WE ARE A TX BASED RESCUE. THIS DOG IS CURRENTLY LOCATED IN TX AND WILL BE TRANSPORTED UPON ADOPTION. Please fill out an adoption application found at haydudeequine.org Harley - You are the bridge between what was and what will be, my pathway to a new life! My name is Harley and it comes from the Old English origin meaning 'Hare Meadow', which represents a peaceful and serene image. Just nothing like seeing a Pyr laying in the yard watching! Unfortunately my elderly owner is not able to care for me any longer but I'm trying not to let it get me down as I look for another family to adopt. Did you know that I came from royalty? The Pyrenees breed came from France where we made our way up from being a peasant farmers dog to the royal court being named the royal dog of France in 1675. Even Queen Victoria had a Pyr. We are strong willed and can sometimes be stubborn but more importantly we are affectionate, patient, confident, fearless and gentle. It is said that we wouldn't make a good breed for first timers but if you're aware of the negative traits (sometimes stubborn & lots of hair) along with the awesome good traits, we could definitely make it work. As a youngster at only around a year and a half old, I do have some basic obedience training, am well mannered, I don't jump up unless invited and have a sweet, loving warm nature that just adores getting 'good boys' from my people. I am a big boy of snowy white fluff. I will need several weekly brushings to keep my royal self tangle free and looking dapper and the vacuum will be an extension of your arm with me around but the reward of my adoring love for you will sooooo be worth it!! A couple of daily 45 minute walks a day should be enough to keep me happy. With that daily exercise in I can do quite well in town with a yard or in the country. I fall into the 3 G category which is Gorgeous, Gentle and Giant. Instinctively nurturing with the flock or family, we do make great family members. Just make sure the couch is big enough for sharing!!! My breed tend to love being with the family and are content to lay at or on your feet or curled up with you on that big enough couch. I'm here to adopt me a family and since you're reading this you must being missing something special in your life too, could it possibly be...ME?!!

Meet Namaste! Through no fault of his own, this handsome 5-year-old boy has sadly spent the last 2.5 years here at Animal Friends. Namaste has been a part of a court case, and is just now able to be adopted to an adult-only, loving, patient home. Namaste is one of our dogs who would like to be the only pet within the home and soak up all of the attention to himself. This 45lb boy is also a part of our Foster-To-Adopt program, which means for 4 weeks our trainers here at Animal Friends will work with you and Namaste on his behavior and training within his new home. He is a high energy boy, who would benefit from positive reinforcement training. He is the perfect example of our mission: to rescue, rehabilitate, and rehome animals. Namaste is one of Animal Friend's VIPs! Our VIP Adoption Special was recently created as a means to spotlight some of our residents that have spent longer than average times in the shelter due to their more unique needs. With the VIP Adoption Special we hope to provide as much communication and education about each individual VIP resident and their unique needs as possible, as well as additional resources where needed upon their eventual adoption. Prana is a part of an ongoing court case, and is just now able to be available for adoption. She needs to be the only pet in your home; she would love to have all your attention! Our staff has been working with Prana on positive reinforcement training, and she has been excelling. She needs a home where this training would continue. Meet Yogi! He is a happy, loved boy here at Animal Friends, but unfortunately his life before coming here was difficult. This cute boy is 2.5 years old and came to the shelter through our Humane Investigation department as just a small puppy. Due to Yogi's court case, he had no choice but to grow up in the shelter. Yogi has made so many friends, learned wonderful doggy manners, and has made great strides during his time here with us. Now it is finally time for this boy to get to know a true home! This 50lb boy is also a part of our Foster-To-Adopt program, which means for 4 weeks our trainers here at Animal Friends will work with you and Yogi on his behavior and training within his new home. Yogi is a high energy boy who loves to play, and do enrichment, but Yogi does need to live in a home that is adults-only. He also could potentially live with another dog pending a successful meet and greet. Yogi is one of our Extra Loved residents. Although all of our resident animals get plenty of love, many of them come from backgrounds that require them to need a little extra. Extra care. Extra attention. Extra patience. They've certainly been extra loved here! his handsome guy is RJ! He came to Animal Friends as part of a transfer from another organization. Throughout the months RJ has been with us, he has shown us how intelligent and playful he is. While interacting with staff and volunteers, RJ has learned obedience commands, and would love to expand upon training in his new home. He loves having his daily enrichment time, and adopters should continue providing opportunities for him to sniff, solve puzzles, and more! RJ takes some time to warm up to new people, and may prefer to meet a few times before finally going home! He would prefer a family with children 13 years or older, who can respect his boundaries and set him up for success. RJ can be dog selective, and would prefer to go as a single dog; he might enjoy some canine friends, but not a roommate! RJ also can not live with any smaller mammals like cats or rabbits. Meet Tattianna! She is an energetic dog who came to Animal Friends as a transfer from another organization. During her time with us, Tattianna has shown off how intelligent and playful she is! Staff and volunteers engage Tattianna in daily activities to help direct her energy. After vigorous play sessions, Tattianna enjoys snuggling on your lap to unwind. Tattianna will need a patient, dog-savvy family who will devote a lot of time to continuing her training with positive reinforcement. She would do best in a home with humans who are at least 13 years old. Also, Tattianna should not live with any other pets so she can soak up all the love and attention for herself!
