Story
Meet Emma (aka Emma Bean) Breed: Mixed Breed (Shepherd mix suspected) Personality: Gentle • Introverted • Sensitive Energy Level: Low Gets along great with other dogs and ignores cats Emma is a quiet, soulful girl who prefers calm spaces, soft blankets, and a predictable routine. She is the definition of an introvert’s introvert—thoughtful, observant, and slow to trust, but deeply loyal once she feels safe. Emma did not have an easy start in life and has experienced hardships early on. She was originally found with her seven tiny puppies. A good samaritan took her in during this time and cared for her and pups until it was time for puppies to be adopted. All of her puppies have been adopted and Emma has since been spayed and up to date on vaccines. We do not know a lot about where she came from but guessing she roamed the streets not knowing where her next meal may come from. She approaches new people and situations cautiously. She is not fearful or aggressive—she simply needs time and patience. What Emma Loves Peaceful environments and quiet companionship Cozy corners and comfy places to relax - a nearby couch or bed Gentle belly rubs Treats and snacks Calm, understanding people What Emma Needs Space to adjust at her own pace A low-chaos home environment Calm animal companions (She is being fostered right now in a home with 7 other pups and gets along beautifully with all of them... They are all couch potatoes) Emma’s Best Qualities Low energy and easygoing indoors Fully leash trained Potty trained Not destructive—no chewing shoes or getting into trash Does not steal food (with the rare exception of unattended cheese) Ideal Home Calm, quiet household Patient adopter who understands that trust takes time A fenced yard, as Emma enjoys having space to comfortably do her business without pressure No wild toddlers or overly chaotic pets; relaxed, respectful animals are welcome Final Thoughts Emma is not broken—she is simply introverted. She does not need perfection, just consistency and kindness. She may not bond instantly, but with time, she will show her affection in subtle, meaningful ways: waiting at the door when you come home, resting her head on your foot, or quietly sharing space beside you. Emma will be a deeply rewarding companion—proof that the slowest bonds are often the strongest. Emma is being fostered in Mississippi but can be transported to you. Our rescue sends dogs and kitties on transport to Pittsburgh every 3 weeks. Please reach out if you are interested in learning more about Emma!

Story
Meet Mikayla, the little lady of your dreams! At just 10-months-old, this shy girl is looking for a patient and quiet home that is ready to help her grow and gain confidence. Mikayla was a transfer from another rescue, and we don't have any information on where she came from before that. She is intimidated by people at first, but she will warm up quick and be the most loyal girl you've ever known if you give her a shot. She is a bit awkward with an endearing personality, and we've been in love with her ever since! Mikayla has done well with dogs here, so we prefer she go home with a canine companion to help guide her through life and build her confidence! She is not house trained and will need a family that is also willing to put the work in to help her learn basic commands. She is an incredibly sweet and cuddly girl who is loving and trusting despite the first few months of her life letting her down-- come and meet her today! Story
Meet Moogley! This big-headed guy came in as a stray, and it was quick for us to all fall in love. Moogley is incredibly friendly with all people he meets, and even better, he loves dogs, too! Moogley is one of our "play pair candidates", which means he has had success while being out and playing with other dogs. Moogley is curious, energetic and again, incredibly friendly! We believe him to be around 5 or 6 years old, and he deserves a second chance with a home that will appreciate him for who he is and doesn't want to deal with the puppy stage or the terrible twos again. Come down and meet this one-of-a-kind guy today! Humane Animal Rescue of Pittsburgh Northside – 1101 Western Ave. Pittsburgh, PA 15233 Kennel License # 1121

Story
Meet Buddy! This catastrophic oreo blizzard of a dog is believed to be a King Cavalier/Poodle mix, or as we know them, Cavapoo's! This means he is one-part curls, one-part sass, one-part nutcase, and 100% love! Buddy is full of energy and will never get sick of playing. His family who had to tragically surrender Buddy back into our care due to health issues had one final wish for him-- that we find a family that is able to throw the ball around with him without their arms giving out. Buddy was incredibly well loved during his time home. He lived with another dog successfully, and they said he did great at the groomers, having gone a couple of times a year! One look at him and you'll know he's the one. Come down and meet Buddy today. Humane Animal Rescue of Pittsburgh Northside – 1101 Western Ave. Pittsburgh, PA 15233 Kennel License # 1121

Story
Meet Frank! This young guy was brought in as a stray with who we believe to be his big sister, and their owner showed no interest in coming back for them, so Frank is ready for his forever home! He is a very friendly boy who is just under a year old and has a gorgeous brindle coat that will make everybody turn their heads! He walks around wiggling with a happy look on his face like every moment of every day is an adventure. He is a fetch master and an even better cuddler. He is still a young guy, so he will need some help getting into a routine. We know that he does great with other dogs and would be fine with a canine companion to romp around the house with, pending a successful meet and greet! If you have been on the hunt for an outgoing, social and rambunctious teenager, don't pass up this man of the month!
