Story
Drogo is a 6 year old male Rot/lab mix. He is a gentle giant but doesn't quite know his own size. He is house trained, crate trained, and knows basic commands like sit, stay, lay down, shake, etc. He is a loving and loyal dog. Our family is no longer able to give him the love and attention he deserves due to a new infant and job needs. We want him in a loving family. He is mostly good with dogs but gets a little excited and needs some time to adjust. He does ok with cats but needs to be reminded that they are smaller and don't want to play. He would do well in a home with no small children, due to his size. He is non aggressive and very sweet, he just needs to learn some manners. He is a great dog.

Story
Meet Ed Bighead! His pictures won't even do him justice. You have to come see him in person. This guy is a ROCK and we LOVE him. He's a big boy with a giant head and a huge heart. He loves his people more than anything else in the world. Stuffies come in a a close second though. He loves to walk holding stuffies, occasionally perform dissections, but mostly just sit with his emotional support stuffies. He has been on several field trips with volunteers, where he loved meeting new people and showed off his good leash manners. After a walk, he's ready to cuddle up with humans and chillax the rest of the day. He prefers his dog friends to be as chill as he is and just hang out, and we think he would be happiest having his people to himself in the home. Come down and meet your future brick of a son today! Story
Meet Mildred! Mildred is a sweet lady with a gentle spirit and a big heart. She loves going for walks and, while she can be a bit strong on leash at times, she settles in nicely and enjoys exploring at her own pace. Mildred adores pets and attention, and she’s proven to be calm and non-reactive around other dogs. We're not sure how she feels about cats or young kids, but we're happy to guide adopters through slow and thoughtful introductions. She also seems to be potty trained, making her an easy companion both indoors and out. With her affectionate nature and huggable charm, Mildred is ready to bring warmth and love into a forever home. Come meet her today! Humane Animal Rescue of Pittsburgh Northside- 1101 Western Ave. Pittsburgh, PA 15233 Kennel License #- 1121

Story
Meet Maple! Maple is a sweet, people-loving girl who enjoys attention, walks, and getting out into the world with her humans. She’s done wonderfully on volunteer field trips, settles nicely for car rides, and navigates new places with confidence and curiosity. Maple is affectionate little lady that's happiest when she can focus on her people; she would do best as the only dog in the home or with slow, thoughtful introductions, as she can be selective with canine friends. Her favorite pastimes are receiving belly rubs and setting tennis balls in your lap to fetch. If you’re looking for a loyal companion to explore life with, Maple is ready to meet you! Story
🐾 Meet Frank — Philly’s Most Wanted Frank spent several months navigating the streets of Philadelphia, dodging traps, chasing trash trucks for his daily meals, and cooling off by hopping through kiddie pools during a summer heatwave. He became a neighborhood legend with a fan club watching Ring cameras, tracking his route, and working around the clock to get him to safety. At last, hunger (and a stroke of good luck) led Frank to step into a trap set by Goodboy Dog Recovery. He immediately went to the vets, and it was revealed he had a 5-week-old tibia fracture, explaining the slight limp he carried from life on the run. He quickly recovered and you would have never known he had a leg injury. Through it all, Frank never lost his happy spirit or his trust in people. 💙 Frank Today Frank is a true survivor and one of the sweetest boys you’ll ever meet. He follows his foster everywhere looking for love, does a joyful little dance when you walk through the door, and absolutely lives for cuddles. 🐶 Dog-Friendly & Playful Frank currently lives with several foster siblings, both male and female, and gets along wonderfully with all of them. He’s respectful, easygoing, and knows how to read the room. He never overwhelms other dogs, but once given the green light, he’ll happily play all day long. 🏡 Frank’s Ideal Home Frank thrives with canine companionship and would love a home with another friendly, playful dog who matches his energy and helps him feel secure. He’s looking for a family who appreciates a loving shadow, enjoys silly antics, and wants a dog who will be your best friend in everything you do. Story
Riggs is ready for his people! Our adult tri-colored Rottweiler/mix boy has a great friendly temperament and is smart as a whip. Fully grown at approximately 2 years old, loves attention and has a energy level that isn't too much but is just enough. His sweet nature shines though his beautiful eyes showing you that he's got so much love to give and will be a wonderful additional to the right family. He walks well on a leash and knows some commands. Another dog as a companion may work for Riggs but, as always, a meet-and-greet with another dog his size is a must prior to adoption. He is very treat motivated which means he'll love to learn new things. Riggs can be a bit food protective and would do best in a home without small children and without cats. Riggs is a courtesy post for the Brooke County Animal Shelter in Beechbottom, WV, about 45 minutes from Pittsburgh. Please contact the shelter at 304-394-0800 for more information or to arrange a meet and greet with Riggs.November 16, 2025, 1:31 pm
