Story
This handsome boy is about 9 years old and has spent over three years now at our no-kill shelter. He LOVES the swimming pool and is very food motivated, but he does not like strangers. Dozer is not dog or cat friendly, and he would do best in a home without children. It takes him a considerable amount of time to warm up to new people, but once he does, he is a great walking companion. More than one visit will be needed to bond with this big guy. Dozer is a special needs guy, and it will be important for his future person to work with him to manage his unique needs. Dozer is physically healthy, but he has special behavioral needs that his owner has to understand and work with. He needs assertive leadership in order to be his best self. Can you give this big, muscular boy a chance at a home? If you are interested, please check out his video on Petfinder, Four Footed Friends, Indiana, PA. If you're interested in adopting this hunk, fill out your application via our website today or call us to learn more about him!

He may just need a refresher course.Admitted to the shelter in June of 2020 as an owner surrender.Oliver is a vocal pup that likes to talk and sing. When he's out of his kennel, he enjoys sniffing around and checking out his environment as typical hound mixes do. He likes to be pet and get attention. In the shelter environment, he seems to be scared of cats, but has made friends with other dogs through the fence. Due to his temperament, Oliver would do best in an adult home or a home with older children. If you're looking for a faithful companion, Oliver may be the one for you. Story
Hi there! I'm Sapphire and I'm really happy to meet you! I was brought to the shelter in July of 2021. I came in with a bunch of other Pit Bulls, all of which have been adopted. I don't really understand why I am the only one still here. I am a lot of fun! I really like playing in water, so if you ever wanted a buddy to go swimming with, please take me! When I'm not playing in the pool I like to keep active in other ways, like getting the zoomies and sprinting around or playing with toys. While I am a super sweet girl, I will need an experienced owner to continue to work with me and get that energy under control! Because of this I would not do well in a house with children, as I can get very rambunctious. I am also dog selective, but not necessarily opposed to a furry friend! However, I cannot go to a home with cats! So, if you have the space for my energy and the patience to help me channel it into other activities I'd love to meet you! I am a super sweet girl.Activity level: highWeight: 60 lbs Primary Color: Blue Secondary Color: White Age: 5yrs 5mths 1wks

Story
Hattie is a beautiful, funny, 5-year-old hound mix. Hattie is missing her right front paw which makes it a bit more difficult for her to move around, but this doesn’t stop her from having a great time outside. It is heartwarming and hard not to smile watching her hop around on three legs and run around in the yard. Hattie has the cutest smile, she loves treats, and loves to snuggle up and take a nap. She has a good balance of energy and excitement, mixed with the ability to relax and chill. Overall, she is a very independent dog, not demanding a ton of human attention. However, she would never say no to a game of fetch! In her previous homes, Hattie has had a few incidents of fighting with other dogs, has struggled with small children, and has a strong urge to chase wildlife when she gets her eyes on other creatures. As a result, Four Footed Friends staff believe she would do best in a home with no other dogs, no small children, and a fenced in yard where she can enjoy being outside while not being able to run off and chase other animals. This loveable lady is ready for another chance to make a lucky dog owner very happy. If you think you can provide Hattie with a forever home, please reach out and contact Four Footed Friends at (724) 349-1144 or dogmanager@fourfootedfriends.org. Story
Buddy is an inquisitive 5-year-old lab/hound mix. He absolutely loves to be outside, nose to the ground, exploring his surroundings. It takes some time for Buddy to get used to a person and he can be a really protective dog when it comes to those he is fond of. Once he gets to know you, Buddy loves to spend time with you. He is content to be around other dogs and loves to take a nap. He has the perfect energy balance of excitement when outside, but calm and quiet inside. Due to his protective nature, Buddy has a couple of biting incidents in his history. He would benefit from a force free trainer and leash training as well. If you think you can provide Buddy with a forever home, please reach out and contact Four Footed Friends at (724) 349-1144 or fourfootedfriends82@gmail.com. Story
Caramel is a beautiful 4-year-old lab/hound mix. She has a lower energy level and enjoys bonding with the people she likes. So far at Four Footed Friends, we have found that Caramel tends to bond quickly with older people, and especially older women. If you are older and can give this sweet lady a slower, quiet life, she would be a fantastic dog companion and Caramel might be the perfect fit for you! She has some special needs that any potential owner would need to be prepared for. Caramel has a history of seizures and is currently taking medication to prevent more of them. She gets very protective over her belongings, food, and favorite people. She is an anxious girl, and we have found that in the kennel she has a hard time relaxing around so many other dogs. When outside she is great on a leash and settles down very quickly. We believe she would thrive in an environment where she can focus all her energy and love on one or two owners and not have to react to children or other dogs very often. If you think you can provide Caramel with a forever home, please reach out and contact Four Footed Friends at (724) 349-1144 or fourfootedfriends82@gmail.com.
