Story

Introducing Bagel! Bagel is a 3 year old Bully mix weighing about 50 pounds… and he is truly one of the sweetest boys you’ll ever meet. Bagel was transferred to us from animal control after he began struggling in the kennel environment. Originally picked up as a stray in December, he has been patiently waiting for a family ever since. While the team at animal control did everything they could to keep him comfortable and help him find adoption interest, the stress of kennel life simply became too much for him. Some dogs just aren’t meant to live in that kind of constant chaos. The stress started to take a toll. Bagel began losing weight, his once-handsome, filled-out frame becoming far too thin. He even started losing some hair and hurting himself in frustration. It’s heartbreaking to see such a gentle soul decline simply from stress and longing for connection. We brought Bagel to our shelter in hopes that our smaller, calmer environment would help him decompress… and we’re happy to report that he’s doing well. Right now, our biggest focus is helping him gain back the weight he’s lost and feel secure again. And let us tell you - we cannot understand how no one has scooped up this boy yet. We have absolutely fallen in love with him. Bagel is an absolute charmer. His greatest joys in life? Being with his people and enjoying a good meal or treat (and honestly, who can blame him? ). He walks beautifully on leash and sits so politely in his kennel, waiting his turn to come out. Even after everything he’s been through, he remains gentle, loving, and eager to please. As he continues to gain weight and feel better physically, we know his full personality is going to shine even brighter. Bagel does seem like he would do well with calmer dogs, though meet-and-greets between any potential doggy siblings are always required. We’re unsure how he is with cats, but we can cat test him once he’s a bit healthier. Bagel is the whole package: handsome, sweet-tempered, affectionate, and incredibly people-oriented. What he craves most is a calm home and a family to love him the way he deserves. We cannot wait to watch him continue to heal and finally find the forever home he’s been waiting so patiently for. Della is simple in the very best way. She enjoys her walks, happily accepts her treats, and absolutely loves snuggling into her blankies like the cozy queen she is. But more than anything in this world? She just wants to spend time with you. She has a quiet, loving presence the kind of dog who doesn’t ask for much, just a soft place to land and someone who won’t forget about her again. A comfy couch, a warm blanket, and a person to love her forever would be her dream come true. Say Hey to Mei Mei! Mei Mei is a 2-year-old, 40lb terrier mix girlie … and honestly? You’ll have to come meet her in person to help us solve the mystery of what she is! She’s petite, a little longer and fuzzier than you’d expect, with the cutest black ears and a perfect little black spot on her side. She’s basically a walking “guess my breed” game. Mei Mei was transferred to us from Hoffman Kennels, and it’s clear this sweet girl is ready for a soft place to land. When she arrived, she was wearing a choke chain that had become too small for her growing body. She had happy tail, some sores that suggest she may have spent far too much time in a crate, and the most unique little hop when she runs (all due to her previous home life, NOT animal control). We’re not entirely sure why Mei Mei bounces on her back legs. Mei Mei has had x-rays and she’s got the all clear! There’s nothing wrong with her. Her hops could be due to a lack of proper space to move, without a chance to learn how to walk properly as she grew. No matter what, we’re committed to making sure this girl gets everything she needs. And despite it all? Mei Mei is SILLY. She’s goofy. She’s playful. She loves her toys, loves her treats, and most of all - she loves her people. There is such a sweet little soul inside this tiny body, just waiting for someone to choose her. Mei Mei seems to do well with male dogs. We’re currently unsure about cats, but we can cat test for serious inquiries! She would be such a special addition to a family ready to give her patience, comfort, and love. A cozy home, soft blankets, and someone who sees how wonderful she is. Meet Missy! Missy is an 8-month-old, 40lb Husky mix who is finally ready to find her forever family… and we could not be more excited for this special girl! Missy deserves the world. Truly. She is the sweetest, silliest soul with so much love to give. When Missy first arrived three weeks ago, she was utterly terrified. Surrendered through no fault of her own, her previous family simply had too many dogs and couldn’t give her the time or care she deserved. Missy went from living her whole life in a familiar pack of dogs with her parents to the overwhelming reality of a kennel. Life at home was all she had ever known and suddenly everything changed. She didn’t know how to leash walk. She wasn’t used to a collar. The world felt big and scary. She would cower in the back of her kennel, unsure of new people and new surroundings. Our team worked so hard to help her understand she was safe - that hands could be gentle, that voices could be kind, that the world wasn’t something to fear. And oh… have we seen the light come back into her eyes. Now? Missy is HAPPY. She loves to run. She loves to zoom. She loves being outside and feeling the wind in her fur. And more than anything? She LOVES being with her people. If you’ve been searching for a velcro dog… you’ve met your soulmate. Missy wants to be touching her humans 24/7. Meet Jeremy: The Goofiest Giant You’ll Ever Meet! Jeremy is a 2-year-old, 60lb mixed breed - possibly part Great Dane, definitely 100% hilarious. This boy was picked up as a stray, and somehow we got lucky enough to meet the sweetest, silliest, most ridiculously fun pup ever. Jeremy is pure joy… and chaos… and more noodle than dog sometimes. Seriously, trying to photograph him is like trying to catch a tornado in a picture frame. What does Jeremy love? ~ Toys (he will steal yours if you’re not careful) ~ Pets (he melts into a puddle of love the second you touch him) ~ Galloping around the play yard like he’s a horse He walks well on a leash, greets new people like a superstar, and has the most adorable “panda eye” markings that hide his secret stash of ears and eyes. Honestly, you have to meet him in person to witness the full Jeremy experience …. he’s all charm, zero chill, and guaranteed to make you laugh. Jeremy would love to be your faithful, oversized, slightly clumsy companion. He’s dog-friendly, would do well with older kids who don’t mind being occasionally knocked over by love, and may even be cat-friendly (we can cat-test for serious inquiries).
