Story
Meet Baxter! Baxter is a joyful, six-year-old Cocker Spaniel with a lovable personality and a whole lot of spunk. He's mostly housebroken, crate-trained, and brings happiness everywhere he goes! This sweet boy recently tested positive for Lyme, but he was a champ with his medication and completed his treatment with no complications. Baxter is a devoted companion who loves his people deeply. In true Cocker Spaniel fashion, he has shown some protective instincts-occasionally giving a warning growl if he feels another dog or person might be a threat to his foster mom-so he'll do best in a family without small children and an adopter who understands dog communication and isn't startled by a growl. He enjoys going outside but prefers when his human goes with him. With regular potty breaks and a little routine, he does wonderfully. If skipped, he may leave a "reminder," so he'll thrive with someone who can accompany him outdoors a few times a day. Baxter gets along well with the other dogs in his foster home and loves being near his people-following his foster mom from room to room. He settles nicely in a crate, though he may bark if he knows you're home and he's not with you. And when it's time to come out? Baxter celebrates like he just won the lottery! Baxter's ideal home is one without young children and with someone who is home more often than not, after all, he just wants to be cuddled on the couch 24/7. A fenced-in yard would be a wonderful bonus. He's a sweetheart who simply wants someone to love-and someone who appreciates his loyal, protective nature in return. If you're looking for a devoted companion with a big heart and an even bigger desire to cuddle, Baxter may be your perfect match. Do you have room in your heart to give Baxter a lifetime of love and snuggles? Apply today! ##2546703##

Story
Ivan is a gorgeous, ~3 year old, 65lb boy. We think he's a Lab / Carolina Dog mix based on his features. Regardless of breed, he’s a loyal guy looking for his forever human(s). Housetrained: Yes!Cratetrained: Yes!Neutered: Yes!Up to date on shots: Yes!Key fact: Ivan LOVES people. He adores head scratches and sitting near you.Favorite indoor activity: bones, bones, bones!!Favorite outdoor activity: zooming in the yard or helping my foster mom with gardeningDogs: Ivan would like to be your one and only Cats: Ivan thinks they are food, so no cats! When you're home, he loves to be with you and would happily keep you company while you do cook, watch tv, read, garden, or soak up the sun. He is also content chewing a bone or enjoying a kong. He has also stepped up his napping game. If you have a sectional, Ivan loves to snooze on the chaise while you snooze on the main part of the couch. Given his size and his personality, we are requiring a single family home with a fenced in yard or a home that would provide him with space to run! Older kids would be fine for Ivan. He can get excited and sometimes jump - please be willing to continue his training with this - so we feel best if his home doesn't have younger children or those unstable on their feet.  He is working on knowing that sitting calm = happy humans and/or treatos. Ivan is a boy with a heart of gold who will love you beyond measure. He may win you over when he leans into you, somehow both giving and requesting love. He deserves someone who will be patient with him. And give lots of pets and head kisses, which are his favorite. If you think this could be you, please apply for him today. Story
Daisy: A Sweet Pup Learning to Trust Again Daisy is a 5 month old, 20lb female Beagle mix puppy who is shy but sweet and just wants to feel secure. This little girl has been through more than any puppy should, and because of that, she can be very scared and timid when meeting new people. She will need a patient, understanding adopter who’s willing to go slow and help her continue to build confidence. What Daisy Loves: Other dogs. Daisy absolutely blossoms around confident canine friends. Because people still make her nervous, she MUST go to a home with another friendly, confident dog to help guide and comfort her. Her trusted humans. Once Daisy gets to know you, she becomes a total cuddle bug who adores being close to her people. A calm and quiet environment. Sudden movements and loud noises can overwhelm her, so a peaceful, low-traffic home is best. Her Ideal Home:Daisy likely had negative experiences with a man in her past, and she is especially fearful around men. She would do best with a female adopter or a home where men can take things very slowly with her over time. She also needs a family that is home more often than not, as she is working through some separation anxiety. Because of her fearfulness and sensitivity, young children are not a good fit for Daisy. She would truly thrive in a calm environment where she can cuddle, decompress, and continue to grow with the help of a confident dog companion. Training and Progress: Crate trained Working hard on potty training (occasional accidents still happen) Learning manners and already knows some commands like sit, down, come, stay, here but will need continued training. Still a puppy, so she can get into things if she’s bored. Chew toys and enrichment items are essential. Daisy Deserves the BestDespite everything she’s been through, Daisy remains a lovable, gentle girl who just wants to feel safe, loved, and understood. She is spayed, microchipped, and up to date on all vaccines and ready for her next chapter. If you have the patience, compassion, and heart to help Daisy forget her difficult past and show her what a true forever home feels like, please apply for her today at www.pawsacrosspittsburgh.com/adopt Paws Across Pittsburgh KL#16182 ##2585578##

Story
Meet Arnold - “The Cowardly Lion” Follow the yellow brick road to your new best friend! Meet Arnold, our gentle giant who’s as lovable as the Cowardly Lion from the Wizard of Oz. Arnold is 2 years old and about 70 lbs. His breed is unknown, but our best guess is Mastiff x hound.  He may not roar like a lion, but he’ll shower you with love and loyalty that’s truly magical. Arnold is looking for a warm-hearted family who will help him grow into the brave dog he knows he can be.  He’s great with kids, other dogs, and even cats, making him the perfect addition to any household!  Even though he’s shy at first, he’s a playful boy who loves all kinds of toys.  Arnold is house-trained if he is kept on a schedule, so he will need a little structure until he perfects this skill. He does well in a crate after some initial protest. He stays by your side when walking on a leash, but he needs a bit more practice and confidence. Though he might need a little encouragement to find his courage, once he knows he’s safe, he’ll be your devoted companion, just like a trusty traveling partner down the yellow brick road.  Are you ready to help Arnold find his courage? Help us show Arnold there’s no place like home.  Arnold is neutered and up-to-date on vaccinations. He is available for adoption now through Paws Across Pittsburgh, Springdale, Pa 15144 KL#16182 ##2602124##

Story
Met the Yinzer litter - Rachel, Mary, Sophie, Rosie, and Nellie- named after important Pittsburgh natives/icons. They are 8 weeks old and range in weight from 7.5-10.5 lbs. Their mama Hazel has a beautiful somewhat wired fur, so we are guessing they are some sort of wire haired terrier and maybe hound mix. They are your typical puppies with lots of energy and desire to be trained to be the bestest dogs they can be. Rachel Carson loves to stare into your soul with her big dark brown eyes to get all your attention. She loves playing in the water bowl, channeling her namesake's love for marine life. She has a short soft fur coat.  Mary Cassatt is the shyer pup of the litter, usually waiting for a human or her mama to come let her cuddle with them. Like human Cassatt, she values portraying the family bond. But don't let that fool you, this girl knows how to play when you get her going. She has a short soft fur coat.  Sophie Masloff is a ring leader - getting everyone else to play or sleep when its time. She is spunky with her hops around the ex-pen. She has an underlying short soft fur coat, but also has wire fur also spread throughout her coat like her mama.  Rosie the Riveter, while not the biggest, she is very active in her efforts to make sure the litter are fed in a timely manner by their foster so that they can continue to physically grow. She has a short soft fur coat.  Nellie Bly is the instigator of the group - waking up her siblings when she wants to play or making sure she sneakily rushes to the front of the group to try to get the first of the cuddles. She is the only pup with hazel colored eyes. She has an underlying short soft fur coat, but also has wire fur also spread throughout her coat like her mama.  They have 1 brother, Fred Rogers, who was born with cleft lip and will be made available for adoption once he is medically cleared. With the exception of Fred, they will be ready for adoption starting on 12/16/25 and will be spayed, microchipped and up to date on age appropriate vaccinations.  Apply to adopt them through Paws Across Pittsburgh, KL #16182, Springdale, PA 15144 via www.pawsacrosspittsburgh.com/adopt. ##2607075##
