Story
Boomer was adopted by a family with small children at the time. They also had cats. He lived a good life with them for approximately 5 years. He will be 6 soon. Unfortunately, the family split up and were unable to take care of Boomer. We took Boomer under these circumstances so we can find him a good home. We do not have the room for him sadly , He needs a nice fenced in yard to run and play in. He loves to run. He can get a little food agressive , but has never bitten anyone. He is a coonhound so he sure lets you know that by his howl. If we could keep him we definitely. would. It wouldn't be fair to him if we did . We are only asking a rehoming fee so we can assure he goes to a good home . If you are interested reach out!! He is the biggest most loving dog. And loves to cuddle. The price can be in negotiated. He needs a nice home 🙏❤️

Story
Melly has been a special addition to our family for about 6 years. Due to unforeseen family health circumstances, we’re heartbroken to have to rehome him. Melly is just a huge love bug. He adores cuddling in warm, cozy spots and wants all the affection you can give. He’s an old soul who thrives on close companionship. Melly is wonderful with children, but would likely prefer a calm, peaceful household at this stage of life. He likes to stay within eyesight and will experience separation anxiety when left alone. Preferably someone who works from home and can take him everywhere, as he cannot be left alone due to his separation anxiety. Another dog in the home would likely keep him calm and give companionship for the potential of leaving him. He’s fully house- and crate-trained. Melly has a history of Lyme disease, so his joints occasionally bother him—especially during cold or rainy weather—but he manages well with love and care. Melly is gun shy and CANNOT be used as a hunting dog.

Story
Born on June 5 2018. Alazor is hands down the coolest and most loyal dog I've ever met. He loves people so much. Adults are his favorite. He loves to go for walks and hikes. And playing Frisbee or seek.He loves to be with you and do things with you like going to the brewery or bars. We've been on several road trips, even as far as Asheville NC and he did beautifully. Wants to go with you everywhere. Loves to be tucked in before bed. House trained, won't destroy anything when you are out. Well trained and loves training. Can benefit from some specific training like barking at windows and door. Knows all basics and more. Minor shoulder soft tissue injury that flares up occasionally only when sprints too hard. Strangers have to be respectful and let him sniff and get comfortable first. Resource guarding with strangers and kids. No cats. Selective with dogs. Needs a house with no children. He's quite perfect but he bit my son once to guard his food. Not his fault but we need to stay safe.

Story
Barbie is a tender-hearted, deeply loving pup who forms strong bonds once she feels safe and secure. She will love her person with her whole heart, but she needs time and patience to open up in a new environment. Barbie does best with consistency, calm guidance, and a home that understands she is sensitive and still learning to trust. This sweet girl has had a rough start to life and it appears she lived out doors. Barbi e came into rescue when she needed surgery due to trouble giving birth to her puppies.  Barbie does experience separation anxiety, so she will thrive in a home where someone works from home or is not gone for long hours. When her person is away, she will need appropriate outlets such as Nylabones, Kongs, and enrichment or puzzle toys to help her stay calm and occupied. Metal feeding bowls will be a must and a predictable routine and positive reinforcement will go a long way in helping her continue to build confidence. She tends to prefer women and appears fearful of men; however, this is likely due to very limited exposure rather than true intolerance. With time, patience, and positive experiences, this may improve. Barbie would do best in a home without small children, as she can be rough and rowdy when excited and may not always realize her own strength. Barbie has a high prey drive and should not live with cats. She may also not be a good fit for homes with small dogs, as she showed a bit too much interest in a smaller dog in her foster home. She has, however, done well around pot-bellied pigs, showing that she can coexist successfully with the right animal companions. Barbie is fully vaccinated, spayed, and microchipped and is working on both crate training and potty training. She is not a “one-size-fits-all” dog, but for the right adopter—someone patient, understanding, and ready to provide a stable, loving home—Barbie will be an incredibly devoted and rewarding companion. ##2642993##

Story
Tansy is a joyful, high-energy girl who truly loves life and brings enthusiasm into everything she does. She is playful, spirited, and always ready to be part of the action, especially when other dogs are getting attention. If she feels left out, she can be a bit vocal—treating you to some very cute howls and barks—but she settles down quickly once she’s reassured. When held, Tansy melts right into cuddle mode and enjoys being close to her people. Like many young, energetic pups, Tansy is still learning the difference between what is appropriate to chew on and what is not, so she will benefit from continued supervision, consistency, and plenty of appropriate chew toys. She is doing well with both crate training and potty training and is showing great progress as she learns household routines. Tansy has been around a small dog and cats and has done well with both. She could live in a home with small children but would need close supervision as she continues learning good chewing habits and appropriate play. With her loving nature, cuddly side, and zest for life, Tansy will thrive in an active home that’s ready to guide her energy and enjoy her affectionate, fun-loving personality. ##2643200##

Story
Meet Skip Looking for a loyal love this Valentine’s Day? Let us introduce you to Skip, a handsome 1 year, 7 month old black and tan hound from West Virginia who’s ready to steal your heart forever. Not much is known about Skip’s start in life, but he’s blossomed into the ultimate cuddle companion. This smooth, short haired, low shed sweetheart will happily curl up in your lap, give kisses, and gently “boosh” your leg when he wants affection. He’s truly a professional couch stealer weighing in at 52 pounds. When he’s not cuddling, Skip loves to zoom, wrestle, and tug with his canine brother. He’s great at knowing when it’s time to slow down and rest—usually with a pile of toys on the couch and the cutest little snores. His favorites include squeaky stuffies, which he proudly gathers before nap time. It is highly encouraged that his new home have a playful canine ready to welcome him.       Skip is working hard on his training: He continues to succeed with potty training with treats for positive behavior. He’s learning crate training (with a few “ahwoooos” when he misses you) when his foster parents are in the shower or out running errands.  He’s practicing sit, lay, and learning his name.   This scent-loving boy follows his nose wherever it leads, especially when he’s head deep in the snow, so don’t leave treats in your pockets, he will find them! He sleeps through the night and handles grooming like a champ, barely noticing nail trims, ear cleanings, and even allowing teeth brushing. Skip does best when fed separately and without high-value bones or antlers around other dogs, as he’s a bit too enthusiastic about partaking in… everyone’s food. His cat compatibility is currently unknown. Most importantly, Skip is full of love. He bonds beautifully with his foster mom, dad, and his 11-year-old human brother, proving he’s ready to be someone’s loyal Valentine for life. So if you’re ready to let this “masked bandit” sneak into your heart and leave paw prints all over it, Skip is waiting to meet you. Adopt Skip and make this Valentine’s Day the start of your forever love story. Skip is neutered, micropchipped, up to date on all of his vaccines, has had flea/tick heartworm and dewormer preventatives and is ready for his forever home. Skip will be available for adoption on or after February 15th at www.pawsacrosspittsburgh.com/adopt Paws Across Pittsburgh KL#16182 ##2655251##
