recently moved her to a new foster home—and the change has made a big difference. Since the transition, Lemon has started to come out of her shell. She’s building confidence, learned to walk on a leash and is beginning to seek out human affection—on her own terms. These days, she’ll even curl up for a cozy cuddle on the couch when another dog is present! Lemon is looking for a dedicated adopter who can offer her a consistent environment with the patience and structure she needs to continue her progress. A regular routine and ongoing management while she’s outside will be important as she adjusts. Most importantly, Lemon must have another confident dog in the home. She absolutely thrives in the presence of other dogs—of any age or size. They are essential to her sense of security. Lemon’s ready for her next chapter—and she truly deserves it. Story
Kenmar – 2-Year-Old Male | Collie Mix | ~45 lbs Meet Kenmar, a gentle and affectionate Collie mix with a heart as big as his fluffy tail! At around 45 lbs and 2 years old, Kenmar spent over two months waiting patiently at our local shelter — and we still can’t understand why. Now thriving in his foster home, Kenmar has shown us just how special he is. He loves other dogs, gets along well with cats, and is sweet and respectful with children. Submissive and friendly, he’s a wonderful playmate. While Kenmar is lower maintenance and enjoys lounging on the couch, he still has some playful, puppy-like energy and is working on polishing his manners — especially when it comes to jumping up to say hello. He’s learning quickly and eager to please! Kenmar is doing great with potty training and house manners, and although he can be a little unsure in busy public places, he’s never reactive — just a bit shy. He’s also getting more comfortable on a leash and with each new experience. Easygoing and full of heart, Kenmar is ready to find a forever family who will give him the love and security he deserves. If you’re looking for a loyal companion who blends playfulness with respect. Kenmar might be your perfect fit.

Story
Hi, my name is Claire and I am a senior Border Collie. I used to live on a farm with other dogs and animals but my owner passed away. I am now in foster care with S.A.F.E. Animal Haven. I met my BFF here at my foster home and would really like a forever home for the 2 of us! My BFF is Pointer and he is on this website too! I am housebroken, leash trained and generally a good girl. I like to do my own thing and I enjoy playing with Pointer. If you have room for 2, please consider giving Pointer and myself a forever home. You can find an application at safeanimalhaven.org. Pointer is the little one in the picture with me - he has spots.November 5, 2024, 12:12 am

Story
Thor is a rescue dog from Texas. He has a number of issues that make it difficult for us as an older couple to manage him . He is extremely well behaved inside the home but hyper reactive outside. He does not like riding in cars and absolutely detests rain. Thor is an extremely intelligent dog who apparently had a very rough childhood in Texas. He is very very strong and can be willful at times. He walks well on the leash without pulling unless other animals are nearby. As I said earlier he reacts to literally everything when outdoors. No indoor issues at all. Likes his toys and playing , never has chewed anything up. Not food centric although he enjoys cheese in particular.
