Story
Strong, active female searching for an equally strong and active companion to go on adventures. Nala Jean is a beautiful, special girl who is looking for someone who can accommodate her capabilities - can scale a 6 foot wall with little effort, can jump high enough to look a 6 foot person in the eyes, and can escape a flimsy kennel quicker than you can spell "Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious. Nala is not a dog who wants to lay around the house all day - she wants to get up and go, and loves to ride in the car! Based on the experience of volunteers who are very familiar with her personality, she seems to be comfortable with women from the get-go, but she can be a little leery of men, and needs a slow introduction to them. However, once she gets to know you (male or female), she will shower you with kisses and want to spend all her time near you. Nala is also selective about dogs and would likely be better suited to a home without small children. If you are a person who wants a dog that can share your active lifestyle and can give Nala the guidance and environment she needs, you will gain a devoted companion who will likely never tire out before you do.

Not good with kids, Good with dogs, Good with cats, Needs special attention,
Story
Doc is an approximately 4 year old German Shepherd mix who is looking for a special home. He is a smart, happy and playful pup with a lot of energy who enjoys playing with toys and going for walks, but he is very protective of his home and people, and as a result, he needs to be introduced to new people gradually. However, once he learns to trust someone, you won't find a more devoted, fun and affectionate dog. Doc would do best in a home that does not have different people coming and going, a home without children, and he needs an experienced owner who understands how to deal his over protectiveness. Doc lived in a foster home for a short period and got along very well with the other dogs and cats in the home, plus he does well with the other dogs in the kennel and shows no aggression towards other dogs he encounters on walks. A potential adopter needs to understand that meeting Doc will require a series of meet and greets under the supervision of Pet Friends volunteers to gain his trust. For the right owner, however, Doc will be a devoted and affectionate pup that will provide years of unconditional love.

Story
Meet Jordan, aka "Jordy". This sweet girl came to us after her owner suddenly passed away. Jordy spent 9 years very loved but didn't have much socialization with other animals or people and spent most of her day inside a small apartment. Her trips outside were only as far as the leash could reach off the porch. Jordy has adjusted very well at her foster home. She's fully trained to go outside and has even learned some new commands! She's getting better on her leash every day! Jordy is a cuddle bug and will no doubt live up to the old saying "mans best friend". She loves to snuggle on the couch and will sleep with you. Gives gentle kisses and even hugs! Don't let her age fool you! This lady loves to play fetch. There is NOTHING she loves more than a ride in the car. Jordy needs a loving, patient home that will give her time to adjust. Ideally, someone who is home all day and can spend lots of time just hanging out. She is working to overcome some separation anxiety. Jordan will do best in a home with no cats. She has been around dogs and is tolerable. An appropriate meet and greet would be required. Can you gve Jordy her second chance?

Story
Looking for a friend to go on a hike with this summer? Dee Dee is your girl! She loves exploring new trails with friends and relaxing by the creek. Who ever said old dogs can’t learn new tricks didn’t know me! I have had a rough life and was found abandoned in a house—I am thankful for my second chance at life and am excited to meet my furever family!   I am looking for a calm home where I can relax in my older years. Despite my age (8 years), I am in good health and I am moderately active. I would make a good hiking friend and fellow couch potato. I am very easy going with fur friends and haven’t met a dog I didn’t like! I love exploring new trails, taking a walk through a creek, and sunbathing in the yard while I watch birdies fly around.  I am very wise and love deeply after I warm up to people. I love kids but sometimes big people scare me—mostly men—so I will need someone who is patient and kind when introducing me to new folks. I am well mannered in a home. I am potty trained and greatly appreciate any blankets I am allowed to snuggle with. Will you take the time to meet me? ##1620070##

Story
Hi My Name is Gracie. I am a Beautiful and Flirty Girl. I'm a 3-4 yr old Mountain Cur and I'm about 53 lbs. Not to toot my own horn but... toot toot, I am totally housebroken and crate trained. I can become bossy and feel like I should take charge if I don't feel my owner is strong enough to be my leader. Be cause of this I would be better off without small children. I love to play with other dogs and I show no aggression, but I will guard if my humans don't provide a calm assertive environment.  I am a true hound always on the lookout for bunnies and squirrels, so no kitties please.  I would love a fenced in yard because I love to run and play with my foster buddies. I am also a couch potato and love to cuddle and sleep. Oh, I Love to eat my food, and Treats, yes! I Love Treats!  ##1409693##

Story
If you ask the volunteers at Pet Friends to describe Everly with one word, some would say "pretty because of her beautiful face and brindle coat. Others would say "sweet because she loves to be around people and craves attention. Regardless of how you describe her, she makes an immediate impression. At about 40 pounds, she would be considered medium sized, but she could stand to put on a few pounds. Everly walks well on a leash, knows some basic commands, and likes to play with dog toys, but we have learned that she can be a bit destructive with soft toys. She has not been cat tested and has been ok with some dogs but not others. From an energy level perspective, she would be considered medium - not too rambunctious but not a slug either. Of course, you can form your own impression by coming to meet our pretty and sweet Everly!
