Story

We are so sad to be posting this, but we area looking rehome our sweet Odie. We rehomed him from Central PA about 5 months ago. Not much is known about his previous medical history. He is believed to be about a year old and is a Border Collie, Bernese Mountain Dog, and Anatolian Shepherd mix. We have had him neutered and his shots are up to date! He has done well with our chickens. Although he does think they are playing with him and will chase them occasionally. We sadly have to give him up because he does not get along with our 3 year old black lab. We think this is due to jealously and competition for dominance. Odie does however get along with our older farm dog who is about 14 years old. Odie previously lived with 2 other small dogs and per his previous owner, got along well with them as well. Odie is the most lovable, cuddly dog and wants all the pets! He is happiest when he is cuddling us. He doesn’t realize how large he really is but he acts like a large lap dog!

Meet Sulou! Sulou is a 6 and a half-year-old, female, Akita, weighing at a whopping 135 pounds! Sulou was surrendered to us through no fault of her own. Although she is a very big dog, she is super affectionate, friendly, sweet, and is the definition of "gentle giant!" Sulou would love her adopters to take her on walks, so she can show how great she does while walking on a leash. Sulou is a pretty calm dog, but would do best in a home with no children under 15. She would need to meet any people she would be going home with and would do best in a home with no pets. Meet "KYLO", he is a y4 year old retriever terrier mix. Hes a big boy weighing 63 pounds. Kylo is all puppy still, he is very energetic, loves to play with toys, and be around humans. Kylo is starting to learn his manners, and any potential adopters will want to continue training with him. Because of his energy level no children under 10, Kylo loves to be center of attention and would prefer to be the only dog in the family.

Meet "Tracker", he is a 5 year old Coonhound mix, weighing 60 pounds. Tracker is a sweet and friendly as can be, he came to the shelter of no fault of his own. Tracker was previously an outside dog, so will need a lot of patience teaching him the ropes of living in a home. He loves getting petted and getting treats. Tracker will need to meet any other dogs in the family, and no children under 15.

This "Special Needs" girl is "Bertha". She is a 8 year old pit bull, she was found by good Samaritans and brought to the shelter. Bertha has obviously had a hard 8 years, she was underweight, and had severe glaucoma in her right eye, and some lung problems; she has since gained weight and had her eye removed, although her road to recovery still exists, as her other eye will need continued medications and veterinary follow ups. Bertha loves to chew bones and play with stuffed toys, she likes to explore when on walks and sleep on big comfortable blankets. Bertha needs to be the only animal in the home and no children.

He is so intelligent, and loves putting his mind to work with mental stimulation toys. He is learning to trust people again, and may take a moment to build the trust, but once he does, its kisses all day! He would benefit from continued training, and a family that has time to spend working with him. Arrow should not go home with children under 15 years of age and will need to meet any dogs in the potential adopters family.
