Story
Riggs is ready for his people! Our adult tri-colored Rottweiler/mix boy has a great friendly temperament and is smart as a whip. Fully grown at approximately 2 years old, loves attention and has a energy level that isn't too much but is just enough. His sweet nature shines though his beautiful eyes showing you that he's got so much love to give and will be a wonderful additional to the right family. He walks well on a leash and knows some commands. Another dog as a companion may work for Riggs but, as always, a meet-and-greet with another dog his size is a must prior to adoption. He is very treat motivated which means he'll love to learn new things. Riggs can be a bit food protective and would do best in a home without small children and without cats. Riggs is a courtesy post for the Brooke County Animal Shelter in Beechbottom, WV, about 45 minutes from Pittsburgh. Please contact the shelter at 304-394-0800 for more information or to arrange a meet and greet with Riggs.November 16, 2025, 1:31 pm

Story
Meet Louie -- medium in size but big in sparkle. He is a black and white beauty that does well with other dogs but he is not a fan of cats. Louie has perky ears, a striking speckled neck ruff and possesses a calm energy. Louie might take a bit of time to get to know his new family but once that happens, he will show you how wonderful he really is. He is one of those dogs who is equally up for exploring the trail and snuggling on the couch. He will bring his affectionate and grounded energy to whatever is on the agenda -- he just needs a bit of time to get to know his new family.  Louie is a courtesy post for the Brooke County Animal Shelter in Beechbottom, WV, about 45 minutes from Pittsburgh. Please contact the shelter at 304-394-0800 for more information or to arrange a meet and greet with Louie.August 5, 2025, 11:44 am

Story
A few words to describe Harper -- young and drop dead gorgeous! Harper is here and ready for a fabulous new year! Harper is a young female Shepherd mix girl who arrived at the shelter after being found on the side of a road with a bag of food and fractured leg. Now fully healed, Harper is on the smaller size for a shepherd. She is a people lover who will do best in a home with those familiar with shepherd personality and who can provide her with regular but not too intense activity. She will also benefit in a home environment where she can be busy as she likes to learn new things. She seems to do well with other dogs at the shelter but, as always, a meet and greet with any existing dogs in the home is necessary. This sweet dog is just waiting to be your best friend. Beauty and brains are hard to beat. Harper is a courtesy post for the Brooke County Animal Shelter in Beechbottom, WV, about 45 minutes from Pittsburgh. Please contact the shelter at 304-394-0800 for more information on Harper or to arrange a meet and greet.January 19, 2026, 12:35 pm
