Story
Ivan is a gorgeous, ~3 year old, 65lb boy. We think he's a Lab / Carolina Dog / Pittie mix based on his features. Regardless of breed, he’s a loyal guy looking for his forever human(s). Housetrained: Yes!Cratetrained: Yes!Neutered: Yes!Up to date on shots: Yes!Key fact: Ivan LOVES people. He adores head scratches and sitting near you.Favorite indoor activity: bones, bones, bones!! He also loves to snooze on the couch while you're working.Favorite outdoor activity: zooming in the yard or helping my foster mom with gardeningDogs: Ivan would like to be your one and only Cats: Ivan thinks they are food, so no cats! When you're home, he loves to be with you and would happily keep you company while you do cook, watch tv, read, garden, or soak up the sun. He is also content chewing a bone or enjoying a kong. He has also stepped up his napping game. If you have a sectional, Ivan loves to snooze on the chaise while you snooze on the main part of the couch. Given his size, we are requiring a single family home with a fenced in yard or a home that would provide him with space to run! Older kids would be fine for Ivan. He can get excited and sometimes jump - please be willing to continue his training with this - so we feel best if his home doesn't have younger children or those unstable on their feet.  He is working on knowing that sitting calm = happy humans and/or treatos. Ivan is a boy with a heart of gold who will love you beyond measure. He may win you over when he leans into you, somehow both giving and requesting love. He deserves someone who will be patient with him. And give lots of pets and head kisses, which are his favorite. If you think this could be you, please apply for him today. Story
Hi Everyone, Meet Caillou!  Originally a NYC pup, he is thriving living with three other dogs now in the Burgh. Caillou is a medium sized 40lb dog. He is a very goofy, playful and in addition to this, he takes direction very well. He enjoys hikes, playing with people and thrives on structure. Some of the things you’ll love about Caillou He does very well at home and listens. He is potty trained and understands routines very well. Smart and responsive. He knows his commands well and performs well under pressure. Works well with clear instructions. Our favorite, his social life. Caillou has been living with multiple dogs and has many healthy interactions with different dogs coming in to the house while learning how to share space with other dogs. He enjoys activities, squirrels and can also chill out when he needs to and just relax. He's never met a person that's a stranger. An Ideal Home For Caillou Caillou is well trained dog. He would thrive in a home where there is consistency, direction and tons of fun. He is not a dog starting from scratch. He knows how to live in a home and be apart of routine, making it easy to get him adjusted. An adopter who likes to have fun, play and give structure will absolutely love this dog. If you think Caillou would be a perfect addition to your home, please apply for him today! He is available for adoption at pawsacrosspittsburgh.com/adopt Paws Across Pittsburgh, PA 15144 KL#16182. ##2641142##

Story
Barbie is a tender-hearted, deeply loving pup who forms strong bonds once she feels safe and secure. She will love her person with her whole heart, but she needs time and patience to open up in a new environment. Barbie does best with consistency, calm guidance, and a home that understands she is sensitive and still learning to trust. This sweet girl has had a rough start to life and it appears she lived out doors. Barbi e came into rescue when she needed surgery due to trouble giving birth to her puppies.  Barbie does experience separation anxiety, so she will thrive in a home where someone works from home or is not gone for long hours. When her person is away, she will need appropriate outlets such as Nylabones, Kongs, and enrichment or puzzle toys to help her stay calm and occupied. Metal feeding bowls will be a must and a predictable routine and positive reinforcement will go a long way in helping her continue to build confidence. She tends to prefer women and appears fearful of men; however, this is likely due to very limited exposure rather than true intolerance. With time, patience, and positive experiences, this may improve. Barbie would do best in a home without small children, as she can be rough and rowdy when excited and may not always realize her own strength. Barbie has a high prey drive and should not live with cats. She may also not be a good fit for homes with small dogs, as she showed a bit too much interest in a smaller dog in her foster home. She has, however, done well around pot-bellied pigs, showing that she can coexist successfully with the right animal companions. Barbie is fully vaccinated, spayed, and microchipped and is working on both crate training and potty training. She is not a “one-size-fits-all” dog, but for the right adopter—someone patient, understanding, and ready to provide a stable, loving home—Barbie will be an incredibly devoted and rewarding companion. ##2642993##

Story
Tansy is a joyful, high-energy girl who truly loves life and brings enthusiasm into everything she does. She is playful, spirited, and always ready to be part of the action, especially when other dogs are getting attention. If she feels left out, she can be a bit vocal—treating you to some very cute howls and barks—but she settles down quickly once she’s reassured. When held, Tansy melts right into cuddle mode and enjoys being close to her people. Like many young, energetic pups, Tansy is still learning the difference between what is appropriate to chew on and what is not, so she will benefit from continued supervision, consistency, and plenty of appropriate chew toys. She is doing well with both crate training and potty training and is showing great progress as she learns household routines. Tansy has been around a small dog and cats and has done well with both. She could live in a home with small children but would need close supervision as she continues learning good chewing habits and appropriate play. With her loving nature, cuddly side, and zest for life, Tansy will thrive in an active home that’s ready to guide her energy and enjoy her affectionate, fun-loving personality. ##2643200##

Story
Meet Pepper! Pepper is a 25 pound, 7 month old mixed breed pupper!  She is a peppy, curious yet cautious cutie! She will bark at you upon meeting but generally approves of you if given a few minutes to sniff you out and perhaps with a treat to sweeten the deal. Pepper is a girl that thrives on connection and playtime - both with other dogs and with humans. Pepper is accustomed to eating, napping, and sleeping overnight in her crate. She is also mostly house trained if kept on a schedule. Little Miss Pepper Pants is very treat-motivated and eager to learn, making training a fun bonding experience. She can be intimiated when meeting new dogs and may be a bit vocal the first few minutes. Once she feels she's communicated effectively, she wants to play.  Like with all puppies, she will want someone who is prepared to continue typical puppy training so she can be the best girl she can be - things like leash-walking, general behavior, etc will be necessary to ensure long term success. She is fine with other dogs or kids. She's not met any cats but would likely be ok with them if the adopter is willing to be patient and go with slow intros (as recommended with any home that has cats). Pepper is spayed, microchipped, and up to date on core vaccinations. ##2619032##

Story
Be Mine, Valentine — Meet Poe! Poe is a 4-month-old hound mix who’s ready to steal your heart one kiss at a time. This sweet boy is full of puppy playfulness, but once he’s had his fun, he’s happiest curled up next to you for a cozy cuddle and nap. Poe is doing great with crate training and potty training and is already impressing everyone with his routine. He sleeps soundly through the night from about 10:30 pm - 6:30 am, keeps his crate clean, and settles in with minimal fuss. When supervised and kept on a consistent schedule, he remains accident-free in the house. Like any puppy, Poe is still learning and will need a patient, loving owner committed to continuing his training. With guidance, love, and a little consistency, this Valentine boy is going to grow into the most loyal companion. If you’re looking for a playful sweetheart who also excels at snuggles, Poe just might be your perfect match Paws Across Pittsburgh Springdale, PA 15144KL #16182 ##2647243##
