Story
Hi, my name is Claire and I am a senior Border Collie. I used to live on a farm with other dogs and animals but my owner passed away. I am now in foster care with S.A.F.E. Animal Haven. I met my BFF here at my foster home and would really like a forever home for the 2 of us! My BFF is Pointer and he is on this website too! I am housebroken, leash trained and generally a good girl. I like to do my own thing and I enjoy playing with Pointer. If you have room for 2, please consider giving Pointer and myself a forever home. You can find an application at safeanimalhaven.org. Pointer is the little one in the picture with me - he has spots.November 5, 2024, 12:12 am

Story
This is Cooper, he is a very sweet and loving dog. He is a rescue that we adopted 7 years ago. He had some quirks as any rescue does. He doesn’t like to be in a crate or closed room, really doesn’t like water, and will go bonkers during a thunderstorm. While he has been a great dog, we have also seen another side of him that makes us nervous. Enough to be looking at rehoming him. He has attacked our other dog on multiple occasions, usually over food or toys. This has been kept at bay by being very cautious. However with our two year old son being more excited to play with cooper. We don’t feel that our son is safe around cooper, since we can’t predict what might annoy him enough to bite. Cooper needs a home with no other pets and no children. Please reach out with questions. This was a really hard decision but we feel that is best for the safety of our son.

Story
Bolt My name is Bolt named after Usain Bolt. You guessed it I am fast just like the Olympic sprinter. It is amazing I am so fast because I have an injured pelvis. Because of this injury I have had nerve damage and lost feeling in my back end. This means I cannot pee and poop like a normal dog. My foster family and vet are working with me to see if there is some things we can try. Currently we are trying out some medications to see if we can get me to have control of my functions. We are not sure if they will work but we want to try. I am such a cute boy and very loving. I get along with the other dogs in the home. I think I am in charge of the much bigger dogs because my whole six pounds are filled with determination. I am still a puppy but have gotten over a lot of puppy behavior like chewing and biting. I weigh almost 7 lbs and need to put more weight on. I am crate trained. Currently I wear a diaper most of the time. I do not love it but put up with it to make everyone happy. I am very smart and want to do the right things when asked. I love humans, my crate and soft beds. In my foster home the other dogs think I am to fast to play with but I try to play with them. Maybe they will come around. I am looking for a home where someone will love me for me. No one know how I got injured but it was not my fault. I deserve to be loved and have a loving family like all other dogs. If you have room in your heart and lap and couch please give me a chance. I will pay you back with lots of love. If interested in giving me a forever home, please complete an application at safeanimalhaven.org.November 5, 2024, 12:12 am

Story
Clara Holly and Clara came from a home where they were not well taken care of. They were living outside all the time with several other dogs. Both are heartworm positive and have started the slow kill method of taking Heartguard every month. This method usually takes at least a year to test negative. Both Holly and Clara are sweet dogs. Clara loves to be held, petted and fed. She can be playful. Holly is sweet as well but very timid. She likes to be approached slowly and in on her terms. She is clearly afraid of people. But once you get to pet her or hold her she loves the attention. She loves to play and follow Clara around. She becomes braver when she is next to Clara. Both have had a few accidents but once outside they know what to do. Both of these girls deserve a loving inside home. They deserve to be fed on a regular basis. They deserve fresh water. They deserve toys and chews. They deserve their own soft beds. They deserve as many pets as they will tolerate. They deserve to be dogs who feel safe. If you have love and a soft place to land these two may be your next best friends. If interested in giving Holly and Clara a home together, please complete our application at safeanimalhaven.org.

Story
Charlie is 8 years old, I got him from a breeder when he was a puppy. Due to human allergies, I unfortunately have to rehome him. But I would love for his new family to be experienced with German shepherds. He is smart and loving, loves to play with a squeaky Kong ball, and Enjoys playing catch with it outside. He is calm most of the day, until you start playing with him, then he will have all the energy in the world. He loves rawhide bones. He is very treat motivated. Potty trained and house trained. Basic commands trained (sit, stay, come, lay down, paw, stand, bed, leave it, drop it) Does not destroy items, except his toys. He loves giving you kisses, he’s very sweet and loving to people he is used to, as a German shepherd he is protective, so introduction to new people is necessary. He is not good with kids. So new owner has to be with no kids.
