Story
Benny is a 35 lb Miniature Australian Shepherd who will turn 7 on May 21st. He’s the perfect mix of calm and playful, affectionate, intelligent, and incredibly loyal. Benny is friendly and social with people, though he may be a bit shy at first. He warms up quickly and loves being around kids. He thrives on outdoor play and would do best in a home with a fenced yard where he can run and explore. While he enjoys being active, Benny also knows how to relax and settle down, making him a great companion for both adventures and downtime. Due to his herding instincts, he tends to walk close to people’s legs, so he may not be ideal for seniors or anyone with balance concerns. He is healthy, up to date on all vaccinations, and regularly checked by the vet. Benny prefers to be the only pet in the home. While he does fine with other dogs in boarding, he doesn’t enjoy sharing his living space with them or with cats. We love Benny deeply and this decision has been incredibly hard.

Story
Meet Tom! This big lug-head doesn’t care what you call him: Tom, Tommy, Thomas, Tom Tom, Tim Tam … Big Head. As long as you’ve got eyes for him, you’ve already won his heart. Tom was originally picked up as a terrified, emaciated stray found right here in White Oak, but he’s made incredible progress since then. He’s gained back all the weight he lost (and then some love along the way!) and is now a healthy 70lbs of pure affection. We like to call him a “super mutt” because your guess is as good as ours when it comes to his breed mix! You'll just have to come meet him in person to help us solve the mystery. Tom loves to play fetch, and I mean LOVES it! Seriously, he could go for hours. But if you’re not up for a marathon game, he let us know he’s happy to compromise and come inside to curl up on top of you for company. This big guy is working on his sit and leash manners, and he’s picking it up fast! Tom will do anything for treats and is super smart. He’s just waiting to show you how good of a boy he can be. Tom seems to get along just fine with other dogs, though a meet and greet is always required for potential doggy siblings. With slow introductions, we think he’d do well with cats too. Due to his size and enthusiastic personality, Tom would be best with older kids who can handle his happy energy without getting bowled over. Think you could make Tom’s day, and his whole life, by giving him a real home where he’ll never go hungry or feel scared again? Give us a call at 412-672-8901 to set up an appointment to meet this big-hearted boy.

Story
Meet Dottie! Say hello to Dottie! A 2-year-old black, brindle & white pittie mix who’s as gorgeous as she is sweet! Weighing in at about 50 lbs, this fun-sized girl is full of love, wiggles, and playful energy! Dottie is a total sweetheart. She’s friendly, cuddly, and always ready for some fun. She’s been waiting sooo long for a forever home of her own. Picked up by animal control last August, she’s spent around 10 months in a kennel, and we’re crossing our fingers (and paws!) she finds her people before hitting a full year in the shelter. Dottie gets along with other dogs, especially her best shelter pal, Buddy. She would love a proper meet-and-greet with any potential furry siblings! She might also be okay with confident, dog-savvy cats with slow introductions, of course! She’d shine in a home with kiddos who know and love big, bouncy dogs. This amazing girl is so ready to trade kennel life for couch snuggles, backyard zoomies, and a family to call her own Ready to meet your new bestie? Call us at 412-672-8901 to meet Dottie, she’s got a heart full of love and can’t wait to share it with YOU!
